Ok!! Time to get these babies flying...

Perfect! I'm very curious to see the results, but very disappointed there's almost no activity on here for this phone.
I'd be willing to ditch the LG v20 dual sim for the 570KL 6GB/64GB version with root successfully working, ability to use and control lightflow app and install xposed (etc). If someone has tried/testing, please post your results....don't be shy!

Root is working without a hitch.
Haven't tried xposed or lightflow, but there's no reason it shouldn't work.
Some people have reported issues with magisk, so just install the regular version of xposed for Android 6 instead of the magisk container.

Who has reported it? There's about 6 or 7 people that post in this forum and since the phones release mid last year, it doesn't seem like the XDA community for this model is growing at all. Great to hear root is working without any hiccups.
If you have the phone, can you by chance download lightflow and perhaps make a 5-10sec video of it working? I really miss the LED on my v20...

An unknown error occured, which my be a network connection issue please try again later. What is this? Is there something wrong with my phone?

Just wondering if this unlock tool is still working on last Nougat firmware update from ASUS.

I think only 4 people in the world must use this phone. Forum is dead...

They updated the unlock tool to work with nougat.

Unlock tool for nougat
I'm not getting it, my phone is z3dlx 6/256/821, I already bought it with Android nougat installed, wanted to unlock the bootloader, and get root access, but at the time of unlocking it asks for a pin, and then only restarts normally, could help me?

Not working for me either. Unknown Error Network issue.

Same problem for me with last nougat update.
App starts, it requests pin, I skip and follow procedure, reboot and nothing, phone still locked.

For who is interested, I found the problem:
when you upgrade to the last firmware, the zip file that you should use to unlock the phone will not be recognized by system because it's an older version than the last one. This means that ASUS should provide a new zip file which is compatible with the last Nougat update.
Hope someone found a solution....

Redmi Note 3 32GB Mediatek version - unlock bootloader

Hi, I need help. My girlfriend bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 32GB / 3GB RAM Mediatek Helio X10 version.
I want to upgrade the firmware because it needs an upgrade. Since she bought it, February, it didn't updated one single time, and it has some bugs that upset her. So, here is the problem.
I already asked for permission from Xiaomi to unlock the bootloader, and already got it. When I tried to unlock, got the 50% problem (Current account is different from the account info on the device). Since then, tried to flash (from the Updater App) the developer ROM, also with no success (couldn't verify package).
The last option, I believe I have, is to manually flash (using MI FLASH software) the developer ROM and after that, unlock the bootloader to finally install the MIUI 8.0 (that's the goal of all this, with the unlocked bootloader).
So, how can I do this? Suggestions, tips, tutorials, guides or experiences, everything is welcome!
You have to go to latest Beta/developer Version and the Unlock should work...
Else just Update miui, because maybe the Bugs are fixed

I already solved it by 'hard flashing" the miUI 8... because that's the version she wanted. Didn't try to flash the miUI 6 [developer] because I was lazy, but mainly because I didn't see any gains for her from doing it [unlocking the bootloader].
Thank you 2 for the replies!
Hi Guys,
I've been searching for 2 days now for a clear guide on how to unlock the bootloader for the Mediatek version and haven't found anything other than the official way. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks.

Questions about Redmi note 3 SD

I'm sorry if this is a repeat thread , if so please post a link.
I have a few questions about the redmi note 3 SD:
1. Should I have android marshmallow? From what I have researched the phone should have an update to marshmallow but the phone is currently on 5.1.1 and MIUI 8.0.6.0 and cannot find any updates. Is this an issue or will it update soon?
2. Using trepn profiler the cores never seem to go to sleep , always at a minimum of 691MHz. An old snapdragon s4 play can put its cores to sleep, why isn't this phone doing it? Would this affect battery life?
3. Is there a way to disable 4G? I dont need 4G on as the phone doesn't support my carriers bands , would this also increase battery life?
Thank you any help
1. Did you unlock your bootloader? I've used the Marshmallow MIUI version before (Currently using AospExtended 7.1.1) and it should be able to find one. It's been available for a very long time already.
2. Are you using stock kernel?
3. go to mobile network settings

1. No, I assumed that I would get system updates without unlocking the bootloader. Do you need to?
2. Yep, stock MIUI. Does this not do it?
Thank you
You may want to do a clean flash since some of the vendors will install a rooted rom, in which case, i don't believe you will get an OTA.
http://en.miui.com/download-301.html
Also if you disable miui optimisation in developer settings, OTA will not work.
My best advice to you:
Flash in EDL mode latest developer fastboot ROM with MiFlash...

