What does / doesn't work
All hardware support issues will be the same as LOS / CM 14.1.
DOES
GPS, orientation and acceleration work. GPS Status gets a good fix indoors.
In-built camera app <snap> works fine.
OMS support integrated.
Magisk works, safetynet hding works, modules work.
You tell me.
DOESN'T
USBOTG - probably still not functioning.
MHL does not work.
Glonass - never going to work on old devices with CM-14.1.
Substratum theming seems to have stopped working with older devices.
n5120 - phone probably does not work without SElinux mode being changed to Permissive.
You tell me.

Hints, tips & FAQs
RR is a very feature laden rom. Don't go mad and switch everything on when you first boot. Concentrate on a feature and see how you like it. Blur for example can take a lot of tuning to look right.
If something does not run go into Settings > Privacy > Privacy Guard and check settings.
Also check the mode you have set for SElinux. Some functionality may be wrongly disabled in "Enforcing" which will work in "Permissive".
To enable built in root go to developer options and activate Root Access.
Use the smallest Open Gapps you can get away with (recommended Pico or Nano).
Most issues / caveats for CM14.1 / LOS will apply for this rom!
Long boot times on 2nd and subsequent boots? Go into Settings > Privacy > Privacy Guard > Advanced > Bootup and disable startup on apps that don't need started on every boot.
After flashing in TWRP you may see two messages saying "E:unknown command" - this can happen on all CM14.1 based roms and is nothing to worry about.
Substratum needs to be installed from Playstore, in case you wonder why it's not there. It's an option.
Adaway and Kernel Adiutor are no longer included in rom.
Doze is working well. It minimises battery usage when tablet is NOT being used.
Lockscreen current display is worth enabling.
Use GPS Status to properly test GPS and re-calibrate sensors if needed. Disable wifi and bluetooth scanning in rom settings for accurate results!
Q. Does xposed....
A. There are now versions of Xposed which run on Nougat. However Xposed WILL NOT BE SUPPORTED AT ALL. You will be on your own. Do not report bugs. Logs that show Xposed use will be ignored.
Q. The install button does not work when I want to install an app, usually a non market side-loaded app?
A. Stop / disable the application running that is using a screen overlay.
Q. Does OTA work?
A. Yes. It checks to see if a new version has been published and alerts you. Links are provided in the OTA app for direct downloads. The rom will still need to be flashed manually as normal.
Q. Why is this rom a Rootless build?
A. I am giving the user the option of selecting to install a root of their choice. This Rootless version will allow you to install the latest Magisk, SuperSU or any other viable solution. Running the rom without any root applied is also a viable option.
Q. What theme engine is integrated?
A. Full OMS7 support has been implemented, so Substratum can be installed from the play store if you wish to theme the rom.
Q. Can I use an alternate kernel?
A.You may be able to use other kernels. Use Flashify to flash them or extract the boot.img and flash as img from TWRP. Do not wipe kernel / dalvik if only flashing a kernel. @ZaneZam s excellent Boeffla kernel works really well.
Q. I would like louder / better quality sound.
A. I use and recommend the latest mod by A.R.I.S.E. - ARISE+Magnum+Opus+20170918+Stock+Edition.zip from here. I now recommend using the in-built Magisk compatibility mod. See advanced post #7 for more on Arise.
Q. Can I replace the weather provider?
A. Go to settings > apps > configure apps > weather. Add weather provider takes you to the playstore. Download Yahoo weather provider. Back to weather and enable Yahoo weather provider.
Q. Can I mirror the rom on a different provider?
A. I only want the rom served from AFH / Sourceforge so I can monitor downloads. NO mirroring is permitted.
If you want to send me a full set of logs for a bug, I recommend using Syslog.

Hi @pvsgh,
You do have an n5110 model (wifi only)?
couple of thoughts:
did you do a full wipe before attempting the install?
can you let me know your system partition size (have seen error 7 due to non-standard partition sizes)
go to wipe > advanced wipe > select system > repair or change file system > check size.

