[B]BUGS:[/B]
1. All Bugs presents in LX-CM11 builds.
2. Music Player in lockscreen is squeezed a bit since we’re using 140dpi. (see fix in tips & tricks)
3. Xloud sounds reducing within 5 secs. Or so. (see fix in tips & tricks)
4. And some that I might not notice..
TIPS &TRICKS!
1. For Xloud™,S-Force & ClearPhase™, when using Walkman or Movies notice that the phone speaker sound will reduce in 5 secs. Or so, that is because it both uses Soundenhancement and the system will prioritized SoundEnhancement than AudioeffectService and the system will kill the latter thus speaker sound will noticeably reduced. So comes the technique of killing SoundEnhancements for the AudioeffectService came back to service again so Xloud™,S-Force & ClearPhase™ can be activated again. By default it is system wide activated, and will only reduced if you use apps that uses soundenhancement or other player that has it's own equalizer.
Temporary Fix:
Go to Developer Option and enable "kill app back button",Open walkman player, play some music then go to Soundenhancement and long pressed the back key to kill the app,and sound will be loud again.
Or in developer option, enable "Development Shortcut", In Notification Bar long-pressed "Soundenhancement" you will see three options there, choose "FORCE-STOP",or simply without activating the "Development Shortcut" just press SoundEnhancement in Notifications and it will take you directly to the App options, you can Force-Stop it there.
for poweramp if you are using it too,you can simply disable DVC under settings/audio and sound will be loud again.
2. LockScreen Music player is squeezed a bit!not a bug i guess ..since this Rom use 140DPI, you can fix it by either enabling "Expanded Desktop"(Recommended) or maximizing the lockscreen widget in Settings/Lockscreen/Maximize widgets.
3. Bluetooth drainage is higher when your not using it than when your using it (i.e. connected to a bluetooth headset.) So please make sure to turn off the bluetooth when your not using it.
4. Kernel Boots take a lil bit longer than stocks, but the bootanimation is faster on 2nd or 3rd Reboot.

Some Audio Tips:
1. For In-Ear type headsets, you can try this as base EQ Settings and try to play some good bass music(i.e. Turn Me On by David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj)
Also enable :
Clear Stereo
Dynamic Normalizer
and play around with VPT Surrounds, I use Concert Settings.
2. For Regular Headsets, using an earphone cotton cover really makes a difference:good:
Try this Settings too.
Also enable :
Clear Stereo
Dynamic Normalizer
and play around with VPT Surrounds, I use Club Settings for this.

simply because it uses 140DPI pixel density, it fix layout issue in walkman and equalizer, btw walkman version is 8.0.A.0.3, i tried the latest version but i experienced music stuttering and often times it just dissapears from app drawer, so i used this version.. but will update when the latest version becomes stable.
Edit: anyway i also use that version by ibanez7, but i modified audio_effects.conf & audio_policy to make use of all libs that is needed by walkman app and added some libs..personally i found it sounds great..hehe
mirror needed!

How about switching from your previous rom? Do I need to install stock beta first?

Hi guys, it's been ages I haven't geeked on my phone. Should I be aware of particular problems if trying to install this rom coming from a locked Bootloader (used an exploit hack I think) + TWRP 2.8.7.0 + 5.1.1 (23.4.A.1.232) ?
Oops! /system/app/Force does not contain Force.apk, instead it contains ForceDoze_1.3.4_rev_38.apk.
Also, /system/app/fix doesn't contain fix.apk but com.pyler.mobileradioactivefix.apk.
Also, /system/app/Xposed.
Okay, no idea if you actually use linux or Windows (I guess the latter, concidering the funny characters of your rom-zip-files that are a nuscience in any shell), but if you do use linux, here's a simple and quick script that'll make all the directories for you. Just throw all apks that goes in app in app, then run the script there. Throw what ever needs to be in priv-app in to priv-app and run the script there.
Code:
#!/bin/bash
for file in ./*.apk
do
name="$(basename "$file" .apk)"
mkdir -p "$name"
mv "$file" "./$name"
done
Ah, /system/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/wallpaperpicker/wallpapers conatins Thumbs.db. You do use Windows. Nevermind the script then.
Also, you've removed /system/app/experienceflow2livewallpaper-release - this is why the background is black (until changed by the user).

Yah, but you do realize that if you have a directory called /system/app/theme then android will look for theme.apk inside that directory? If it isn't there then the android system will go on to the next directory. If you have a file called theme-with-a-different-name.apk inside /system/app/theme, then the android system will skip that file. It's a part of google having fun making a hassle for everyone...

For removing this you have to replace that 2 files from attachments. Place them in "/system/etc" and dont forget about right permissions (rw-r--r--) . Files from stock 0.570 for D5803
Please come up with an original name Marilia, it looks like you put all the words you know together and make a name, you put effort in this, the title makes it very childish imho.

PMA(Poor Man's Aroma)
Deprecated Guide
PMA
As most of you guys here know that our beloved OPX doesn't supports AROMA. So we lack a nice aspect of rom installers like customization on the go and a GUI with installer. When I first made this rom I wanted to provide users what they need and see in OOS. So I provided you guys with a basic installation zip which provided you with root,ARISE ,a faster better OOS .But some of you may not want/need these features (like root and ARISE ,also DPI ). So I decided to provide you with a rom with which can actually choose what to install and what to not ,but lack of AROMA support delayed it a bit.But NO worrries I now introduce you guys to PMA aka Poor Man's Aroma.
With PMA you can direct the installer to listen to your needs and customize the installation for you. With PMA you can choose beforehand what will be installed with MOOS and what will be skipped. This all can be done by editing a simple prop file in your sdcard.
modded.prop<---- you will be editing this file.First of all this file should be in root of sdcard(not in a folder ,directly in sdcard).
With this prop file you will be able to choose whether to install or not :
(a) SuperSU (root access)
(b)A.R.I.S.E.
(c)Kernel(stock or other from built-in)
(d) DPI for MOOS
and other things I would add in future releases.
So where to get this modded.prop??
you can download this from either this folder OR MOOS will create one for you with default values when you install the latest build.
So in a nutshell ,PMA is a method by which you can customize MOOS installation and tailor as per your needs by editing a simple prop file before flashing the zip.
PS:Yeah I know first para is a bit too much:silly:

