audible ready beep - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

When I activate google with a voice command I no longer get an audible ready beep and unable to get voice toolbar on home screen. Anybody else having this problem using Google Now launcher.
Is it normal for the device to be listed as pixel even though I'm using the Google Now launcher under Google settings

Plz dont use beta version , mine had same bug

I have setting up as English(us), whatever I say, the result always is "mmm"
I have try recording voice at Webos, it is OK, but not working at android !
Have you tried voice search on another device? Reason I ask is last year I had issues with voice search returning jibberish when I used it, problem was with the voice data they collected getting screwed up online. If voice search fails on another device that's most likely the cause. You can clear the data in your Google account.
i think i might have misunderstood you. I use the actual google voice app for texting and I can search fine. there is another app call Voice Search which is completely different.
In any case, Voice Search app does not recognize that I say.

Good to hear that I am not alone !
have you try using "Sound Recorder" app from Alpha 3, It is not working for me as well, the sound record got abnormal playback. the sound record only work on WebOS ! Sad.....
Google voice search from the market does not work for me either, but.... the mic button on smart keyboard pro does work. It works pretty good, especially if you talk directly into the top of the touchpad where the mic is. Just thought I'd let you guys know. FWIW the voice recording app ALSO works for me. it sounds a bit muffled, but it does record and playback legibly.

Yes there is. Make sure you have updated to the latest ROM (EU is B380)
1 - Backup all your stuff with Huawei native app
2 - Factory reset and let it boot
3 - Setup your google account and nothing more. Also don´t restore any apps yet.
4 - Test incoming calls when screen is off.
5 - Setup Huawei account
7 - Install Skype and it will restore itself call and chat history
8 - Test Skype (I have problems with it but I have 2 additional devices with the same account at the same time that rings at the same time so it might be just me)
9- Install fresh remaining communications apps like Whatsapp. From my experience when you restore from backup they will bug the notifications, so it´s better a fresh install while just restoring the chat history from backup.
10 - Setup maximum priority for communication apps notification
11 - If you feel it´s necessary you can also set those apps not to be closed and be automatically launched at startup.

No,
just open Telephon Manager
Enable Notification Manager and then check the config
you also have to allow the apps in autostart manager
and protect them

I think its a huawei-wide problem, No Fix as får as i know
So there is no solution, just to wait and hope they will fix it. And how about rooting and putting some other ROM? Is there any stable ROM for PLK-TL01H?

It's probably cuz these are third party apps
It's from Play Store.
I also tried with b170 and b360 update. I dont have the notification problem in my Honor 7 Indian Version..
Most notification problems comes from restoring those apps from backup.
If you just install a fresh app after factory reset and then ONLY restore app history (if needed as Skype doesnt need) you shouldnt get any notification problem.
Well phone is new, there is no any backup. I tried factory reset, same problem. I am waiting 14 days for huawei unlock code, i will root phone and then move apps from data/app to system/app, that should solve the problem. I am on EMUI 4.0.1 so that's all with marshmallow, everything else is working ok.

'Ok Google' voice phone unlocking doesn't work.

Hi,
As you may have known, ok Google issue has been solved in recent miui 10 stable update. Now it offers to unlock the device using voice match even when the display is turned off.
Now even I say ok Google when the screen is turned off, it does wake the device but it's still locked and it shows me pattern unlock.
How to unlock the device so that I can pass an actual command to Google assistant?
Thanks
My phone just updated to MIUI Global 10.0 (10.0.4.0 OEJMIFH) and it was fixed.
Now I can say 'Ok Goolge' and it opens assistant.
Phone unlocking by voice command is disabled by miui and afaik even Google is removing this feature from assistant, security reasons probably