Yes, 5110 model, did a full wipe. I might have a modified partition structure, did that a long time back so have to check again for confirmation. Although, LOS14.1 installs fine.
EDIT: System partition size is 1511MB, so it should not be the space issue. I also compared the LOS14.1 update-script with update-scrpipt from your ROM and there is no difference except some ui_print commands.
This is the step where it is failing:
block_image_update("/dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name/SYSTEM", package_extract_file("system.transfer.list"), "system.new.dat", "system.patch.dat") ||
abort("E1001: Failed to update system image.");
EDIT2: Checked the recovery logs, and it does seem it is expecting some particular size for system partition, will try reverting back the partition sizes to stock and see if that works.
here is a some information from recovery log:
Patching system image unconditionally...

USBOTG I can probably live without, but I use MHL a lot when we travel to play movies on the hotel TV. Is this something that's a temporary upstream glitch? Something that you just need time for? Or is it something that is likely a permanent limitation of the ROM? I appreciate the work you're putting in to revive this relatively ancient device (Thank you!). I'm just trying to figure out if this is a ROM I can use as a daily driver in my personal use case.

No CM based note 8.0 ROM has had it to date, as far as I'm aware. It would depend on if RGIB had the time to implement in LOS / CM14.1 as it's one of the most involved systems to port and bring up to date.
If you must have MHL then it's touchwiz based rom for you ATM I'm afraid...
It IS however doable as the S4 RR nougat port i also maintain has working MHL ?

Thanks for the quick response and explanation. That makes me sad. I may still make the jump anyway and just bring an old phone along with me for movie watching. I'm so sick of being stuck on an ancient (likely exploit ridden) version of Kit-Kat because Samsung couldn't be bothered to update this otherwise capable device.

Yeah totally agree. Hardware is remarkable still able and Nougat gets better performance out of it than Sammy ever could with KK.
As a rom it's still evolving and the niggles will eventually get ironed out.
I myself would love MHL as we have 2 note8.0s at home, mine obviously is one I develop on and is bleeding edge.
My wife's is still on KK as it's primary use is as a media player through MHL and she won't let me update it until MHL works...

partition structure restored, still the same issue.
This particular line from system.transfer.list causing the installation to fail:
erase 30,66050,97792,131586,163328,197122,228864,262658,294400,295587,327168,328194,359936,360962,392704,393730,425472,426498,458240,459266,491008,492034,523776,524802,556544,557570,589312,590338,622080,623106,655360

OK...so I decided to give it a try. Installed the linked TWRP, made nandroid, updated the baseband (I think I did this correctly) with Odin, and installed ROM with nano GAPPS. Wifi isn't working now. I can see networks, I can enter the password, but it doesn't connect. It just says "connecting" for a moment, then stops trying and just says "saved" under the network name. Kind of a problem for me for a wifi only tablet. I like the look and speed of the ROM, though, so I would like to at least try it for a bit. What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts?

Yes, a slight problem.
Probably it's the region code needs set, or the router channel changed. Channels 12 and 13 are out of band (and illegal) in some areas of the world. Check the channels your router broadcasts on and the region code in WiFi settings. If you need to access all 13 channels set region to Europe.

I'm not familiar with system transfer lists, but I'm sure i know what the problem is, it's just how we go about curing it for you.
I found on making Roms for another system a lot of slack system space, so increased the system partition to full volume size. I have also applied this to note 8 on this ROM, so instead of a system partition of 1.5gb we now have the full size of the volume, 2.5gb.
We need to check you have space to create a 2.5gb partition on the system volume - need to check the exact size when i get home.
In the meantime, you may find format / repair / resize partition in TWRP is enough to cure this...

I'm in the US and my router broadcasts on channel 11. I set the tablet to US region as one of the first steps when it was not working. ? I really want this to work. So much less lag than TouchWiz. Could I have messed up the baseband flash? What are the correct steps to do it?

So...I went ahead and set up a 2.4 gHz only guest network and I'm now able to connect to that network only. Is there an issue with 5 gHz networking?

