Can you elaborate on how you did it? Hundreds of people on the Xiaomi forum are complaining, developers doing nothing, it's getting pretty ridiculous.

Few reported that the 10008 error can be solved by using any VPN and select Shanghai server.

Anyone knows that how to disable/delete app of HiVoice? but I don't use it..
Im using Honor 5C and i just disable HiVoice with debloater. Download debloater here install and just disable HiVoice. Name of HiVoice is: HwVAssistant.apk and name of package is com.huawei.vassistant. No need for root or anything.... Just set USB debugging on phone, before use with debloater.
I don`'t know how this App came to my phone, but it started with the Android 6 upgrade on my Honor 6 Plus.
Anyway, I haven't found out how to disable nor trigger this App. But one's for sure: I denies Access t everything for it.

Yup,
To disable this app, you can install : a debloater like said above you, or root the phone to install "system app remover" from playstore (once rooted ) ( You can DL it here )
And i tried to use the dictation with google when i removed it, doesn't work, maybe it's linked ( if i remember well ^^ )
Can someone share an English apk. I have chinese but need it in English. I find it useful.

To trigger it you have to enable ot from settings first. Go here:
Settings > Smart Assistance > Voice control.
You can manage it from here and add commands.

Thanks, but I am not rooted. Enough of rooting previous phones, don't want to mess up anything with my new phone. Btw, I have Honor v8. There aren't any forums here for this super phone. Any other approach?

No, its big brother: http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_honor_v8-8061.php . Unfortunately it's a china rom with English. But its a nice rom and dont wanna root. All I want is HiVoice in English

Off-topic: Where would I find full chinese rom for Honor V8 to download (assuming i can change default language to English)? Tried club.huawei.com, but it asks for a login.

Try restoring the stock firmwares(all files, not just the rom) from fastboot.

I think your phone is exclusive only to russian carriers. U need to unlock it first.

Changing firmware will surely remove carrier lock. That required unlocked bootloader

a lot actually, i heard two of them lost their imei on their honor 5x kiw l22 by accidentally flashing the firmware of kiwl24

Thats incomplete . They lost imei for flashing incorrect package and it is not a full flash . To convert to US variant u have rebrand first

The only suggestion is to open a cause on cause.org and ask for firmwares and kernel source code and bootloader unlock and make sure everyone sign it