[MOD] BlackenedMod v3.0 (Pixel / Pixel XL)

Introduction:
This modification / custom kernel configuration for Pixel and Pixel XL is optimized and made with the focus on bringing several, carefully tuned behind-the-scenes enhancements & adjustments that improves overall critically needed performance, system responsivness and battery life to the highest possible level. The seed to this project can by the way be found here, for anyone that is interested of its origins.
Note: This script is not recommended to be modified or customized by the user.
The latest release can be found here.
Disclaimer:
This is presented as "what if". If this modification screws up or breaks anything for you, I am not the one to be held responsible. It's a free will to try out this kind of changes/modifications/addons/tweaks, just don't blame the inventors for eventual bad results and/or screw-ups.
Features:
Reduced battery consumption
Device specific enhancements for best possible balance between battery life & performance
Enabled, and fully configured, Boeffla generic kernel wakelock blocker
[
Disabled a lot of useless stuff at kernel level (Improves battery life as well as performance)
CPUSet improvements & optimizations
Schedtune tweaks (Improves responsivness)
Power efficiency enhancements
Wide IO block tuning (Reduces the possibility of hiccups, lags and overhead)
Possibly other miscellaneous things I've forgotten to write down here, both big and small.
Requirements/what you need for getting this script fully working:
An unlocked bootloader
Your own specific choice of kernel
Latest Magisk
Busybox for Android NDK Magisk Module by @osm0sis
Patience
Installation/How-To use & abuse:
1) Download the attached ZIP
2) Extract the script
3) Move the script to the following location;
/data/adb/service.d and give the script the following permissions (0755)
4) Reboot your phone, let Android boot to the launcher and let Magisk boot service do its crucial magic (takes a few seconds before the scripts is fully up and running around behind the scenes)
5) Enjoy!
Note: If you still are unsure how to do for making my kernel configuration / modification work & be up and running behind the scenes, then please read @Phalanx7621 phenomenal guide here or check out @Phalanx7621 in-depth video here. The installation method is the same for both the first generation as well as the second generation of Pixels!
Credits:
@nathanchance for his contributions with his Flash Kernel

@Lord Boeffla for his awesome generic kernel wakelock blocker
@pkgnex for inspiring me walking into this partially unknown territory from the beginning
@flar2 for his excellent EXKM application and ElementalX Kernel
@osm0sis for his Magisk Busybox module
Everyone that I've forgotten to mention here
Telegram:
If you want to try out betas / previews of my script before they are officially released, or just hangout and chat a little, then join the official Telegram group here

Update!
v1.1 (Minor release)
- Made a few more (hopefully) battery conserving adjustments to the Sched governor.
Enjoy!
There is no .core folder inside /sbin, do we have to create it ? Edit: reboot solved. Couldn't see it.
Got it installed and I'm thinking it's working. Does the script turn off Core Control ? Just noticed it's off in Ex Kernel Manager , is this by design ?

I mean I'm only concerned with battery life. If you get better battery life with it off, I'm down with that for sure.

I will compare how my Marlin / Pixel XL performs with it disabled respectively enabled and see which "solution" that is giving best battery life with less performance tradeoffs, and then I will include the best overall compromise in v1.2 of my kernel configuration / script.
For anyone else interested in this, this is how I went about it:
1) Downloaded Flash Kernel from his thread over here https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/development/marlin-flash-kernel-1-00-t3788300
2) Downloaded the latest version of this mod
3) Downloaded the Magisk module required, which you can find by searching Magisk for "busybox" and choosing the "Busybox for android NDK" version
4) Flash that Magisk module, reboot into recovery, flash the Flash kernel (no need to reflash magisk, it's automatic), reboot back into system.
5) Check to make sure Magisk is functioning properly, for me I had to reboot due to an error in the application but that may have been on my end.
6) So now you have Flash kernel and the Magisk module required to be able to properly run this script. Extract the script from the .zip file you downloaded to a folder.
7) Ok so these next steps if you aren't familiar with this stuff could be tricky, but it's actually simple it just sounds tricky. I use Mixplorer for this, I highly suggest using it, it's free and it's on XDA Labs here. https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/com.mixplorer But any file explorer w/ root access will do. Inside the folder you extracted the script into there are two versions, choose the Public Release version and copy that file. Navigate to root ( / ) and go to /data/media/0 and paste the file there. The reason for this is you have to change the permissions to allow it to be an executable script and this folder allows that. (there are other ways to do this, FYI but this works just fine for me) You want the permissions to be 755, so it would look like this: (see attachment) To change permissions in Mixplorer, just long press the file and hit the little i (for information) in the upper right. Then click on the permissions you want to change.
8) Now all you have to do is copy that file you just changed the permissions to and paste it into: /sbin/.core/img/.core/service.d | | Now you won't be able to SEE .core unless you have hidden files on, in Magisk it's in the upper right hand corner 3 dot menu. Click Show Hidden. After you paste the file there, reboot and congratulations, you have achieved greatness.

Thanks a lot for the in-depth guide! I added your guide to the OP both in this thread and over at my Pixel 2 (XL) thread!

It's there.... I'm on the same rom. You need to start at root and not device storage, as well as show hidden folders
