Gboard Missing Unicode 9.0 Emoji - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having an issue where the new Unicode 9.0 emoji are missing from my Gboard. I have updated the keyboard to the latest version as of the time of this post (6.0.79) and I can see the new emoji in apps and browsers it's just that the keyboard does NOT display them. I have also noticed that I'm missing the frowning face emoji (this one ☹)
I'm using a Galaxy S6 edge running on Android 6.0.1.
Is anyone else having the same issue? Or should I simply just wait for Google to update the keyboard?

I came across your post by searching for a solution on Google. I have the exact same issue with Gboard 6.1 + Nougat 7.0 on my Galaxy S7 edge. Swiftkey displays the new emojis correctly though (stock Google ones, iOS 10 ones, etc.) but Gboard doesn't.

IOS6 Emoji Support in Android 4.2

Plain and simple, I can't find a way to swap the ugly green Emoji's with the nice colorful IOS6 ones and it's frustrating. On top of that, any of the newer Emoji's from IOS6 don't even show up in 4.2 (only the IOS5 ones do). I use Kii Keyboard which allows you to input all of the IOS6 emoji with ease on my Samsung Galaxy S3 running CM10.1 nightlies.
Specifics:
SCH-I535
Android 4.2.1
CM10.1 - 20130102-NIGHTLY-d2vzw
Kii Keyboard
Stock MMS (native emoji enabled)
How can I use the 'new' IOS6 Emoji's across the whole 4.2 platform and not see the Android versions?
I would like to do that too

Missing/Uncolored Emojis in Android 5.x.x?

Ever since I updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, I've noticed a few missing/black and white emojis.
The most prominent missing emojis are ✌ (peace sign), ☝ (hand with finger pointing up), and ♥ (the classic heart).
Since then, I have updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the emojis are still missing.
My attached screenshots are from Android 5.1 Lollipop.
In KitKat, all the missing emojis were there, and were all colored. I have no idea why Lollipop removed them. All of these emojis show up in Google Keyboard, making it odd and inconsistent to see missing emojis.
Is there a fix for this?

Swiftmoji question

So I'm using this new Swiftmoji keyboard and they have a feature where it'll show the diverse emoji after you long press. Problem is this feature only works with Android nougat. I have a rooted device with marshmallow, and the modified emojis to show diverse emojis, and it works fine with Google, and chrooma keyboard. My question is how can I "trick" the keyboard to think I'm on nougat to get this feature working? I've tried editing the build number in the build.prop but it didn't work.

Gboard - Emojis Button Missing

Hello,
I have the Mi Pad 4 with the original Chinese / English ROM - MIUI 10.1 Stable (Android 8.1). I installed Gboard, the latest and same version as on my phone (OnePlus 3T) - 7.8.7.224351926-release-arm64-v8a and for some reason in 'Preferences' I cannot see 'Show emoji-switch key' on the tablet.
Does anyone know why or experiencing the same issue? Thank you.
Confirmed, probably a compatibility problem. I can see the switch under Gboard, Preferences, to Show emojis in symbols keyboard and that works fine.

Question emoji redesigns / emoji 15 - where do they come from?

Does anyone know which component updates emoji these days? It's fairly confusing. It used to come with Android OS updates, but they've changed things up since then.
Case in point - in the last few days I suddenly have the redesigns (most of which are for hand gestures) that were first revealed (not released for Android) back in September. My phone can also read and display the new emojis that are part of Emoji 15, also shown at the same time in September. I can also copy and paste them. However, none of the new ones show up in my Gboard, so I cannot type them. My Gboard was last updated in January, with no new updates pending (ver 12.6.02) . I am on Jan 5 OS, and Feb 1 Google Play Services.
What gave me the redesigns? Why don't I have the new ones? How does this work?
