Has anyone tried this ROM? It's not AOSP nor CM - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Spotted it in the MIUI forums. Apparently its AICP 11, still based on MM.
Seems to have fewer bugs than CM14. No fingerprint and camera only takes 8mp.
Has anyone tried it yet? At least we still have hope for more custom roms.

Yes. You can't call without the radio resetting.

Several Questions about Nougat ROMs

The situation with Nougat ROMs is a bit confusing for me so I have several questions:
First question:
@andr68rus is working on several N ROMs at the same time:
Resurrection Remix
Dirty Unicorns 7.1.2
AOKP ROM for LeMax 2
Can you tell which one's the best, most future proof project? Did he even stop maintaining on of them?
Second question:
What about the official Lineage Builds?
How well maintained are they? Is this the way to go in the future?
Third question: I'm currently using TeamWin twrp-3.0.2-1-x2. Do I need a new TWRP for N?
Thanks for eventual help.
Aside from Dirty Unicorns, most of the ROMs are Lineage based. I believe @andr68rus is taking a break from DU to focus on resolving issues in the Lineage based ROMs he's building.
In fact, I believe most of the Nougat ROMs (not just andr68us') are based off the work done for Lineage 14.1 so it will probably be the best maintained. I've switched to the Unofficial Lineage 14.1 for now and probably will go with the Official (assuming it goes official, though I don't see why it wouldn't) unless some other ROM has a feature that's "must have" to me.
With regards to TWRP, I think your's should be fine, but you might want to give MultiROM a try so you can switch between ROMs. I currently have LOS 14.1 as my internal, and DU 7.1.2 & AOKP - MM as secondaries. I'm using Lineage as my daily driver, but it's nice to know I can boot back to AOKP if I have an issue. I didn't have problems with DU, but I didn't place any calls and I saw some complaints about things like echo and call volume, which is why I went to Lineage. DU did feel a bit "smoother' to me, but I'm not sure if it's just placebo because it was the first Nougat ROM I used, or if it's because it's AOSP rather than Lineage based.
When using MultiROM, just don't freak out if flashing a ROM messes up your PIN codes in all your other ROMs. There's a flashable zip to remove the pin codes from a ROM (which really just deletes a few files) and afterwards you can add you PIN back.
Thanks for the answer. With Official Lineage I've meant the ROMs from download[DOT]lineageos[DOT]org/x2 . The thing I don't understand is how well maintained that is. Do they have their own people working on the ROM, or are those people from here?
Edit: I just realized that the ROMs there are 13.0 which is supposedly Android 6.0. So there are no official Lineage 14 ROMs jet. That's where my confusion came from.

I'm using your Lineage 13.0 UNOFFICIAL atm. I've tried AOKP but the battery drain was too high. The 13.0 seems fine. I guess I'll wait a bit till the N ROMs a more mature.

Best Custom ROM for oynx without network error bug.

Hi all, I had been using CM 13 from long time and recently moved to Lingage OS 14.1. In CM 13.1 there is this network error bug present but it's rare but in Lingage OS 14.1 it's much more common when ever I open some massaging app network goes off. It's so irritating.
So please suggest the best custom Nugot ROM for oynx.

Try Tesla or DU. Pretty much the most stable ones. Network isn't too stable for me on any ROM also. It's weird since many people don't suffer it.

Network isn't stable on any N based rom that i have tried.
Let's wait for paranoid android and sultan's rom maybe they will be bug free.
I have tried almost every nougat ROM out there and I can confirm that no ROM has network stability.
You can read the reason over here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72607310&postcount=3
As far as it comes to network stability, OxygenOS will be the only solution. I am also switching back to OxygenOS for the same reason. Once PA 7.1.2 comes out, I'll try that and if not, then stay on OxygenOS.
Pure Nexus has been fantastic for me stability wise. Super smooth rom on the stock kernel/settings.
I can confirm that too.. There is no rom currently with guaranteed network stability. I switched back to stock OxygenOS and I have stable system and network plus great battery life. Unless something groundbreaking happens (I hope Nougat PA will do the trick), OOS is the most stable for now..
Thanks for your response.
no network issue. im using 7 roms and all is fine.

network is stable on nitrogen and vertex both 7.1.2

Help me find best Oreo ROM

Hi,
I've tested many ROMs, but recently even more come. Haven't tested them yet, like DotOS, Havoc etc.
The thing is about stability, battery life, and what is MOST important, I have problems with microphone. I'm not sure if its ROM related or its hardware problem, but sometimes when I do calls, there is problem of hearing what im saying. Not sure, if the phone is using microphone from back of Le Max 2 on my ROM (LineageOS atm) or what.
So, maybe there is good ROM with implemented microphone configuration tool maybe?
Please, help me finding best ROM that will fit me
I used the following 3 Oreo ROMs
1. RR
2. Havoc (Initial Built)
3. DU
All the above ROMs are equally good. Currently using DU latest build.
Initially installed RR ROM and used more than a month since 20/3/2018. I don't face any issue with RR. Later I jumped into Havoc ROM on 26/4/2018 due to not received any updates on RR. But I faced camera focus issue in Havoc ROM. I am unable to use camera due to this. Hence I jumped into DU ROM from today.

Good OSS Roms for Mi A3

Hello, actually I use crdroid on mi a3, due to many bugs im seeking for another better rom.
Unfortunately, as I was reading we have few roms getting updated(and lineage is dead), but almost every rom developers starting to force gapps preinstalled, so if anyone have seen any MiA3 rom without google spyware please reply here. Seems that only crdroid keeps full clean, and its bad for community be forced to use proprietary software.
Try bliss it doesn't have gapps

This thread says that it does.

"Gapps already inside. (prebuilt with ROM)"
miui 12 have much option and features and you can choose cn or eu but for good battery usage try stock rom or CrDroid.
but by working on miui 12, you can get better results.

Custom ROMSs Vs GSI

I just got a Moto G Power, replacing a UMIDIGI Power 3(don't ask). I'm currently on the stock ROM and rooted.
I'm hoping to move to a custom ROM.. Can someone let me know which custom ROM is the most stable and consistently updated? Looking for one that is kept security patch updated.
Also, has anyone tried to flash a GSI?
I can try all of these myself, just trying learn by shortcut.

I've tested a couple of times out on here which were the OmniRom and the Pixel experience. I like certain features on the Pixel experience but I think Omnirom is a bit more stable and things work better on Omnirom. I'm currently on Pixel Experience which has a few notable problems such as that I get a camera error on PE and the Bluetooth won't connect to my speakers on PE. But I like the ringtones and notification sounds better on PE. Don't get me wrong. The PE is still a usable rom though.
I tried OmniRom, Havoc, RRMix and Erfan Generic Gsi(This one was Android 11). Decided to stick to Havoc as I like customization and Havoc is next to RRMix in this. RRMix would have been my choice but I was unable to install Viper4Android successfully and hence had to settle down with the next best (Havoc with November 5 Security patch). All of them were otherwise stable. Omni was on March Security Patch if I remember right. Can't say about the update frequency as It's just over 3 weeks for me. Have fun!!.
havoc seems to be the only rom that's up to date with security patches. that's what I'm running.
Havoc. It just works and can be beautiful.