1. Yes you would get system updates without unlocking bootloader, you don't need to unlock it. And you might not get system updates if you unlock it (not sure because i've only used MIUI for a few weeks). I recommend you to flash an official MIUI ROM, because you might be in a vendor rom and they might have tampered with stuff that made updates unavailable. You might want to try @goofball2k and @dennis's advice.
2. I've used CPU-Z to check my cpu states before when I was still in MIUI and I can see that it is sleeping the cores just fine. Usually 4 little cores are alive and big cores sleep in light workloads.
Thank you
What is the latest MIUI stable version?
I seem to find 8.1 or 8.2, while the seller says it is 8.0?
Also, for me CPU-Z shows 4x691 and 2x883 MHz so I assume something is wrong
Thank you once again

ASUS ROG Phone 3 (ZS661KS) - Stock factory firmware downloads (Untested)

Hi all,
I know the phone was just announced and nobody outside of reviewers has the device yet, but I thought I would share some firmware downloads for archival purposes. I have not personally tested these, but hopefully, they'll come in handy down the road for anyone looking to restore their device back to stock.

Edit 1: ASUS has published the full OTA package for software version WW-V17.0823.2007.25. You can download it here along with the kernel source code and bootloader unlock tool.

I don't know - this is totally untested. I suspect the same steps as the ROG Phone II (but with slight tweaks here and there) will work on the ROG Phone 3 to convert from CN to WW. When I converted my CN ROG Phone II to WW, it wasn't that difficult to do, but that came off the backs of dozens of users experimenting to get the steps down right. Here, nobody has tried it yet, so I can't say how it'll go...

That is the reason I suggest a video tutorial, or at least photos.
flash WW rom is not a big deal, just use ROM in previous post, entering fastboot mode then execute flashall_AFT.cmd from PC (don't use OPEN_* version).
But I don't know how to change it's fingerprint from CN to WW, some articles said need to root to change the value inside /vendor/factory/COUNTRY file. But I cannot find suitable recovery for my ROG 3 CN version, TWRP for ROG3 not release yet.

Yea just wait for the official tutorial. Cn rom isnt that bad too able to watch Netflix as well:laugh:
My one almost success, but a bit problem : cannot use Google Pay and Netflix.
I also used tools payload dumper to extract .img files and Magisk to root it to change /vendor/factory/COUNTRY if you're interesting and already experience with them.
Detail I still need to investigate to solve my current problems, so not announce here in case you also get the trouble

Hello ,
I Root some of my Xiaomi more or less knowing the procedures.
I may purchase REALME 7 Pro & if the very first step unlock bootloader using Indepth test apk., can use on this model ? not necessary a must match version of Indepth text apk ?
also, is Readme OS accept Magisk root by patching the boot.img without using TWRP ?
( similar procedures as ROOTING on Xiaomi devices ...taking out boot.img from formware ....using Magisk to patch image...... flash it back & forth between devices & computer...without using TWRP. )
Thank you very much.

Hey I wouldn't suggest rooting or unlocking bootloader even if it is simple as ABC because this device is going to get updates for sure so it wouldn't be wise yet.

You get the point !!
Unfortunately , I M-U-S-T root this as I'm required to use TASKER heavily due to my work ( and my own interest in tasker )
On Xiaomi devices they are an easy life since I've been following every firmware updates , then I download separately this firmware on my desktop, root this back by MAGISK_PATCH_BOOT.img ( sort of like you know what I mean )
There is no need no hassle to make Xiaomi root again after the firmware updates. Most importantly Xiaomi not require to re-install all apps by using above methods after firmware updates.
I hope this realme 7 pro using the same procedures. ( I just have made the purchase from India to DHL me at USD375.00 )
Thanks!

If you are really impatient you can try to gain temporary root and extract the boot.img using any app or ADB commands even magisk root via ADB is possible afaik I myself am waiting for the kernel and bootloader unlock but I feel this phone was launched in an early state to compete against Xiaomi phones in the same price range. Now unfortunately for us consumers this means till Android 11 update kernel sources might not be public but most probably after that it might be possible and if you use root for YouTube vanced and stuff I think there is a non root method but it's very irritating.

I use TASKER and you now know which is why I need to damn deeptest.apk
temporary root is somewhat a good idea however is not fit in my case since my realme 7 pro bought over e-bay India so that anything brick I seems have big trouble sending back & forth for repair.
It is still good hints about temporary root as I never heard of ................
Hope I'm not soon to say goodbye & sell it due to long time waiting and without root. ., it happened on me once on the Vivo 19 that I sold it when I confirm it definately not root-friendly.
Thank you very much !!!!

I have already unlocked the bootloader. But we will have to wait till kernel source code is released for custom recovery and rooting.