Yes, I had 2.5 gb system partition, after I repartitioned it, this is what my partition size looked like (identical to stock)
8 92.3MB 1703MB 1611MB ext4 CACHE
9 1703MB 4387MB 2684MB ext4 SYSTEM
10 4387MB 4974MB 587MB ext4 HIDDEN
11 4974MB 4983MB 8389kB OTA
12 4983MB 15.8GB 10.8GB ext4 USERDATA
and before restoring it to stock, i had around 1.5gb for system:
8 92.3MB 193MB 101MB ext4 CACHE
9 193MB 1805MB 1612MB ext4 SYSTEM
10 1805MB 1820MB 15.0MB ext4 HIDDEN
11 1820MB 1828MB 8000kB OTA
12 1828MB 15.8GB 13.9GB ext4 USERDATA
I just feel like 2.5gb for system partition is a waste of space.
Also, I tried to extract this rom and convert it to old style format (system directory) but it failed to install due to some missing symlinks. Have to spend some more time fixing those

Recoveries: Automated installer of different recoveries
Added to auto installer choice of different recoveries to flash: CWM, TWRP, Stock recovery from C170B009 huaweu firmware - HERE IS THE ONLY ONE EXISTING VERSION of CWM THAT WILL NO CORRUPT YOUR /DATA PARTITION;
Moved to init binary builted from AOKP sources;
Added recognition of internal and external sd, now we can store backups and flash zips from both stores;
Working adb (now we can use: adb sideload <filename> to flash zip directly from pc);
Internal sd (data/media) will not be wiped during Factory reset from recovery as well as will not be backuped on default from Backup menu (in twrp at least).
CWM/TWRP recoveries are FULLY WORKING, AND WILL NOT DESTROY /data partition or any other;
Now you dont need to wipe System, Cache and Dalvik-cache manually from wipe menu, now these operations will be performed automatically with flashing zip;
So to flash new Cyanogenmod 10/ AOKP - 26.11.2012 you need just to download zip, place it at internal or external sd, reboot to recovery, then make factory reset (ONLY if you goes from STOCK rom or possible from CM10/PA) and then flash zip with rom from corresponding menu (name of menu depends on recovery).
Then download AOKP for Huawei Mediapad, Gapps and place them on your sdcard (not internal memory).
Boot in TWRP Recovery, then choose Backup and check cust partition, then Swipe to back up (you will get full backup of stock rom).
Pls notice, that this recovery can make backup only of /cust partition, not /hwcust like in international roms.
Press back to go to main menu and choose Wipe there, then press Factory reset, then System (thats important, 'cause update zip cant format ext4 system partition).
Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip rom, choose it and Swipe to Confirm Flash.
Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip with Gapps, choose it and Swipe to Confirm Flash.
Then reboot in system and enjoy AOKP rom on your Mediapad
plz report issue! thx..

A
Alarm
• How can I disable alarm icon?
You can enable/disable alarm icon in statusbar in Clock > Settings.
You can enable/disable next alarm information on cLock widget in RootBox Settings > cLock > Clock and alarm.
B
Battery
• How can I save my battery? (Without flashing anything or undervolt kernel)
You can check all apps/functions which sync in background like GPS, Wlan or Social accounts (If not needed = disable)
Set the Brightness down (Settings > Display > Brightness)
Use dark (best black) theme & wallpaper & lockscreenwallpaper
C
cLock & Clock
• How can I place cLock on lockscreen?
Look into Lockscreen section below.
• Where do I configure cLock?
RootBox Settings > cLock. There you can configure Clock + Weather + Calendar settings. Note that all these settings apply to both homescreen and lockscreen cLock widget.
• How can I change color of cLock / Clock widget?
As first, it is important to note, that there are two different widgets with the same digital clock layout:
Digital clock is classic digital clock widget in a new design. It is configured by Settings of the Clock app. There you can beside other settings change color of clock / date / alarm and it will apply to the widget.
cLock is brand new CM widget combining digital clock in a new design, weather forecast and calendar events. It is configured in RootBox Settings > cLock where you change font colors.
• The localization and weather isn't working
Uninstall cClock and install in again from here.
D
DPI
• How can I customize DPI?
For now there is no overall system DPI change possibility, so that u have to use the 'Settings > Hybrid settings'.
Here you should choose the stock PA-settings and then swipe to the right - this should open the PA-menu on the left.
Now choose ‘Interface’ and set at all dpi-regulators on your DPI you want to have.
Most apps also get this configuration, but some like Phone, Calculator or Chrome, have to been set manually.
That for change from ‘Interface’ to ‘Apps’ and choose the same DPI for all bright apps you can see at the top.
If you did this, you should have overall the same DPI.
If u want to have different DPI’s per app, just run free in the ‘Apps’-section.
• My device isn’t supported in playstore after changing DPI
You have to use the MultiDPI-Playstore here from URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4534385"] “MyLifeRocks10”[/URL]
=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
Data
• I can't find the Data toggle!?
It's renamed to "signal".
E
Expanded Desktop
• Can I use Expanded desktop on this ROM?
Yes. Enable it in RootBox Settings and switch it on or off in Power menu.
F
FC (any app)
• After update or some system changes (e.g. DPI change), my app XY is ending with FC (Forced Close) repeatidly.
Anytime you have some app ending with FC, try:
Settings > Apps > ALL > XY and click Clear data and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > advanced > fix permissions > reboot and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > wipe cache and advanced > wipe dalvik cache + after reboot repeat step 1 and try the app again.
Try FULL WIPE installation of the ROM.
Flashing
• How to flash this ROM?
It depends on your starting position. Here are possible options:
Option 1: Updating RootBox with stable/nightly version without major changes - Without Full Wipe
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition (optional)
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache (optional)
Reboot and you are done!
Option 2: Incremental Update => That for have a look at “I”
Option 3: Coming from another ROM or updating RootBox version with major changes or having strange problems - With Full Wipe
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)

