Downloading

first of all thnk u all developers for developing/porting as many roms possible to harpia... all roms are equally awesome
---------- Post added at 03:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:34 AM ----------
secondly.. is there any difd between cm14.1 rom and lineage os.. except name ,logo, bootanime changes?

Nice work. It's very pleasing to see the vitality of the Android community in face of the unexpected shutdown of Cyanogenmod.
I'll give it a try and report back
Thanks

Thanks
Great work! Will try it soon!

Who's using it now? Bugs?

I've been using it since it was uploaded. Same as CM 14.1 pretty much

Will Lineage be getting a theme engine? That is my question. I'd download this but if it's the same as CM 14.1 I'm not going through the pain of setting everything up again.

Test build
Here's a current build I made from official sources: http://www.mediafire.com/file/pmu945qzhvuvgnn/lineage-14.1-20170121-UNOFFICIAL-harpia.zip
We currently don't have VoLTE support included because of issues when upgrading from a previous CM version without VoLTE. Between official builds, having a working upgrade path is mandatory. This is more an issue for surnia, osprey, and lux, as they had previous official builds, but harpia is also part of the family.
@spiked_mistborn - when you use this build and try to make calls on T-Mobile, does it fall back to non-IMS calling or does it try to use IMS (VoLTE), fail, and then just not work?
Everyone else: does the radio work on your variant? Please reply to my post, indicating your model number, carrier, and whether or not RIL works for your variant. I need this information to determine what needs to be done before activating official nightlies.

Radio works on xt1602!
Can you say anything about notification led?

Xt1607 RIL works fine. Data still drops out occasionally. I'm using net10 on ATT towers

I have the unlocked XT1607 model. All is working really great on this build. Very smooth and pleasant. I am on H2O Wireless which is a MVNO on the AT&T network, and calls and texts all work.

I'll test it and let you know. Perfect timing on this -- I've been holding off on installing anything because I'm using adopted storage and with the key being stored in /data it makes it annoying to change ROMs. It's been saying "SanDisk SD card missing - Reinsert this device" and losing the adopted volume for the last few days though. Reinserting gives me access for 0.5 hour maybe. I was having the same issue with surnia and I thought it was just that phone, but maybe it's the card. My daughter has the same setup with no issues - harpia, stock ROM, squid kernel r19. I need to backup my files and get rid of the adopted volume, so I guess it's a good time to test some ROMs!

@squid2
For this thread I am using the DevDB resources, if you find it necessary, I can include you in contributor, so you can change the first post as many times as necessary and add "reserved" post as well. Just tell me if you need it.

@squid2 I tested the 1-21 build that you posted and by default it tries to use IMS (VoLTE), fails, and then just doesn't work. The radio indicator stays on LTE. It does dial though. There is an audible tone when it's dialing before the other person answers, but when the call connects there is no audio, and then it automatically disconnects after about 15 seconds. The phone also rings on incoming calls, but there is still no call audio and it automatically disconnects.
If I switch the preferred network type to 3G everything works fine. The call audio is also now working correctly through Bluetooth and wired headsets.
It defaults to the correct APN for T-Mobile.
Data seems to be working fine on LTE and 3G.
I have a US retail xt1607 with baseband M8916_20250106.08.05.23R

Thanks for the report. This was my main concern.
The good news is that we received authorization to opt out of supporting upgrades between CM and Lineage for this family of devices, so we will be including VoLTE support in official nightlies. However, also be aware that because of new signing changes and our opting out of upgrade support (and unsigned/signed build transitions), you will not be able to flash official builds directly over unofficial ones or vice versa.

Flashed this image on the brand new phone of my wife (arrived today) and looks like it works nicely. Thanks.

