[Q] Is there any way to root/downgrade my Samsung Galaxy Discover running 4.1.2?

Hello. I have a Samsung Galaxy Discover (SCH-R740C) from Cricket. I had 4.0.4 when I got the phone but accidentally upgraded to 4.1.2, thus losing the previous root I had on the phone. Now that I want the root back, I can't seem to find anything that can root it whether it be from the computer or my phone. I have tried a lot of thing but all seemed to fail. Is there anything that could root it or maybe help me downgrade back to 4.0.4 or earlier? All help would be appreciated. Thanks!
What I tried using: Kingo Root, UnlockRoot, Safe Root, z4 Root, Key Root Unlocker, Poot, Framaroot

The only option I see left is towelroot. I can't promise it will let you downgrade as its only for root and nothing related to unlocking the bootloader

How to root galaxy note 3 Verizon (HLTEVZW) on 4.4.4 or install 4.4.2 via ODIN?

I have now tried everything I can think of to root my note 3 Verizon with 4.4.4 and the following didn't work: towelroot, framaroot, kingo root, iroot, vroot, rootgenius.
I have no clue how to get ODIN to work. It's giving me an authentication error after it says the nand write begins. No anti virus running, no firewall running, no WiFi active, no bluetooth active, and essentially nothing running in the background. Windows 8.1 on an HP pavillion touchsmart.
I already downloaded a 4.4.2 NC4 OS to flash. Got it from Sam mobile.
Anything to root 4.4.4 so I can install safestrap or a way to install 4.4.2?

No root period and no development, It appears to be hopeless for this phone now.