-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
Reboot and you are done!
Option 4: Coming From Stock ROM (Samsung firmware, no root)
=> Root and Backup
Download Odin (http://androidfirmwares.net/Tools)
Download root kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399)
-- just scroll down and search for your version (settings>about phone>basis version)
Flash it via Odin
-- extract .zip
-- load the root kernel in Odin (as PDA)
-- put SGSII in download mode (Vol-, Home and Powerbutton)
-- press "Start"
Phone should reboot by itself
Turn it off, then start phone in recovery mode (Vol+, Home and Powerbutton)
Go to:
-- backup and restore
-- backup to internal sd card (for sure you can choose external if have and want it there)
-- confirm it and then let do the phone the backup (can take a while [5-20 min])
=> Now start the process for flash Rom.
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)
-- wipe data/ factory reset
-- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache

Flash Dorimanx or Syiah kernel
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select Kernel.zip and flash it
Go into advanced menu and Reboot recovery
DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)
-- wipe data/ factory reset
-- wipe cache partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
-- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
Reboot and you are done!
G
GAPPS
• Do I have to flash GAPPS with ROM?
Generally musst have the Gapps package!
But u only have to flash it once, because since v4.0 (also some nightlies before), the backup function got enabled.
This will save the Gapps, so that a “dirty update*” with new Rom.zip is enough.
*If u don’t know what this means, check ‘Option 1’ under the point F->Flashing (without step 4 here)
• What version of GAPPS should I download?
It's always recommended to use the newest Gapps
Latest Gapps you also can find here:
♦Dev-Host♦
♦AndroidFileHost♦
But you also can have a look on the unofficial Gapps from BaNkS!, which gives you different versions.