Yes, I did that. It does wake up the device but doesn't unlock it.
Edit: Sorry. I wasn't facing the same issue. I was facing the issue where the Google Assistant wasn't working properly, and it would show me the error "unable to open microphone".
I found the solution on the MIUI forums. Here's what I did...
You have to go to the Google app in "Installed Apps" and clear the cache and the data and reboot, and it'll start working fine.
It was a little tricky to find the Google app as it wouldn't show in the Installed Apps. You have to click on the 3 dots on the upper right side corner and select "Show all apps" and then it'll show up. After that, you just clear the cache and the data and reboot phone, and it'll start working properly
Nevertheless, I tried your solution and it didn't work either way.
Ok Google straight up doesn't work for me
Delete data, clear cache, udpate app. This worked for me

Don't get your hopes high about this feature's implementation on OEMs. Google were already silently phasing-out this feature and the OEMs will soon to follow.

It sort of works for me (Stable 10.0.6.0). However, following those instructions it only wakes the phone, but doesn't unlock. But - after getting to that point, I went into the Google assistant, settings, voice, voice match and it let me select the slider - gave me a warning about being less secure, and then it woke up AND unlocked via voice.
Unfortunately, it then failed to do it the next time I tried it and asked for my pattern/face. Not sure if it requires log in sometimes and not others, or if the first time was just luck!
At one point it would wake up and let me ask a question, but only read or show me the answer when I unlocked, but now it won't even do that, so basically it's completely inconsistent! hurrah!
Clearly some sort of security issue - whether it's Xiaomi or Google's fault is up for debate, but if Google are removing it from their flagship then I wouldn't be surprised if it never works properly on anything else.
If they would only get Trusted Places working properly (Google that is) or even allow trusted Wifi (I know the security implications but I'm prepared to accept them!) then it would probably not be necessary.
I could keep it unlocked with my watch, but then I find that (despite pocket mode) my phone regularly does random things while in my pocket!
I had similar issues with my Mate 10 Pro, that I've just changed from, so it's not solely Xiaomi's fault, but is it really too much to ask to expect Android features that are offered to actually work out of the box?!

You're right. But if it had worked then it would have been a great party trick. I never had a phone which could wake up with an audio command.

The irony is that I've just switched from a Huawei Mate 10 Pro (Various reasons, but flaky bluetooth top of the list) and that did do it after the last update. That's because they have their own voice recognition baked in to the Kirin chipset though I think, so it's not using just Google's voice match - and even that took a lot of fiddling to get working. No idea how secure it was, but it was handy for finding the phone by asking it where it was! I refuse to talk to my phone in public anyway, so it's something I can live without I think

"Ok Google" works once, then I have to wait one minute for it work again.

Hi, I had this issue with my note 4 stock rom (6.0.1), so installed a custom rom that worked fine for about 2 days. Then, suddenly, the problem appears again. I say "ok Google" and the command. Works fine. If I need to say a second command, it does not work. I need to wait for about a minute, then "OK Google" works again. And wait another minute for a third command.
Reinstalled the apps , cleared cache, battery is not on economy mode, retrained my voice model and nothing seems to work. Anyone had this problem? Need help. Thanks.

why is it happening?

Guess I found a temporary solution my friend. Went to apkmirror.com and downloaded Google App 8.55.3 beta by Google LLC, the most recent. Mine was 8.44 but could not upgrade even on playstore. Disabled automatic updates on playstore too. As my phone is rooted, I was able uninstall my old version and installed this 8.55 beta. Now works like a charm. Try it!

Question Google Phone app on Find N2 not showing incoming calls?

I have had my Oppo Find N2 (fold) for a week now and been busy trying to get everything working properly.
Am getting there but still have some notification issues (I need to read up more on this) but one bigger issue is as follows:
I am using the Google Phone (sailer) app in place of the Oppo one as I couldn't get all my google contacts to appear it it, I have all my contacts there using the google phone app but whenever I get any phone calls the phone rings but no indication of the incoming call on the screen either if phone is unlocked or locked.
I have to swipe down to see the call and then answer from there which is a pain..
How to I get the in coming calls to show up properly!?
Cheers FROSTY
