Battery Optimization reoptimizing apps that were set to not be optimized - Moto Z Questions & Answers

I am using the Moto Z Force on Android 7.0 with Janurary's security update. I go into battery optimization to select apps that I do not want optimized such as netguard or tasker and it works fine for the day. However, the next day I see that they are now being optimized and I go into the settings to check and they are indeed marked as optimizing app instead of do not optimize. Does anyone have any idea on why it is doing this? Is it a bug in 7.0 that was fixed in 7.1+? I ran android 7.1.1 on my Moto X 2014 before and did not run into this issue.

Yes and read OP please.
This ROM is awesome. It is pretty stable too. The boot logo is not very appealing. I will keep using it. No bug so far.

I have found one issue, with the phone app. When I try to call someone it doesn't show the call being forwarded,so you can't end the call. And When I am called I can't pick up since there is no prompt for accepting or rejecting call. A problem with the Google dialer maybe.

I ve been using it since last night. receiving texts emails and phone calls, its worth the effort . its a lovely rom.
The battery is pretty terrible, it cant charge while playing, it was draining while charhing so fast, i ofc did a clean install, camera app fails a lot as well, and you cant set every live wallpaper from pixel wallpaper changer it force closes.. i hope in the future you can fix these the rom felt smooth until i started playing games and noticed it wasnt charging while playing..
Hi Dev.
I wiped my data and installed your rom. Everything was perfect. But the galaxy wearable app was force closing.
Could you please help me to solve this problem.
Best regards

Wait what XD. Never experienced this bug. Maybe a charging cable issue? Also, there are two cameras included. GCam isn't as stable as stock by a long shot, so use stock if GCam crashes too much.
Also abt Gear Wearable. Since I extensively debloated this ROM, it is possible I removed something that I shouldn't have. Not to worry, I will release an update next month (Not now because of exams)

Im back on my old 9.0 rom and everything is working just fine, i dont know what the issue was here, but ill check the update when its ready thanks!
Please add Adapt Sound feature if possible in a future build.
Fast, smooth and stable rom. But it has really bad battery usage. The older one(teampixel oreo) vas great at battery usage.
Also i can't find the "Power saving mode". There is no toggle in notification bar and i cant find a way to enable it in settings menu. Anyyone know is it possible to use Power saving mode on this rom?

Hello! The reason battery life was significantly better on Oreo was due to Oreo having a fully working Phantom Kernel! At this point, I'm just waiting for an update to that kernel, so that I can incorporate it, into the ROM, along with adapt sound, Dual Messenger, Gear 360 bug fix and Screen Write (Samsung Capture) since that it the only "useful" Note Feature that can't just be simply added back. I'll also be incorporating a few tweaks here and there to improve performance where possible! Keep an eye out for V1.1

Alternative to Game Tuner on Android Pie

It is my first time consulting in XDA apologies for any errors in advance. My query is if there is something that can be used to replace Game Tuner, in Android Pie it does not work anymore and it lacks the option to improve the Hardware Performance. Using an S8 + and in games is like using an S4 for current games without Game Tuner, the performance is really bad. Apart from the option to go back to Android Oreo, is there any way to improve the performance of Hardware?:confuso::Rodar los ojos::llorando:

That's weird, there are multiple Pixel 4 users on Telegram that don't have issues with it. Could you get your phone working again and then do the following: reboot, go into developer options, tap bug report, share the bug report via gmail, then email it to [email protected]. I removed support for prototype versions of Pixel 4 but maybe I removed support for a Pixel 4 variant that's in production.

If I find out what version it is I can just add support back. Do you think I should add back support for all of the different prototypes, or is there only one prototype version circulating around?
Also, how did you even get a prototype?

New build is up with some fancy under-the-hood improvements.
The January 28th kernel has been reuploaded as a January 29th build because i messed up the 28th build. If you managed to get the 28th build before I removed it, please install the 29th build. Cheers.
Just discovered that I made another small mistake in the update, so I've uploaded it again as a January 30th build.
I made another derp that broke some system-wide sound effects (such as touch sounds), so I've uploaded a new kernel with the bug fixed. We're living in the future now, boiz.
New build is up.
New build is up with overheating fixed.
I learned that the DP out function has been soft-disabled by Google, even though the USB-C port supports it. Any chance of enabling that in the kernel?