H
HALO
How to configure HALO?
There are three places where you configure HALO behavior:
1. Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings where you configure basic HALO Notifications behavior
2. Settings > Apps > [Any App options] where you enable / disable concrete app Blacklist / Whitelist entry
3. Paranoid Android HALO))) App from Play Store where you configure apps for persistent notifications in so called floating mode.
What are options in Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings?
- HALO policy allows you to choose between Blacklist (default) or Whitelist policy. In Blacklist mode are notifications from all app ON by default and you can explicitly configure some of them not to show HALO notifications by entering them to Blacklist. In Whitelist mode are notifications from all app OFF by default and you can explicitly configure some of them to show HALO notifications by entering them to Whitelist.
- Hide HALO after activity (disabled by default) allows you (if enabled) to hide HALO circle shortly after notification appears.
- Reverse HALO gestures changes behavior of dragging / tapping on HALO circle. Better to play with it or watch some youtube videos than describe this... Basics are: If enabled (default), then dragging is for tasking and double-tap swipe allows you to position circle or delete / deactivate it. If disabled, functions are reversed.
How to Blacklist / Whitelist apps?
Go to Settings > Apps > [Any App options] and there right under "Show notifications" checkbox you find either "Blacklist HALO notifications" or "Whitelist HALO notifications" according to policy set in HALO policy options.
What can I do using Paranoid Android HALO))) App?
Add some apps like Email, Gmail, Messaging, etc. using "+" button, press ">" button and you will see... You will have persistent notification in floating mode for those chosen apps. Try to drag HALO circle and you will get it.
How can I disable / deactivate HALO? (I don't want to see the circle on my screen)
Depending on your "Reverse HALO gestures" option:
- If enabled (default), then try quickly double-tap & swipe the circle. By this you will be able to position the circle or deactivate it by moving it to "trash".
- If disabled, then you can directly drag the circle. By this you will be able to position the circle or deactivate it by moving it to "trash".
How can I enable it again?
When HALO is deactivated, you can see special button in upper line of Notification drawer, that will activate it.
How can I uninstall HALO completely?
You can't. It is integral part of the ROM. You can only choose not to use it.
What if I cannot install .apk?
Wait for the next Nightly/Stable build. This will be solved. If you can't wait, then disable HALO, install what you need and enable it again.
Where can I find further information?
Take a look at this video by Oode.
I
Incremental download/update
• What is the incremental download
This download allows all devices on the the direct lower version (for example the nightly 20130301) to update only the new and necessary files from newest nightly (for example the 20130302). This means a smaller file, a faster download and a faster flash!
This is anyway an experimental feature, which isn't available for all updates and can still bring some bugs with it!
• How I do the incremental update
That for you have to look at the 'settings > update manager', search the newest nightly and check the point directly below the “normal” download. (it is only shown if u are on the directly below version!)
Download and flash it. (File is smaller than from "normal" download)
L
Lockscreen
• How do I get shortcuts/targets on my lockscreen?
RootBox Settings > Lockscreen Shortcuts or RootBox Settings > Lockscreen Shortcuts/Targets.
• How do I put cLock on my lockscreen instead of standard clock?
You have to drag clock on lockscreen. It will allow you to remove it. Then you can add cLock or any other widget instead. Note that cLock has only one setting that applies to homescreen and lockscreen.
• How do I make cLock show my Weather and Calendar on lockscreen?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Minimize Lockscreen Challenge.
• How do I unlock faster when Minimize Lockscreen Challenge is enabled?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Enable longpress to unlock.
N
NavBar
• How do I change NavBar Color?
Rom Control > Navigation Bar > Navigation Bar color.
• How do I enable NavBar transparency?
Rom Control > General UI > Transparency settings. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
Nightlies
• What is Nightly? Should I flash Nightly or latest Stable version?
There is no major difference. Nightlies are builds which are built almost “every day” for everyone to try the latest sources/features merged to RootBox.
For all users who don’t want to flash “every day” and want have less bugs as possible, please just use the stable releases.
P
Pie
• How do I enable Pie?
You activate it via “settings>RootBox settings>Pie controls”
• How do I change the Color of Pie?
Settings > Hybrid settings > Interface.
• How make I Pie open faster
Just set ‘quick’ in “settings>RootBox>Pie controls>Pie style”
S
Statusbar
• How do I enable Statusbar transparency?
Rom Control > General UI > Transparency settings. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
• How do I change the Statusbar behaviour?
Rom Control > General UI > Statusbar behaviour.
Here u have different options if/how the statusbar is/becomes visible for you.
• What means the fast toggle for the Statusbar Toggles?
This will allow you to swipe from the right or left side of your statusbar (depending on what you choose) and it will go to your quick settings bypassing any notifications.
• Everytime after reboot I got a “Low Storage” Message!?
It’s a problem which appears when the app ‘Viber’ is installed. Just move ‘Viber’ to sd card.
That for go to “settings>apps>Viber”
U
USB
• I’m not able to connect my device as Mass-Storage to PC
Try deleting data from media storage. That for go to “settings>apps>all>media storage”

Only stock kernel AFAIK. Or if there is any other, that is compatible with latest CM10.1 builds, i.e. with MALI v2 drivers for i9300. I do not know such.
EDIT: Temasek kernel was reported by feed3 and TKokab as compatible with this ROM

I am on the 02.03 nightly update.
As mentioned by someone else on Rootbox's G+ page, there is a tiny winy issue with front camera.
When I take a photo with the front camera the first time, everything is ok. But when I try to take a second photo right after that, the camera screen is stuck with the previous image but it still takes the new photo however.
Just wanted to put it out there and see if anyone else have the same problem.
Cheerio.
Just one Q , from 03.02 nightly we don't have an option to set lockscreen wallpapper in portrait mode. Problem is when we want to set wall with different size. Lockscreen is not scrollable.... Thx in advance
Ps
Big THX for second chance with the main topic :highfive:

No problems here on latest nightly, newest Gapps (BaNkS!), but anyway on i9100.
So please try to wipe gallery data once (settings>apps>all>gallery).
If this won't help, just try an update.
If u have anyway problems we hopefully get more feedback then to confirm this issue and so it's a device specific one.
PS: U don't uses another Kernel or? If yes please re flash rom + Gapps to have stock and see if it's happening there, too.

On latest nightlies, using incremental update, old bug coming again, no sound when making or received calls, have to enable lockscreen sound and reboot. Anyone can confirm? Thanks in advance.

Hey buddy, thanks for the reply. Just flashed to latest nightly 06.03.
I am not using any other kernel, just stock kernel. I tried doing the same thing with the front camera on the latest nightly (also cleared the gallery data from apps) but still same as before.
It's not a biggie for me because I hardly use the front camera. But it will be nice to have it fixed when possible.

Yes here to
haven't been able to pin point it exactly, getting this no sound in out and ingoing calls when > changing dpi in settings (only 320 works) without losing sound..but then again no sound when i change themes, even thow they are cm10.1 compatible?
only switching back to system theme, booting to cwm and fix permissions solves it again!
always have no lockscren on my phone, haven't tried to enable it ever, but will try what you write and enable sound and see if it does any difference?
btw:this is a very very anoying problem, that actually makes this wonderful rom unusable for me :crying:
hope for a fix sometime
but thx a million for this marvelous rom bajee11 - love it - and this thread is so great
Edit: no lockscren on or off dont make any difference here.. but found one theme that works, and dont kill sound, its cyanorangen cobolt, its newly updated and works perfect
--------------------------------------------------
Edit again: forget it, problem persiits randomly, no way on telling what causes it, seems like it is something about the resizing dpi related? but im no dev just my to cents!
+phone is getting very hot on this nightly 0306

Sound issue

Not a theme issue (at least not for me) and it has been the same with previous version (IF my memory doesn't cheat me).
I'm using mianogen theme when it happen, some other themes afterward and now (MNML statusbar by kgill7, poplife, LunarUI), ONLY when enabling the sceenlock sound (settings -> Sound -> Screen Lock Sound) solve the issue for me (same workaround all this while) though i think it is gone in 3.8..
MTP Support
I don't actually know if this is a ROM related issue, but I guess it is better that I leave it registered here the one thing that annoys me mostly for now with RootBox.
There are minor issues that don't bother me at all, but this one does. I just can't get my phone's files via USB on Ubuntu. It works fine on Windows but not on Ubuntu. The strange thing is it worked well with my previous ROM, but I decided to remain with RootBox and get this fixed somehow.
Before RB, I was using the Omega ROM AOKP, MTP also didn't worked on Linux, but I after I changed to kernel Siyah I had no such problems anymore. When I changed to RB, the problem was back. Tried to flash Siyah 1.7.1 and got stuck on boot animation; flashed Siyah 1.8.9 and phone booted ok. But no MTP working on Ubuntu.
I don't know if this is a ROM related issue, or a CM kernel problem... Or maybe my Ubuntu is just broken (I need to try on another distro yet). This is my most imediate need for RootBox, I'd really like some help on how can I fix this. Already tried cleaning the Media Storage app data, but got nothing.
My current set up is: RootBox NIghtly 20130306, stock Kernel 3.0.31-CM-gcea4b18. Ubuntu 12.04 on PC.
And thanks for the support thread.

KNOWN ISSUES and COMMON QUESTIONS
1. Don't dirty flash over if you update from other genius works. Make a full wipe before you flash.
if you are updating from an old version of this rom, dirty flash should be fine.
2. Flashing kernels : Only support anykernel format (no ramdisk).
3. On restoring App with Titanium Backup: for those who switching roms all the time, it is recommend to wipe dalvik cache again with recovery.
dalvik cache generated by different rom build from different toolchains may not be compatible. You better do it prior to ART conversion.
4. If you flash SuperSu over this rom, pls checked "Enable su during boot" option in menu, otherwise, root privileges won't work
5. For dev reason I have switch on adb logging in developer options by default. Turn it off if you don't need it and somehow it save battery and get better performance.
6. MultiWindow is not capable with HALO existence, When Halo is enabled. ,multiWindow option won't pop up.