Installation Instructions
To avoid issues with enabling/disabling WiFi, you need to be running a suitable modem from Motorola's 5.1 release or newer. Modems for various models can be found in the modems thread by @EB20XY.
Installation is simple and follows the same basic procedure as any other source built custom ROM.
Boot into TWRP
Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik
Flash the ROM, then GApps
Reboot
For GApps, many options may work. I've usually had success with OpenGApps, but I've also tried BaNkS in the past. When upgrading from a previous CM13 build, dirty flashing without any wiping usually works fine.
Thanks @squid2 for your awesome work and support
Thanks! CM13 for surnia is back to life
March 5th Release
The main change in this build is that I've updated the camera drivers to those of the Asian Marshmallow release. This camera driver update required changes at the kernel level too. If you want to use my "Squid Kernel", you will need to use the new r15c version (that I'll be releasing shortly).

Hello @squid2. I have question. In this Rom you use your kernel r15c? Thanks for answer.
hallo guys, i have a problem. i have this baseband: M8916_200610.10.02.58.18R SURNIA_EMEA_CUST
I need to update in order to install the CM13 ?
which file should I use ?
i was looking at installing this but the usb connection on my phone is gone...is it possible to flash the modem files in twrp or something like that?
@up
This rom uses cm-13.0 kernel. If you want some additional kernel features, then flash Squid kernel.
@squid2
I still have problem with feedback vibration strength. It can be changed in Settings/Kernel Adiutor, but its only changes vibration for calls/messages, not UI feedback. For example, when touching navigation bar, vibration is 2x higher than on Lollipop, what is uncomfortable. Do you know any solution for this? In cm13 on Moto G2 vibration is fine.

The UI feedback vibrations are configured within overlays in the device tree. We are currently using the same configuration on all devices. I hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out, but yes, the vibration settings being used are heavier than the surnia stock ROM defaults. I personally don't mind the heavy haptic feedback and I always found my aunt's titan's haptic feedback to be too light for my taste. But if a lot of you don't like the current level of haptic feedback, I can make the configuration device specific and match the surnia stock ROM.
@squid2
I will be grateful if you make vibration patterns device-specific and same as stock.

You can record at high frame rates using the Motorola camera app. However, the recordings play at full speed when viewed through the gallery.
Can anyone confirm if this will work for the XT1526 Boost Mobile (Sprint) version of this device?
Thanks.

I am using it now, seems to work just fine. Go grab the mvno slayer flashable zip from the moto e 2015 CDMA development side of this site and flash it after this ROM and everything will be all good for you.
Edit: one thing I found with this ROM, never had this problem before ever. I go into adaway, go to my whitelist, click on import, find my whitelist.text and click on it.. Then adaway crashes every time. Do you have any idea why?
Edit, again: I fixed the adaway issue. It was an oversight on my part, I had to press the 3 dot icon inside the import lists window and click on show SD card. The file was on my phone when it wasn't working, but whatever its fixed now lol.
I've now been using this new build nearly 24 hours.
Super slick and very very stable, no issues to report what so ever.
I'm using the new squid kernel r15c but I haven't flashed a newer 5.1 modem/baseband on my UK XT1524, I have never touched the modem/base band its still the original 5.0.2 that it was purchased with, all marshmallow/6.0.1 ROMs I've tried recently have all worked flawlessly, including telephone and WiFi.
Whilst it works so well, I'm leaving modem and baseband well alone (just being super cautious, not deliberately going against the devs instructions)
Super job!

You will get a roboot soon or later if you are still in baseband 5.0.2.
I know because i did the same thing and i though it was rock solid but after 2 days or so i got a reboot while typing a message in whatsapp and another while turnining on the WIFI.
It was all solved after flashing the 5.1 baseband, no problems whatsoever.
Awesome! I was hoping squid2 would bring CM13 back for us ?

First! Yay! Question1: Is the camera working?
Question 2: Is there VOLTE?
And a tip: Please add a list of features working and not working
BTW @Myself5 , great work on the kernel
Edit: Error 7 in TWRP, editing updater-script and trying again.
Edit 2: Removed getprop commands. no error 7. extracting system right now
Edit 3(Final): Rom boots up. Network working. Connects to LTE. Wifi working. Very smooth.
But camera doesnt work. Once you get it working, i will be back
Great job! but camera doesn't work and the phone isn't sleep(cpu is stilll running when screen is off). Sorry for my English
Very nice! First official 7.1.1 ROM There is also one more bug, when I tried to launch a torch from a quick settings the phone rebooted itself.
I will definitely use this rom if sony improves aosp camera with new blobs.

