4 traslucent lines on screen? - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Hi community, I'm new here and this is not my language (Argentina, spanish), so sorry if I write wrong.
I bought my phone in USA, it's the Verizon wireless griffin XT 1650-02.
The problem:
4 horizontal lines, that changes the size but don't disappear, when I change the bright settings..
I read people has this issue with their Samsung S7, and say that's hardware problem.
I don't have the possibility to get a replacement, it's too expensive for me.
Any suggestions?
Some S7 users reports that the lines where gone suddenly.
Thanks to all

That's a different problem, I don't have flickering problem..
They supposed to be flagships, so sad.
If you google "dark traslucent lines S7" you will find more data about my problem.

I see. From the Googles looks like it's a hardware issue. Any chance of sending it back where you got it for replacement?
Usually shipping for RMAs the only PITA when dealing when I purchase stuff from the States

Portion of LCD screen dead, again...anyone else with this problem? [pic inside]

Sounds weird, but this is the 2nd ATRIX I've received and within 4 months, a portion of the LCD screen just...dies. not dropped or water damaged either. Also with both phones it was the SAME part of the screen...and almost exactly 4 months apart...odd.

As you can see, that strip doesn't recognize contact, in either portrait or landscape. Anyone else experience this flaw?
Yup. But mine was at the top. I sent it in for warranty and got it fixed.

I've also got the same problem, except the dead portion of the screen is the exact part where the first notification in the notification bar is.
Any ideas?

Digitizer. The weakest part of that phone. If its in warranty, you're lucky. If not, search around for a replacement.

I just bought my second digitizer. (first one was not oem and worked but it didnt have minor details like tint where the sensors are.) My original one went dead, the second one i dropped the phone and it started going bad. Here is a link to an oem one from amazon. It should get here by monday so I will update you on the condition of it. I would NOT recommend going for a cheaper non-oem version.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053EYGEO/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
EDIT: I got the digitizer... and broke the ribbon cable lol. It was in perfect condition though and the company issued me an RMA so im getting another. I am sure that it worked fine. Seems like a great company (i got it from seller1on1) I have bought from them before, i cant say anything about how good the other companies are.

Display issues?

I can't remember exactly when I got the tab but its been a while... maybe close to a year. I've recently noticed an issue with the display of my GTab 10.1. I'll call it "splotchiness" for lack of a better word. And I'm not sure if its a defect with my Tab, or if its just the panel they used on the GTab 10.1.
Its hard to describe so I'll give some examples. On the settings screen, there are these weird lines or "bands" across the titile bar at the top. I get similar banding across the buttons (WI-FI, Notifications, GPS, etc.) of settings popup from the tray. And some banding and splotches in the Box app.
I've converted several DVDs to AVIs and put them on my tablet. Maybe the quality of the video just sucks. But most of them have these grainy, splotchy areas throughout the film. Sometimes its the background...sometimes its on peoples' faces, hands, etc. The splotches appear on still images too.
Its really hard to get images of the screen (the splotches and stuff strangely didn't show up in screenshots I took on the tab) but I did my best.
Anyone else's GTab do this? Is mine defective? Thanks in advance for your help.

I guess I'll assume the lack of response means nobody else is having this issue. I went back and looked and I bought my Tab on June 20th, 2011 so it's still under warranty. So I guess I'll send it back.

Hi, I'm no expert, but more info about your tablet would be necessary. Which version of the ANDROID OS are you using? It looks like the stock OS, but exact model and OS info is needed.
From a cursory glance at your post, it looks to me to be a software issue. But some more tests and info would be needed. I have attached some test images for you to view on your screen. See if you get the problem with these images.
Have fun. Anil
It's a 7510MAVB... 32 GB. Stock 3.2.
Those images do the same thing... Splotchy areas. I've contacted Samsung for repair. Only have 2 months of warranty left.
Thanks for the reply.

screen problem :(

I have a problem recently appeared in the colors of the screen when the status bar
They look darker than others, and be clear when I open a picture of one color such as red or white
What is the reason in your opinion ?! : (
I do factory reset/wipe
This image is for illustration

I have the same problem, it appears to be screen-burning : apparently some pixels are getting "bleached" by displaying the same color most of the time (i.e the status bar) -although on mine the strip looks clearer and not darker like yours, but it seems to be a common problem on AMOLED screens..
At such prices, it should be supposed to last longer than a year.. I'll try and necociate a replacement with my carrier as mine is still under warranty.
Yes, it's a Super AMOLED plus issue, it is reduced in Samsung Galaxy III because it's only Super AMOLED.
But this is so early... and I think it's not time for it to do so, something is really wrong with your screen, you go see customer service if you are still in warranty ASAP

I'm afraid you can't avoid it, since it's linked to the screen itself. Not unless you're willing to spend a lot of dough on spare SuperAMOLED+ screens and learning how to replace one yourself.. The only thing you can do is enable autorotation on your launcher(s) and not hold your phone the same position all the time (i.e. alternate between portrait and landscape. Personally I configure my CM9 so's it authorizes 180° rotations, so I can hold my phone upside down too -very convenient when reading webpages to avoid mistakenly hitting the back button too often. ).

Everybody should please read this about Screen burn-in
Everything you need to understand about it and its prevention is there.
I believe this will be useful for everyone and will help debunk some myths about the issue.

LCD error, stuck and no any response.

I have seen yesterday in a shopping center in retailer shop, strange behaviour of S6 edge:

Anybody could tell me what happened with this phone or witnessed such thing? Phone was hot but I can't tell if too much, maybe higher temps are standard in S6 world I own S5 and never noticed such temp. It wasn't burning but was unpleasant.
It's not a demo unit just regular phone. I saw that unit few days ago and it was retail one (checked in phone info).
Maybe someone dropped it but there were no sign on body.

Z2 - Flickering display

Bought a used Xperia Z2 today. Having owned 2 in the past, it was very stupid of me not to check it throughly, anyway I paid the guy and went home.
It was on 5.1.1, so as I was setting it up, I lowered the brightness a bit, and immediately the bottom of the screen started flickering, it also showed weird multi colored lines and it only happens when the phone is NOT on full brightness.
Even if I adjust the brightness slightly less than full, it starts flickering again.
This is the phone at full brightness.

These two are less than full brightness.
What could be the problem and how would one go about it?
P.S: I texted the seller and he advised a software upgrade. So I flashed the 6.0.1 FTF and it's still happening.
Any replies will be appreciated.

Buyer also idiot.
Damn.
He isn't being helpful and told me to pi** off in a very kind way.
Guess I'll have to dump this and lose money on it.
Thanks for replying.

Update: He has the cheek to reply after being rude and says, it's a software problem. Then when I told him I flashed a new FTF and did a factory reset, he says have it checked out by a phone repair guy.
Then he turns his phone off. :/

But true tbh. His advert was posted on 2nd May, so clearly he wasn't getting better offers.
Anyway, guess I'll go one of those weekends to sell it off.

I tried my last resort thing.
Opened up the phone, took it apart, put everything back together and the problem went away mostly, but it's still there sometimes.
Guess I'll actually have to dump the phone then.
