This screen has a very nice black point. It's not as extreme as Samsung's AMOLED screen but it is still a nice screen. I largely prefer the LCD to AMOLED simply because of lack of permanent burn-in which means the contrast will remain fairly consistent throughout the life of the phone.

I've had issues with AMOLED whites looking creamy whereas my LGs always put out a nice color spectrum.

Washed out honestly, but the whites are really good.

I don't care too much about overhyped amoled "true black" but I love the true white and much more natural looks of an ips panel. The display contrast, brightness and overall visibility of the Mate 9 is just perfect.
The Mate 9 preferably has an nice IPS LCD display.
The Mate 9 Pro an Mate 9 Porsche have amoled, as I have read.

My display is blue black, is this normal? It has a very blue tint in pitch black.
Doesn't really show true blacks compared to OLED phones. The blacks on the PH-1 screen are more of a darkish gray.

Contrast Performance
I'm wondering why the contrast (true blacks) rating is so low.
I read that the X2 Pro has an amoled with a good contrast ratio. I know that amoled contrast ratios can be misleading since turning a pixel off would result in 0 nit luminance and therefore a (theoretical) infinite contrast ratio.
Can someone tell me what the performance is like and whether it would be a dealbreaker to consider this a 'good display'?
