You can simply make a backup of all partitions in TWRP and in case you want to go to back to MIUI, just restore the backup.
I did it last week, going back from XenonHD (based on CM) to my backup of MIUI. I used ZCX TWRP and the only problem I found was that after restoring the backup, my lockscreen was locked with password and I had to delete 5 files using TWRP file manager.

Deleting just 2 files (gatekeeper) is enough ?.
I use Alka twrp and it works exactly as zcx in terms of restoring.

I need twrp

I'll try to keep this short:
I STUPIDLY....tried to use the new CM installation of the mod via my pc (their new method). I had made a backup of my original at&t firmware on my internal card...using my preferred method, TWRP.
Now, once the CM installation completed, it gave an error and I decided the heck with that, and I installed Rom Manager back on my phone and selected my original backup; and then....it booted in the CWM recovery and guess what....when I go to restore from sdcard, it CANNOT FIND THE BACKUP.!! I rebooted and looked in rom manager, and its there. Now at the top of the rom manger window, it it showing twrp as the recovery method, but when reboot, it goes only to CWM.....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to get my backup rom back on my device!!!
Forgot to mention: Once I got the error, it did boot into CM and now I'm stuck on CM. From there, I reinstalled Rom Manager and tried to restore from my backup.

It sounds like you may have to use fastboot to flash twrp recovery. Or try to sideload it.

I was able to use ADB to flash it, and when I rebooted, TWRP was there, but...my backup did NOT appear in my backups. I have since flashed a different from; figuring by chance something might be cleared up, guess what.... When I open Rom Manager, my backup is there, (and twrp is indicated as recovery) it FRICKEN REBOOTS in CWM and from there, I can't see my backup; or anything in my storage!!! The only backup I see using CWM is one that i created using CWM and its NOT the one I want/NEED!
I'm thinking hard about trying to return it, again, to stock (unroot), but that's what started all my issues in the first place! LOL!
My problem unfortunately remains, in that I have a backup created in TWRP, that I can't restore to! Is it possible to use ADB to restore a nandroid back up:? I have the backup saved in my adb folder, it is however not a zip file, it saved as just a folder.

your problem is Rom Manager quit installing it.
use es file manager and move your backup to the new twrp folder
I'm guessing the old backup is in data/media/twrp/backup/ move it to data/media/0/twrp/backup
reboot to recovery (twrp) and restore and your all set

If you have flashed a custom recovery like TWRP, you could backup your current OS to your external SD card, flash a custom ROM and - after some trial of this custom ROM - revert back to your original OS without any problem.

Help with backup

I need to do a full backup of my Kenzo.
I have unlocked it with the official method.
What version of twrp should I install to make a full backup that I'm going to restore after having tried some custom rom (and still keeping the stock miui OTA update functional)??? Thanks!
Twrp alka

PLEASE HELP ME ( COFFACE TWRP VS Alka TWRP )

Hi ! all ,
i just unlock bootloader offically. now i m confused between these two TWRP. i just want to flash cm based roms as well as revert back to miui roms without any problem. also want to backup my rom & flash through twrp if ever i stuck on boot logo. i mean i dont wanna use fastboot method to flash miui roms everytime . i jsut want to simply revert back to current rom or flash any rom through TWRP. so tell me which is best for me & give me instruction & file link also
Thanks in advance
COFFACE and Alka are really meant for MIUI but I think you can flash CM, never tried it though, I always use official TWRP. then again, I never backup ROMs. I use titanium backup.

i use alka with resurrection remix rom. but i have to admit that i did backups but never tried to restore them because there are no guids how to do so on the redmi note 3 pro. because at some roms it seems you have to deselect system partition restore to get a working restore of a backup.
so ... flashing CM or resurrection remix is no problem with alka twrp ... restoring i never tried
I personally prefer Cofface patched by feds64 with which you don't have encryption related problems. I have upgraded and downgraded multiple times in MIUI (dev/stable/miui7/miui8/M/L) and other custom ROMs; and have even restored MIUI and other custom ROM's backup. No issue yet.
You can get it from HERE.

Question Nandroid Backup without root

Hi,
how can I make a Nandroid Backup from my Redmi Note 10 sunny?
Is it possible with the TWRP alpha here?
I don't want to root or flash a custom rom.
I had read somewhere there would be problems with restoring backups with TWRP on the redmi note 10.
Is that true?
About those problems, they're real, but this thread may help you:
