[GUIDE] Lock landscape orientation using the original quick settings tile (OOS4) - OnePlus 3T Themes, Apps, and Mods

I am sure many miss the ability to lock the rotation whether if you are in landscape mode or portrait mode. But as you may know, on OOS4 (Nougat) when you lock the rotation it goes back to portrait mode.
After trying many apps I found a solution that is actually better than what I was looking for. My intention was to find an extra tile but instead I found out that this app will modify de behaviour of the existing tile. So when you are in landscape and lock the rotation it will stay locked in landscape mode. Just like the old days.
To do that just download this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate
Then set it up like in the screen shots attached and you're done.
The only drawback is that you need a license after 7 days.
Hope this helps.

Strange screen orientation

When using my Archos 70, I find out that the screen orientation is somehow strange.
1st - I like to use it in portrait. However, I cannot make the screen 'lock' to portrait orientation. The 'lock' feature only supports landscape orientation
2nd - Even in portrait mode, when using some apps, the orientation is inverted (such as z4root). Seems Archos makes the default portrait position to be like 'power button at the bottom and the USB at the top). However..... I think most of you will agree that we all like the power button AT THE TOP.
So, is there a way to fix the orientation (default) to portrait, with power button at the top?
Thanks for your help.
1. Yes lock is Landscape, that has to do with the stand.
2. This has to do with the way android works. Normaly view is stopped and started again with the new orientation by the os. But the developer can tell Android that it handöes this switch itself and then the app is responsible for thee switching.
So there is no way atm to change this.
Whenever I use an application (on my A101) that only works in portrait mode, the power button is always at the top.
So far I have tried with Twonky and z4root.
edit: oh, and I believe some of the launchers available will let you lock screen in portrait mode ... try Launcher Pro or ADW

ADW EX Landscape/Auto-Rotate

Is there a way to have ADW EX Auto-Rotate and Landscape only? In other words no portrait, only landscape, but able to have landscape from either side. Does that make any sense? haha, thanks!
I can get mine to lock to landscape but only in one orientation of landscape though. Haven't really looked into too deeply though
Orientation Control

Orientation Control can lock the orientation to SIX modes:
1. Landscape
2. Reversed Landscape (Android 2.3.1 and above only)
3. Portrait (Same as disabling auto rotate in phone's settings)
4. Forced Portrait (Always in portrait regardless of app!)
5. Reversed Portrait (Android 2.3.1 and above only)
6. Auto Rotate

[Q] Reverse Landscape Rotation?

Okay, I'm installing the View in place of the Samsung Galaxy Tab that is in the dash of my car right now, but for ease of access to the power button, I need it rotated to REVERSE LANDSCAPE.
For some reason, the View will only go into Landscape if you turn it counter clockwise from Portrait.
Any help here?
S-Off Rooted and stock HC.
Try "rotation locker"
Once in your homescreen and with the rotation you prefer press the widget and lock it. Every app will be forced to show in that orientation.
Thank you, but the problem is you can't get it into the rotation I need.
Hold your View/Flyer in portrait, and then turn it clockwise. It stays in portrait.
Yeah it seems to only rotate ways in which the Capacative buttons are located. Maybe a DEV can unlock that feature?
I'd hope so. I found an app that will do it, but you have to LOCK it in that position. Not a problem for what I'm using it for, but still, not optimal.
Orientation Control is the app I found.

How to get rid of the rotation lock?

That is a convenience feature added by google that lets you switch the orientation when you have orientation lock enabled.
It only appears when you have the rotation locked and you rotate the phone so that it is opposite of what the orientation lock is set too. So for example if you have the phone locked in portrait orientation and you rotate the phone to landscape orientation it will appear.
Turning off the orientation lock will cause the convenience feature to not appear
Otherwise you can try the suggestion at the link below and see if it works. If it does not work I have not seen any other method(s).

[Easy Guide] Force dual screen wide view on ALL apps

Hello all!
I've seen it somewhat posted throughout the comments here but no thread on it directly. I figure the potential of this this deserves it's own thread and tutorial for those who are coming from Google to try and do exactly this without reading through a few threads.
Anyways:
How to enable Wide View on every app:
Download this app,G8x WideMode.
This puts a new icon in the top bar in the notification shade. If you don't see it, pull down twice and hit the pencil to edit the icons. Find the new one and place it somewhere near the top to keep it close by.
When the dual screen is open, tapping that will force wide screen in every app! There are some limitations:
Intent changes seem to revert the phone back to two separate pages. For instance, the mobile Reddit app Sync closes wide screen if I click any link to an external picture, video or site.
Some apps do f play nice in wide screen due to this, and you can't keep the phone permanently in the mode like a tablet, but it's a great improvement to a great phone idea.
This is super simple so I didn't think pictures were necessary, but let me know if I wasn't clear on anything or if you have problems somewhere!
This is very much appreciated! It works like a charm. It's not the floating dual screen thingy but the toggle buttons that you swipe down from the top. Make sure you add it.
Hey, this app seems to work great! I did have an issue with one app called Steam Link. Steam Link allows you to connect to a computer running Steam and remotely control it from your Android device. When I launch a game and try to use WideMode the Steam Link app refreshes and goes back to a single screen. I would love to be able to play some of my steam games over both screens.
Is there any way to make landscape apps go left/right instead of top/bottom?

I don't understand. couldn't you just auto rotate? you can also use the rotation control app to lock rotation, which helps with wide Mode

auto rotation did not work because some apps are forced landscape/portrait.
I did end up using the rotation control app with the per-app conditions. :good:
Next nice thing would be if some apps would restart at the new resolution, instead of stretching the single-screen app - some apps/games work perfectly, but others don't (and I think they should have a similar resolution compatible because I've used the axon M, which has "dual screen" retained through home with those apps).