Thank you for a new rom. Downloading now, will report back soon.
Just flashed. Very smooth and feature rich. Runs very nicely with agni kernel. Thanks for the hard work. Awesome work.

Agreed. Running on f2fs filesystem, agni kernel and art. Extremely snappy with all the best features of the best ROMs. Great job!

Have run this over night, and thus far have not had any issues. Very battery friendly, with some nice "hidden" features like suspend actions, wakelock blocker and system app removal tucked away in the Performance tab. Features wise, all the ones I use on a daily basis, like Halo, Pie, ect, work as they should. All the apps, I normally use, work great too. Themes work. Have only had one FC with hangouts pinned to Halo, but that always happens no matter what Rom I run. So far, I am very much liking this Rom. Cheers for the work bro!
Nice work. Smooth and one of the best featured roms out there.
T-Mobile GN2 on XDA-Premium
Just shows how subjective benchmarks can be. Did an Antutu benchmark and scored a mediocre 21000 something. But, this ROM is absolutely flying in normal usage and games; runs much smoother and responsive than when I scored 24000+.
I have not been as excited about an AOSP / CM based ROM before; amazing job.
Tons of neat features. I can't seem to find mokee features, the lunar calender? Able to run art in this build too. I'm getting Dsp manager fc when I run Viper. Otherwise it's a sweet rom.

Hi I keep having some audio problems, like it cant play music in the back ground when i open any app and also if i play something (e.g. a video on mxplayer with my earphones plugged in, there's no sound unless i play it on the phone speaker and then connect my earphones. I didnt flash any other kernel though.
Hello, just flashed and I have to say I love it. It has everything I want and need.
One thing.... Exposed doesn't work

I hate to ask this, but how do I activate the multi window function? Or, it's just the floating window that comes when I use halo.

Hi. What about the quality of communication, data transfer rate? Extraneous noises and sounds during a conversation that are not on the original rom?

Yes,as mentioned TWRP is included in the ROM. Perhaps I left that in the steps mistakenly. I'm honestly not sure what is causing your issue. Perhaps start over if you can by flashing OOS 10 to both slots and then following the steps in the main post. Good luck!

I used the unbrick tool to get back to stock 10.0.5. I will repeat the steps and check again
Just to clarify again - do i need to flash stock rom to slot A, reboot to slot B and flash again?
Sorry if its a bit off topic now..
Thank you!

So you should have OOS on both slots.

DO NOT FLASH GAPPS, ALREADY INCLUDED
First Time Install / Clean FlashPrerequisites:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. OOS 11.0.2.1 stable as the base ROM
Steps to install:
1. Copy the ROM zip and boot.img in the platform tools folder and open the command prompt or terminal.
2. fastboot flash boot <recovery_filename>.img
here it will be: fastboot flash boot boot.img
3. After flashing the boot image, press the volume down button on the phone twice and you will see "recovery mode" at the top of the screen. Now press power button.
4. When in recovery mode, if you see "no command" screen, Press and hold power button for 3 seconds and press volume up once and release all buttons.
5. In the recovery, select "wipe data/factory reset". select "factory data reset" and press the power button.
6. After that, from the menu, select "apply update from ADB".
7. In the terminal/command prompt, use this command to install the ROM: adb sideload <rom_zip_filename>.zip
8. After finishing the flashing process, reboot to system
NOTE:
The Rom can also be installed by dumping the payload.bin (after extracting from the zip) and flashing the 6 images in fastboot. This is how I install. I'm not gonna go over the details. Maybe when I've more time. Plenty of guides to show how to do this
ROOT:
Patch the provided boot.img in magisk and flash via fastboot
Update / Dirty FlashTo update the device by adb sideload:
1. Copy the latest ROM zip in the platform tools folder and open the command prompt or terminal.
2. Boot the device into recovery.
3. When in recovery mode, if you see "no command" screen, Press and hold power button for 3 seconds and press volume up once and release all buttons.
4. After that, from the menu, select "apply update from ADB".
5. In the terminal/command prompt, use this command to install the ROM: adb sideload <rom_zip_filename>.zip
6. After finishing the flashing process, reboot to system
NOTE:
Updates can also be performed by fastbooting the 6 images after dumping the payload

