Has any body purchased a skin from a company other than dbrand because they take 8 dollars just for the front of the phone and I'm not looking to give up my money that easy for a one time thing (not being a cheapskate lol just don't want to have an opportunity cost). Any advice peeps?

Yes i have because im in the same boat as you and think that Dbrand is a horrible company that rapes lots of my youtube video's with ads so thats why i hate them. But to get back on the subject, i orderd lots of skins on aliexpress going from 1,50 dollar to 3 bucks for a full skin wrap. I got a couple different color carbon skins like black, red, blue and purple. Also do i have a couple of metallic looking one's like gold, silver etc and also have a skin with a woodgrain look and a couple with glitters. So if i was you i would order a couple from aliexpress and have like 5-8 full skins vs 1 Dbrand.
Ill paste a couple of links so you can check them out your self bro.

I have the black carbon fiber Phantom Skin installed on my Evo 3D. Very happy with it, quality is top notch. Easy to install, screen protector is above average. The skin is a bit rough to the touch for a couple days but it does smooth out and I don't even notice it now. It also picks up a bunch of lint the first couple days but again this goes away. Let me know if there are any other questions.

Yeah a black carbon one.. Waiting for it to arrive.
I got my white one yesterday. These things are extremely hard to put on. I am terrible at it anyway. I should have known better. It looked terrible so I pulled it off. In the flat areas it actually looked really good, but the corners looked awful. I'm glad it came with 2 screen protectors and 2 camera glass protectors our I would be mad right now for wasting money on it. If you have a stay hand and some good patience then you should be alright. I am good st installing screen protectors, but when it comes to wrapping things around the corners I am terrible at it.

I live in Europe and I have never see white man wearing leopard skin on anything. i have a couple of friends who are black, and they don't see any insult in this... I am not good with reviews but I can take some pictures with the case installed once I get home to use the ipad what I can tell you now is that the wait was worth it this case is solid doesn't add too much bulk to the phone and is super light also looks very good

I have these skins for my Mix 3 and they're very nice. Currently have the black carbon fiber on. Thick, great texture, stick to the phone well and very grippy-- great for making the phone much less slippery while keeping the appearance top notch. They come with side protection too.
The negative is you have to buy a minimum of three at $25. That's not a bad price for 3 quality skins but they're so tough and with such good stickiness that I don't think I'll need more than one! Just purchased them for my Mi 9 too.

I have used this brand capesindia and it sucks... Got a white carbon fiber for my Oneplus 6T and the cut was all uneven on the edges. I could have lived with that but the edges just refused to stick on the mirror back. Had to throw it away..Avoid capesindia like a plague...Dbrand for me..always...
Just applied the camo skin at the back and matrix for my vent panel on my Asus ROG phone 2. The phone looks fab!!!
