I never took the time to really test differents setting with boeffla. Sultan's was really good on OOS 2.
Out of the box, the Blackreactor on the lasts versions was really good.

Which kernel should I put?

Hello there! I've a question: I had Slimkat rom in my Galaxy S3 (I9300) but for many reason I moved to Resurrection Remix, everything is ok except the bad audio recording quality, the bad consumption of battery and an anomalous heating of CPU and battery in the daily use. I have the stock kernel, should I try to change it with someone else? If yes, which? Can you post the links?
Sorry for my bad english. Be patient :silly:

There are couple of kernels that you can use with Resurrection Remix: Boeffla, GoogyMax2 and Agni.
Boeffla is more popular for soundmods though.
They're mentioned in the ROM thread as well.
Please check development section for kernel threads.

Someone recommended Onmi version when I checked last time. You can ask RR users on the main thread for their opinion.
I've personally used CM version and it worked fine except a few things here and there.
Note: If you have camera issues, you can check Rohan's Camera Fix in Apps, Themes section. I used v2.3 and worked best for me

If I flash the kernel, could I have some problem like bootloop or something else? I've make a nandroid backup, is it enough?

Wrong kernel = bootloop
In severe cases even permanent damage (esp if you flash for wrong device). Most of the times it's nothing to worry about though. Just make sure you check the version with ROM users first.
Nandroid is fine and make /efs backup (not needed atm but always crucial for future uses). :good:

Change recording settings and see if it improves. Apart from that I wouldn't recommend anything else.

MM Tesla was a rom with a very good battery life on the onyx and I heard Tesla N is extremly battery friendly on OP3. Maybe they have some draining bugs. I haven't time to try it (I'm on MM Validus)
edit:
If you have free time, try a custom kernel and report the battery life here

I was on Arsenic Kernel. I dont know why, but every 7.0 ROM has bad battery life on my phone. I tried CM14 by Sarthak, F-AOSP and Tesla N
Edit: I tried Stock Kernel on Tesla N and it was even worse.

Mhm okey. For now I would go with a MM rom and the new BL with codsworth kernel (can't install the kernel, because validus can only be used with old BL)

Nitrogen os stable build + radon 4.0V is best combination so far. I havent faced any major fc's except on camera and flash light which will be fixed only when xiaomi release their source code for nougat kernel which in my opinion is not happening anytime soon

I've installed nitrogen os with the stock kernel and there's a huge improvement. I want to ask that does changing kernels really work?

Yes, gives you alot of options to tweak. Also it fix some issues with the goodix fp.
I got 14h SoT yesterday on NOS
By the way, you should use stock kernel with it...it has all tweaks you need

But for performance and gaming, quasar 1.6 is still the best
And have 2000+ point in antutu better than dragon v2

Great Rom....Very smooth with Dragon Kernel v2. Exzellent Sound with Dolby Atmos Viper Fx from Divine Beats..No Lags or Bugs....And Run with Xposed Framework with Gravity Box.....Love this Rom....I have J510FN
Another brilliant rom from one of our finest developers.Rom is fast and smooth as usual from Ak7.Sound is amazing with equalizer optomized superbly.I don't need dolby or viper on this it is loud enough and mix is great with jet audio player.Rom is superb for gaming with no lag whatsoever.A nice choice of kernels is your pick.Quasar well tried and tested and superb as usual is the best antutu performer on paper anyways and great for gaming but may have battery drain for some but I don't have a problem with it.Dragon kernel by Bulgarian Jesus is a nice alternative.Have tried it on this rom and matches quasar in every aspect apart from memory but battery performance is incredible with this kernel and gaming performance is great. Finally Rv's kernel is very nice and suited to everyday use if you are not into gaming and has excellent battery performance as well.I am currently using quasar and include the benchmark with quasar which is tops. Thanks to Ak7 and all those who developed those wondeful kernels and those who contributed to the rom.
