"keep trying, if you don't succeed at least you know how to not fail again from that path"

You can't flash a custom recovery / ROM from download mode.
Follow the below guide, boot into the ROM, root it, flash TWRP and then flash the custom ROM.

Sony Z2 Help

Im new into rooting so i succesfully unlocked my bootloader and installed the twrp recovery via flash now i have the problem that my phone always boots into the recovery mode no matter what, i have a sonyz2 D6503 andriod 6.0.1 i follow a tutorial on youtube . now i have read a few threads that it is wrong to install twrp with fastboot flash boot C/:whaterver.img i should have done it with fastboot flash recovery C/:whatever.img . Im kinda stuck now and i have no idea what to do moreover im kinda scared to do something, because it can cause more damage that i already have.
im kinda sorry for my horrible english i hope you can understanf this trouble
If you want to proceed back to stock ROM, flash stock FTF using flashtool (download link and instructions can be found inside my signature), with KERNEL and SYSTEM checked, other leave other options intact.
If you want to flash another non-stock ROM, flash an advanced kernel via fastboot toolbox inside the flashtool I mentioned above, then you can flash the ROM using the TWRP inscribed with the advanced kernel.
If you want to proceed to stock ROM but rooted and with other MODs installed, there are two ways to do so:
Easier method:
Flash an advanced kernel then use the pre-installed TWRP to flash the SuperSU.zip or whatever MOD zips.
Complex method:
Restore stock kernel using flashtool mentioned above, then flash the TWRP (recovery) image (you can get one HERE) using a cmd on PC or Laptop with ADB and flastboot drivers installed, typein:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <recovery>.IMG
then you can boot into the TWRP to flash whatever MODs you want.

Clockwork Mod or TWRP which one EASY ?

I dont want MIUI and useless extra app so i have to install custom rom.
First step is unlock bootlader with mi unlock app okay. But my question is how can i install custom rom ?
TWRP or Clockwork Mod ???
Using TWRP i have to install it first after that i have to install recovery.img and lazyflasher unless my phone gonna brick and its too complicated.
What about Clockwork Mod ?? is it different method ?
I guess i found my path.
1)Installing ROM MANAGER from Play Store of course with rooted device.
2)Install inside of app Clockwork Mod
3)Select custom rom from SD Card and select Gapps, backup, wipe data...
and device gonna reboot do everything automatic is that true and simple ?
My question is using rom manager and install custom rom like that or i have to something extra.
Sorry about my english...
I don't have the phone yet, but i had redmi note 3 before and installing twrp was simply putting it in fastboot mode and using adb command "Flash recovery xxxxx.img" and you are set, considering you have an unlocked bootloader that is. then you follow the installing instructions given by the developer, usually (flash rom.zip followed by gapps.zip). But ofcourse i don't have the phone so take what i said as a refernce only and wait for someone else' reply. as of clockwork recovery, i think twrp is easier to use but there is generally no major diffrence.
Forgot Clockworkmod even existed. Have been using TWRP for ages.
cwm has reached end of support.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860
use twrp
CWM is dead, twrp is one and only option otherwise there is also Red wolf recovery available.
Steps to install a custom Rom.
Unlock bootloader
Flash TWRP
Flash lazyflasher.zip, reboot
Now DL any Rom.zip and desired Gapps package
Boot into TWRP again
Backup (just incase)
wipe > advanced wipe > wipe everything except internal / SD card
Flash firmware.zip, if you're coming from marshmallow based Miui
Flash Rom.zip followed by Gapps
?? ¿
Profit

Revert Back To Stock Rom

I'm currently using Pixel experience
I want to go to Stock MiUi Room
Please Tell me how to!!
My phone is a Pocophone not Poco F1(is there any difference?) Global Edition
I'm curious about how you managed to flash a custom ROM but now you don't know how to flash the stock one ???
Follow this guide dude
just download the RECOVERY ROM from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/xiaomi-poco-f1-unlock-bootloader-custom-t3839405
and flash it via TWRP !
and you are DONE
wana root?
- after flashing ROM, reboot, signin , settle and then come back in twrp and flash magisk19 and reboot
why?
in my xperience the setup wizard takes forever to signin to google if you flash magisk,, i have no explaination why! but it happens with me many times !
The method described above will lock my boot loader again?