Hi. Thank you for the ROM release! But after flashing Magisk 20.4, a window appears that says "Crashdump". If you flash Magisk 21.1, it simply reboots into the bootloader. Which version should I use for this?
I saw it in the description, it's solved
Hey Rick thanks and congratulations on getting 11/R up and running on our device.
As always, amazing work.
Running smoothly.
I extracted the boot.img from the rom and patched it with Magisk. This works perfectly and you can just use and update regular Magisk. But you can not install a custom recovery.
I found a bug that I can replicate 100%.
When I want to use the volume key cursor control, the settings app crashes when I choose volume up/down moves the cursor right/left. Buy left/right works.

Yep, I can also. Copied the crash log and I'll pass it on so it can hopefully get fixed. Thanks for reporting.

Hi, I would like to report small issues I encountered after installing the rom (clean flash):
- The rom comes with no notification and alarm sound, and browsing through the sound app to choose one make the phone freeze sometimes (the sound app stops working)
- The custom ambient display brightness option is missing, or at least I wasn't able to find it, do you plan to re-add it in the future?
- ''Lift to check phone'' is not working for me, it didn't work in Evo 4.X too... I don't use it anyway, just reporting
- Ok this is strange: when I turn off bluetooth, my smartwatch (fossil gen 5) is reported as disconnected in the WearOS app and in the phone settings, the smartwatch itself says it is disconnected, but it still continues to receive notifications, calls, alarms, Tasker commands... Maybe it is a feature from A11? Never happened to me with Evo 4.X... Other devices, such as bluetooth headphones, disconnect as expected when the bluetooth is off

I can confirm no default alarm sound is set. For me the default notification sound is set (popcorn), but I did restore from the cloud, so I'm not sure if this got restore then.
I have no problems with the sound app.
More options are still missing, they will possibly/likely (up to the dev team) be added in future updates. It's the first official release and bugs and stability probably have had priority over features.
I tried the raise to wake function (I don't use it normally).
The setting in the evolver doesn't seem to be doing anything.
But in the OnePlus settings (under doze) you can turn it on and it works (this is independent on where is turned on our off in the evolver settings)
I have no bluetooth devices to test. And since it seems to be devices specific logs will likely be needed.

I too have noticed the no notification and alarm sound. Should be solved with time. Obviously easy enough to resolve after install.
As mentioned some features are just not available yet and more will come in the future.
No idea about your smartwatch issue though. If I hear anything regarding this type of issue I'll report back.

Super smooth rom, Thanks Dev.
Super smooth indeed However, Battery is quite less good in my experience. What's yours ?

My battery life seems comparable to A10,but it isn't something I pay super close attention to either.
Also,I just updated the main posts list of known issues as I discovered the reason for a few things. Take note:
- Settings>Sound> Now Playing>Show songs on lock screen - Don't enable this. It is currently broken and causes the alert slider to lag and lock up as well as audio being killed with certain apps (Spotify etc) when unlocking the device

It could be because you recently flashed the rom...I'd suggest you wait for a few days and see...I get around 6 to 6.5 hrs of sot in the testing build, which is one of the best I've got
Totally unexpected but battery life is really good for me, far better than Evo 4.X!!
Found a small bug: double tap on the status bar to sleep is working regardless of the option being disabled or enabled

- The ability to manually add APN's is broken source side and is being looked into,so if your apn isn't detected automatically (most should be) Then this is probably not the ROM for you at this point.

as mentioned on Evolution X - Channel (Official) on Telegram, if we set APN TYPE to default or default, supl, the ability to manually add APN actually works !

Hey, how's the Wi-Fi performance and signal strength?
I went back from few different custom roms to stock because of wifi coverage.
Cheers

Afaik none of the custom roms will have wifi coverage like stock... OnePlus uses some proprietary stuff which gives it the performance, which custom roms don't have...

Hi, what does this currently mean for evolution X ? Do we have aptX or not ?
The amazon app is working for you? Since I switched to this rom it can't connect to the internet, always gives error. Other apps works just fine...
