There's a few threads about it and about twice as many ways to do it. Do your research and you'll probably just buy the unlocked model. It helps if you have some experience with phones, build props, zips etc.

I am looking to purchase a G5 to use on Verizon network and it seems the options that will work properly on VZW are the unlocked RS988, the VZW model, and the US Cellular US992. I'm seeing several versions of the US cellular for good price on ebay but they appear locked to that network. can anyone help me know if performing sim unlock will be possible on that model so i can consider for purchase? VZW model and unlock model harder to come by and more $$.

I unlocked it through at&t homepage. no problems.
but now when insert any simcards carrier it cant register to the network.
Im from germany.

Does anyone see in the near future, that we will be able to unlock the bootloader? Also does anyone know how to have the device SIM unlocked. other than paying it off. I know there was wa way I did my OnePlus 8. Anyway thanks for any imput.

The European version doesn't need bands unlocking, I think all its supported bands are enabled, and if you bought it from a place different from your current location just change your CSC to your current location & you will be good to go, unlocking bands is for US & Canadian phones only
I bought the SM-S918B from Spain and it didn't have all the bands enabled. At least 41 wasn't for sure.
I'm trash at making videos, but this is what I did.
REQUEST: For S23 users that have ROOTED their phones! [Enable Missing Bands]
Can you please go into this thread for the S22U and see if this same method works to pop-up a Service Menu on your phones...