I don't know but flashing via mi flash tool can clean all + lock boot loader , it's an easy process .
For this process all you need is mi flash tool + latest miui build+ universal adb drivers .
it would be best to flash xiaomi.eu rom via twrp. No hassle with bootloader, recovery etc
If you want to go back to stock ROM you have two options. First one is via installing stock ROM from recovery and the second one is via fastboot mode. If you search MIUI firmware on chrome and then you have to open the first site. Then search POCO F1 and you will get the ROMs for recovery and fastboot mode. Then follow the instruction on "Munchy" youtube channel.
To install Stock Rom download the recovery Rom and the latest Magisk.zip
Boot to TWRP click install and select the recovery rom then hit add zip and select magisk.zip and swipe to install.
You are done twrp will remain there along with root.

I really need help

Hi, today I was more than seven hours on PCr and tried this....unsuccessfully... I'm really desperate
I have:
-Xperia Z2 (D6503)
-Android 6.0.1
-newest firmware 23.5.A.1.291
-UNlocked bootloader
I am trying to install root, twrp recovery and custom ROM ( specifically this ROM ). But i cannot enter to the recovery mode...
Official twrp-3.0.2-0 succesfully flashed in fastboot but when i try command "fastboot reboot recovery" the mobile only load android and turns on normally... the combination hardware buttons also do not work.
The next question is, What is a kernel ? I have successfully installed this kernel .... Could this be the reason why I can't load the recover mode?
Please help me, I don't know what to do anymore :crying: all I want is root and custom rom
EDIT: okay, i successfully root phone and finally i have access to recovery mode (TWRP 3.0.2-0) by THIS TUTORIAL now i need help with installing the custom ROM step-by-step because if I turn something wrong and phone will be bricked again, I guess I'll kill myself xD so What is next step for install custom ROM please ? Can I just download THIS, install the zip in TWRP and that´s all ???

before you do this you should backup all your important data
1-wipe data factory reset
2- wipe cache
3- install zip rom
4- download google apps and install it by recovery it should be a zip file
5-repot system and enjoy
the recovery is like twrp or cwm it's not a kernel
there is 2 type of kernel :
1-kernel itself
2-kernel with merged recovery
about the kernel and recovery, there is deference the kernel is very important for system to work it connects between the hardware and the software and every operating system has its own kernel but here in android they sometimes merge kernel with recovery but when you flash-kernel or recovery every one replace each other be careful and know that, don't worry you won't brick something in the near future when you will install custom ROMs you will notice that.
if you need any help you can ask me

Can't install TWRP without rooting; need... better drivers...?

Followed the instructions on several websites such as this one here at XDA:
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
All goes well until I get to this line:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (latest TWRP image, renamed)
The command prompt window just sits there and says "(waiting for any device)"...
Most websites and forum threads seem to indicate that this is a problem with the drivers. Can anyone confirm?
FWIW, I did a total reflash of the latest stock ROM from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...icial-stock-fw-update-odin-thread-xx-t3825204
so I currently have only the "stock" recovery.
I'd rather not root it quite yet. Help please?
P.S. The phone shows up in Device Manager and for "adb devices"; the phone's bootloader has been unlocked... can't see what I'm missing... I'm using a Windows 10 computer... I removed any screen locking mechanisms (PIN, fingerprint, etc.)...
Follow this instructions https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/development/recovery-twrp-galaxy-note9-exynos-t4097441
Most samsung device use odin to install twrp

Thanks. I'm trying it with 3.4.0-0
Do I flash this file while I'm still in TWRP? Or do I reboot the phone and go back *into* TWRP to flash it?
>After booting in TWRP download and flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1 zip to disable data partition encryption
Edit: I tried flashing no-verity-opt while still in TWRP. Got the dreaded:
"Verification failed.
Unable to restart your device. The integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data."
I *really* tried to follow the instructions exactly, and think I did.
Was it because I tried to flash 3.4.0-0...?
I am currently re-flashing the stock firmware again.

You need to format data after install twrp. This is avoiding internal data encrypted.
After twrp installed, do format data from twrp. Of course all of ur data on internal erased. And then take custom rom. I suggest devbase rom, this have "no verity encrypt" when u install this rom. Devbase is stock firmware for easy upgrade for rooted phone. And this is easy to install for beginner
Sorry for bad English

No worries. Thank you for your help.
I use Odin to install the Devbase ROM, right? Or can I use TWRP?
Edit: apparently it works just fine to install it with TWRP.
Thank you so much. This time TWRP works just fine for me and the new ROM is great.