Idk, it might need ROM support. I'd have to test it, but more likely than not, it isn't as simple as you may think.
New build is up with the March fixes and lots of performance improvements I made.
hi, silly question, after flashing, can i lock the bootloader again ? (supposing i temporarily installed TWRP just for flashing) otherwise, any way to get google pay working ? thanks

Usually not a good idea re-locking the bootloader with non-official software.
You can pass safetynet and use google pay with magisk and a couple modules, if you need more info you can take a look at a post I wrote some time ago, should still work fine now.
As of today, there is also a new useful module: universal safetynet fix. I have installed them all, and I can use gpay just fine
Thank you for your answer. however i never managed to install this kernel using TWRP since TWRP only supports android 10, not 11, so recovery got stuck on splash screen. So basically until we get TWRP support for android 11, no other way to install this kernel without root ?

Yeah, I own the 12 GB RAM model and often I consume all the available memory. Can you elaborate on improve background management? Kill more applications proactively?
We are looking to having android 12 urgently as we are testing android 13 on our pixel 6pro, not happy with software support from OPPO
maybe oppo is waiting for Android 12L to be released ? (for foldable devices)
I am sure they will rollout Android 12 soon as our device is the premium flagship for Oppo.

Yup that make sense
Just got PEUMoo_11_A.16... Still Android 11...
This bites as there are features that are available on Android 12 that WON'T work on Android 11...
Thought this was a flagship device...
I know that they're waiting for the version of Android that supports foldables but why haven't they upgraded us to 12 now.? Just as easy to update from 12 as 11...

Question Sam Tab A7 Lite LTE, any working solution to laggyness

Hi Members
I purchased a Tab A7 Lite, didn't realise just how much lag this tablet suffers.
I did removed unnecessary apps, and did the ADB mod process to turn Ram plus off.
I haven't removed any Bixby or Sam's Free apps Vis ADB
Is their a magic bullet to resolve the laggy, stutter? it's most noticeable when swiping through the OS or One UI launcher on the device.
Has anyone found a solution maybe a lighter Launcher or custom ROM for the A7 Lite.
Failing any solutions, maybe a member knows of an 8 inch Android tablet that has good performance for £200 to £300.
Help is appreciated from members.

Try turning on Reduce transparency and blur in Visual Enhancement
One more thing ...
I found if we go to settings > display > screen zoom and increase the zoom level, it will make this tablet more smooth.
I feel it is acceptable. But I will try to install some custom rooms soon.
I am using A12.
Thanks you to both members, I've done as you have advised, I'll see if there's a marked noticeable improvement over all, and post back if it's a positive improvement to my A7 Lite's performance.
I'll keep my eye on the A7 Lite's forum posts, as custom ROM's start to get created and installed.
Regards to you both
Just one quick mention, I also turn on the 'Reduce Animation effects' switch in Visual Enhancements, I think that's also help...
Normally it's inadvisable to clear RAM on Android devices but clearing RAM worked for me on this device. Every so often when I encountered stutter after turning off RAMPlus I had to clear the RAM. Eventually the system adjusted to having a smaller RAM space and I no longer had to do this.
Degoogle tab mostly and samsung bloatware including account.
Try A7cleanup.sh for easy setup
If the device is unlocked and rooted SM-T220 wifi only and using Android 12 stock or gsi customAP based on a12 try this kernel I have compiled for mine :
* Features :
- Android 12 Only Supported.
- Permissive kernel.
(ViperFx sound mod can be installed)
- Wireguard Enabled.
- DragonRise Generic Gamepad Enabled.
- Hard Optimized Compiler Cflags Used.
- Audit and Dynamic debuging disabled via kernel command line.
- Used Recent Toolchain.
( clang 14 + gnu binutils 2.40 )
How to install :
Install Smartpack Kernel Manager And Backup current running kernel
Then flash the boot img attached .
Share your results.
I'm sharing it because my device works much better reduced lags and much more but here is the disclaimer I'm not responsible for any bricked device .