Feature List is WIP. Will be delivered later on this week.
There just was no time to do this this morning 4AM, jenkins just took up too much time
Q2: Never tested that, my SIM doesn't support it, neither is there LTE coverage for it here. Would be cool if you could try and report back.
Error7: You probably had a recovery that was using "z3c" as the device name, I went for the real Sony codename (aries). Might not have been the best idea, as it was already misstaken as a Xiaomi Mi2 here https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/5ldrav/carbon_rom_android_711_nightlies_out_for_xiaomi/
Regarding cam: this phone is going to kill me. On my testbuild I did yesterday cam was working flawlessly...
I'll review the weekly and see if I can upload a new one.
Also, is anyone here experiencing any NFC issues? Its working fine on my Z3C, but @ronin86 keeps on having issues with it with it.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't tried NFC, switched back to my ROM. I was just trying out new ROMs. Great job on the ROM btw, apart from camera, the ROM is pretty stable. I didn't want to switch, but camera is a deal breaker for me.
I would love to switch to 7.1.1. Maybe you might want to consider switching the bootanim... its kinda choppy

Does this ROM work with MultiROM?
First of all a
REAL BIG THX
to @Myself5 for all his engagement and calmness while the developing time....
Concerning NFC : with the last prerelease Version i decided to flash first the ROM, then directly without booting newest OpenGapps nano and SuperSU 2.79 - And after booting the miracle happens - NFC switch appears and keeps static - and it reacts to a NFC chip by opening the related website...
I also encountered a permanent wakelock maybe related to charging and not rebooting afterward .... i have to check
Cam was working in the prerelease version

Ikr, but when I pressed it to see if it's working my phone rebooted itself.
EDIT: There is also one more bug, related to phone calls. I can hear person which is talking to me clearly, but the person to which I'm talking hear something like (echo of my voice?). That's the only problem in term of phone calls, because I didn't experienced reboots during phone calls, and it appears that the volume is changing
@hmnt
You need an unlocked bootloader - the newest working recovery (TWRP) - and Open Gapps (or similar )
Put the flashable *zips on sd-card (doesn't matter if intern or extern) Enter Recovery - i recommend a factory reset - then flash the rom and afterwards Open Gapps.
Cheers

i'll try to support in an economic way too, if possible.

I really liked using CarbonROM on my previous phones. With SLiMM now dead it's nice to see a good alternative for the z3c. I thought development on the z3c was dying. Thank you for bringing Nougat to this phone. I was really close to getting a new one. Not many options for a compact SD801 or higher. Dislike large phones. Was considering a OnePlus 3T only because I can put my work sim in with my personal sim.

I have not tested it, but I do think so. The strange thing is that VoLTE works for one of my LineageOS users fine in the latest build (even after rebooting), but doesn't work in PE-CAF. Very weird issue

ROM is smooth but VoLTE is not working. You may save yourself from trouble if VoLTE is essential Fn.
Update: It felt way more responsive than LOS 16.
Bug report: File move/copy from Device to PC does not work over usb transfer.
There are a few bugs/missing features that I think are worth reporting. First of there is no option to add a fingerprint to unlock the phone, also fingerprint gestures don't seem to work. Besides that, I've had some problems with GPS signal being lost and regained every minute or so. Besides that everything is working fine! Keep up the good work, and thank you for this release!
Edit: Also fingerprint gestures are not working

Hi, actually I'm not sure. All i did was download the rom and flash it through twrp. How can I check if I'm using oreo firmware? And if I'm not how can I install it? I'm actually trying to find it on google, but I haven't come across a solution.
Edit: Found it, will try installing the oreo firmware. That was a huge oversight from me.
Edit2: Yep, worked. Thanks a ton.

