Galaxy gear s3 - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Accessories

I've had my P905V almost since they came out, and right from the beginning I've wanted to get a smart watch that I could use with it. Especially since I use GrooveIP for my phone.
I had done some research and thought that the Galaxy Gear s3 was compatible (not sure where I saw that now) but here I am with a $300 watch, and it won't sync with my tablet.
Does anyone know how to successfully run the Gear Manager app from the NotePro, or have any other suggestions?

I use the Asus zenwatch 2 successfully with my P905V so I think android wear watches are compatible. (The Gear S3 is Tiezen though rather than android wear so I cant confirm there)
the Samsung website says the Gear S3 is not compatible with tablets but its possible they just blocked access to download the app.
you might try side loading it to see if it still runs.

I use gear s/S2 With it. Just see the info howto install gearmanager on none sumsung.

Gear manager & Note 4 Verizon

I have an unlocked Gear S and it paired to my Note 4 flawlessly. The issue I am having is that when I click the link for Samsung Gear Apps (from the Gear Manager) it take me to Galaxy Essentials not Gear Essentials. When I search Gear apps nothing pops up. I can't find a way to get any additional apps. Help!
Have you tried reinstalling the Galaxy appstore?

Thanks for the reply. I tried that with no luck. The interesting part is that I paired the watch with my wife's S5 and it went straight to the gear app store (from the gear manager) with no issues. I am not sure what to do now.
After a very frustrating day trying everything I can think of and 4 Samsung techs (who couldn't figure it out either) I did what everyone hates to do....a factory reset. But that resolved the issue.

Gear Fit 2 cant connect to my z3 tablet compact.

Hi
I tried many things to connect my Fit 2 to my z3 tablet compact but nothing
works. Open fit always says connection failed. I dont know what to do else.
I tried it on 5.0.2 and now I am on 6.0.1.
Also I installed the gear Fit plugin. I cant install the gear Fit manager.
Hi! It happened to me with a xiaomi redmi3 pro.
You need to install the apps "Samsung Accessory Service", "Gear Fit2 Plugin" and "Samsung Gear".
Good luck!!

Hey guys, did you manage to connect GearFit2 with any Tablet?
Yes and No and I spent a couple of hours being shuffled around to the most unhelpful people who determined it is not supposed to work with tablets, only phones so they would not support it on a tablet. However, I could get it to work on an old tab 3 lite, running an older rom than required but not on the Tab S2. Couldn't instal the required drivers... Google app store says no. Samsung is playing their games again. Don't know why I expected anything else from them.

SOLVED: Samsung Gear S will not download apps through Samsung Gear Manager on Galaxy

OK, this only took me all night to solve, and since I couldn't find anything in all of the Samsung and other Android help forums, I thought I'd put this here, just in case it might help someone else.
Just got a refurb Samsung Gear S, which I like quite a lot. Have a Samsung Galaxy 3 phone, so I figured I was set. I downloaded Samsung Gear Manager App from the Play Store. It recognized my Gear S, set up the preinstalled apps, and I thought all was good. Tried to download the tizen endomoto running app through the Gear S, and it says I have to do it through the Samsung Gear Manager.
Fine, go open it up, and touch the "download galaxy apps" button, and it flashes, and does nothing. I can update the smart watch software, communicate to the phone, etc - but the "download" button just flashes at me. Tried everything - reset the Gear S, re-paired, nada. Set the Galaxy 3 back to factory settings, reinstalled Samsung Gear Manager, same problem.
Turns out you have to install the Samsung Galaxy App store. You'd think this would happen automatically on a Samsung phone, but no. And of course, if you go to the Google Play Store, there is no Samsung Galaxy App store to install (except in Spanish, go figure). Since I don't read enough spanish to understand that this would work, I uninstalled it. But Samsung does put out apk's to install the Samsung Galaxy App store in English. You just have to find them. In this case, they are here:
Well, ****, XDA won't let me put in a URL because I'm a newbie. So do a Google search on "install samsung app store apk" and the top hit should be to apkmirror.com. You'll find it there.
Installed this (which also installs Samsung push and a few other things), and tada! you can donwload through the Samsung Gear Manager.
That was 12 hours of my life I won't get back - I hope this save you all some of yours.
BTW, really like the watch.
you rock

Gear S + Pixel XL

Reposting this in a separate new thread after also posting in the sticky tutorial for others searching on google how to get the Pixel to work with the Gear S.
"I have a Pixel XL and tried to use the above steps to connect my Gear S to the phone.
When I try to install "Samsung Gear_com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager_2.2.14100299_2114100299" the phone says it is corrupt and cannot be installed.
When the gear manager is launched, it cannot find the watch at all. But using the regular bluetooth connection method from androids bluetooth settings does allow me to connect it to the phone. But manager still does not detect/activate the watch...
Please help! I have gotten way too used to the watch to get along without it..."
I was able to download and install gear manager from play store without any issues. Still doesn't connect to my gear s though. Says it can't find, even when I reset the watch. I need help to. Don't want to return my pixel, but love my gear s

The Gear Manager which you downloaded from Play Store does not connect to Gear S. It only works with Gear S2. This has been confirmed by Samsung that Gear S can only connect to a Samsung phone. Currently I'm using a spare Galaxy Note 3 to synchronise with Gear S for S Health tracking.

Tested on my xperia Z5C and not see also works with my Fit2. So we must wait for an update ....
I am going through the same issue, and after spending eternity with high level techs on the phone and in person at a Samsung store, I found that the answer lies in the Gear S. The last firmware update for the watch was early this year, and the watch itself cannot communicate with Nougat. Even though Gear Manager will communicate with Nougat. Right now we are at the mercy of Samsung to update the Firmware for a 3 year old device, that has been replaced by 2 generations...

Port apk to tpk

Hello, I want to install other apps other than the ones from Samsung Store, I wonder if it's possible to port/convert apk app to tpk and install it on the watch. I have Samsung Galaxy Watch. I can already sign and install tpk apps using sdb to the watch, but I want to install apps like reddit/discord/tiktok.
If i remember correctly, there was an app for the Z-series of Samsung phones called AndroZen which did exactly that. I dunno if it can run on a Gear S or Galaxy Watch though.
If you test it, can you attach a photo or video of it in action. I'm really curious to see proper phone apps running on the Galaxy Watch.
Too bad i just installed Android on my Gear S, i would have tested installing .tpk files on it, because i thought it only was able to install .wgt files.

I tried running Androzen apps, it just keeps on loading forever, and because of watch's resolution the app layout is a bit messed up, I didn't make any photos, maybe I will try to install it again and I will make some photos then.

Oh, that's unfortunate.
I remembered about one more thing, but it was an online service kinda thing, Polaris App Generator.
Here is a demo video of that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXnzBJzMIQ4&ab_channel=κΉ€μˆ˜ν•œ
I really doubt it still works. Tizen was pretty fun back in the day, tbh. Plus it was realeased around 2013, so Android 4.2.x. I don't think there is much support left, considering it's not even 4.4.x which is still somewhat supported, but mostly on the way out.