No it's not! Specially with Pixel Experience CAF! 2019-05-14 build. Tested just now. Clean flash and everything. Are you sure that you are refering to Voice over LTE, instead of LTE? Try to make a call.

Well I obviously wouldn't call it fixed if it only worked for one boot.
Also, since it hasn't been tested on Carbon, I've removed it from the post.
VoLTE is confirmed to be fixed on LineageOS and Pixel Experience CAF.

Instructions
At least MarshMallow bootloader is required or you will not be able to boot the rom !
Latest stock firmware is recommended before installing this rom, even if it might work with older versions !
You have to reboot one time after first boot to make mobile data work.
Use the TWRP from the download-link for your device above (needs to be flashed from existing TWRP, or use ODIN version)
Download the latest build
Put it on your device
Reboot to TWRP
Take a full backup
If you want to be sure wipe the device
Flash the latest build
Clean Cache and Dalvik if you want
Reboot and enjoy
Others
Easily rootable with the great Magisk (stable) by @topjohnwu.
I use it as daily driver without major issues, except mobile data (see above).
I use microG as google replacement and for push-services, signature-spoofing is already build into the rom but need to be enabled in "Settings -> Blissify -> More" and granted in microG-Settings.

Note from 2020-07-25:
This is quoted from my (abandoned) Bootleggers thread.
I did not (yet) test dualsim on my j5xnlte.
I will do it this evening/night (UTC+2), I'm on-call this weekend and can therefore not test it during the day.
This works for me on my test j5xnlte:
It doesn't matter which sim is your data-sim.
Before setting your data sim to 3g or 4g (aka LTE):
make sure to set 2g as preferred network on the sim you do not use for data.
The data sim can then be set to whatever you want.
Never ever try to change the sim after you started a call, if you do so you most likely have to restart the device to make things work again.
Before restarting the device you can try to set both sims to 2g and switch the data sims twice (easiest way with the QS-tile)

Happy to see your creativity again, Jenslody. Thank you so much for this new Rom and your hard work.
Unfortunately, I'm still using Bootleggers because it's very stable, Do I still need to flash the stock firmware or just fully wipe Bootleggers and flash Bliss?
Thank you again, man

I made a backup of my apps with migrate and copied /data/media (internal storage) to my sd-card and made a full backup with TWRP to be sure.
Then I wiped data, and internal, system will be wiped during install anyway.
Then I installed the rom, booted once (not sure if it is necessary), went back to TWRP and booted Magisk and the Migrate-backup.
Then it was time to restore my apps ( a little bit tricky, because I use microG and an additional work profile), but all works fine now.

Thank you for your detailed explanation
Firstly a very great Good Morning to everyone. I hope everyone will be fine in this adverse conditions. Now coming back to the topic , I tested this rom yesterday and I am happy to say that it worth my data. Everything is smooth no crashes until now, tons of customizations never saw in any roms. I don't like to use the word 'but' but unfortunately I have to use that so please don't take it on a wrong side. So the only issue which I am facing is with the ringtone. As I am from India, we have to use volte on 4g networks for our needs such as calling, messaging etc. And to counter that problem there is an app named jiocall which lets us to use volte services using its jio Sim on any 4g enabled device. Now the problem is that whenever someone is calling me, I am getting the vibration feedback from the device but the ringtone is not playing up, I had also enabled the ringtone from the settings but the problem is still the same. It does work on all other roms but this is first time I am experiencing this issue. Might be there is something which I am missing so if anyone can help me in coming out from this problem then it will be great , thanks!

You know it will be a lot helpful to provide some logs... Install apk that cach logs and just let it run in beckground whan crash provide the log..
Three questions (don't hesitate if you can only answer <=1 of them):
1. Our J5 2016's have a 64bit ARMv8 Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) Cortex-A53 CPU, accdg. to both, Samsung's specs and CPU-Z. Is this ROM here also 64bit and able to run 64bit apps? If not by default, have you gathered sufficient solid experience after swapping the kernel with a 64bit kernel (provided that's at all possible)?
2. If this ROM is 64bit: are you running a compatible and current Google Camera app mod which includes the AR (Augmented Reality) module (64bit only!) for Google Maps' neat Live View feature?
3. Do you reliably run EdXposed with this ROM?
Side note: nowhere in the J5 2016 forum section did I discover any ROM which is explicity declared to be 64bit, not even in any description..

INSTALLATION
Put the zip file of the ROM on your sdcard or internal storage, boot into recovery and flash. When coming from stock: boot into TWRP, format data, reboot to recovery and wipe all internal partitions. Then flash the ROM, GApps (if needed) and root (if needed).
Note: There is not going to be a LOS su addon anymore. If you need root, flash a root manager of your choice. No guaranteed support from LOS for this.
When updating from builds, simply dirty flash the ROM.
If coming from 17.1, please see advice below in second post ("UPGRADE LINEAGEOS").
KNOWN ISSUES
WFD is not working yet (waiting for new non-BSP blobs)
Stock camera is not working anymore due to incompatibility of stock library (libimageprocessorjni.so) with new libgui

SECURITY ADVICE
Don't flash ROMs or Magisk modules which set SELinux to permissive or you welcome malware on your device!
UPGRADE LINEAGEOS
I have not tried upgrading the device from 17.1 and cannot guarantee that it will work - you should do a backup just in case. If things go wrong, flash it as if coming from stock (see instructions in OP).
The following steps should work though:
Flash new twrp and boot into it
Flash new rom, opengapps and any updated root solution you use
Optional: Clear cache
Reboot
Note: When updating form Lineage 17.1, you maybe have to once change your preferred network type from 3g back to 4g/LTE.
UPGRADE FIRMWARE
Grab the Sony Stock firmware using e.g. XPeriFrim. You should always flash the firmware matching the LOS build.
Grab newflasher and put it in the same folder as the firmware files.
Read the newflasher original post on XDA for general instructions!
Remove the following from the folder so they won't get flashed:
all *.ta files (keep the one in the boot/ directory)
cache*.sin
fotakernel*.sin
kernel*.sin
system*.sin
userdata*.sin
vendor*.sin
Turn off your phone
Hold the volume down button and attach it via USB to your system till you see LED turning green
Run newflasher from within this directory to flash the remaining files
You can say yes to the first optional step, in case you don't have working drivers installed.
Skip the second optional step (dumping of trim area), it's useless if your bootloader is unlocked already and takes a long time.
How to get root?
As mentioned before, there will not be an official su addon from LOS anymore. If you need root, flash an unofficial solution.
Google Apps
You can download and install the Google Apps from opengapps.org. You need ARM64 and 11.x. I suggest to *always* use the pico or nano package. If you need additional apps you find them in the Play Store.
Open GApps for Android 11 is still in beta. You can download those releases here
MicroG
This ROM doesn't support Signature Spoofing. However we are watching MicroG and check if they provide newer builds e.g. for Android 11.

Unfortunately, I am not sure there is much that we can do. The stock library that we need for the stock camera app to work properly (libimageprocessorjni.so) is not liking the new Android 11 libgui. We (also with the help of @j4nn ) tried to fix these issues in various ways, including shimming and forcing the use of the 10 libgui but haven't managed to get it working properly yet. Maybe we'll have a crack at it again at some point, but I wouldnt get my hopes up too much. It also doesn't help that the XZ2/3 series is not getting an official Android 11 update. Opencamera is a decent alternative, although it does lack some of the stock camera options.

Oh nice, and I just got the device today (new and unopened) but for some reason I can't flash it to a different or use even the official tool from Xperia to "repair" my software.
First thing I'll do after upgrading will be checking this rom.
Thank you a lot!

I have added support for both of these internally, so a custom OEM should not be needed anymore. I know at least of one person where it's working on maple. is it not working for you?

I'm sorry. I just found this option in Settings. It seems to work.
Thank you again for your reply.
By the way,are there any plans to add volte video calling?(This is not a requirement.)
Gesture Navigation (1st option) seems buggy sometimes especially while playing game bottom bar appears in center & (in landscape) bottom screen touch not response.
