For weeks i tried many roms on my phone, i almost flashed all kinds of roms. But i wasn't satisfy with any of them. Every Rom had some good features and some bad features. Finally i decided to cook my own Rom for myself, i begun to research about how to cook a Rom, for days and days i was learning how to cook a Rom, finally i managed to cook my first Rom, biftor Rom v1.0 . V1.0 was my first Rom and i think it was what i wanted. But i begun to cook my second Rom, I've worked on it for many days. A: If your Ext SD is exFat, then format it as FAT32 don't forget to backup your data.
(For Windows users - try using Easeus Partition Manager - see here)
Q; ART doesn't seem to be working?
A: To activate ART go to Dev Tools/Developer options/Select runtime and ensure "Use Art" is selected. Don't forget to reboot!!!
If that doesn't work - then uninstall Xposed before changing to ART as Xposed doesn't work with ART. (see here)
Q: ART is not working, causing application issues I have xposed framework installed
A: Art should work fine as long as if you are not using xposed framework
Use root explorer
Navigate to system/bin
Check to see if you have 'app_process.orig'
If so delete it and try ART again
Q: What is ART - http://source.android.com/devices/tech/dalvik/art.html
A: ART stands for ‘Android RunTime’ and its job couldn’t be more important: it runs the apps on Android devices.
ART replaces ‘Dalvik’ (named after the Icelandic village where creator Dan Bornstein’s ancestors lived) which has performed this task since Android first appeared.
As you might expect Dalvik was getting very long in the tooth and it wasn’t that great in the first place. In giving it the boot users will get two significant benefits
1. More Speed
Dalvik uses the ‘Just-in-time’ (JIT) process which means it has to transform app source code into an executable program every time it starts.
Android apps have to run through a conversion each time they are started.
By contrast ART uses the ‘Ahead-of-time’ (AOT) process and this compiles (aka does the conversion) when an app is installed.
Using this method apps can launch up to twice as quickly which will have a dramatic effect on the sense of speed of your phone.
2. Better battery Life
AOT processing is making app-launch a less intensive process, so your phone doesn’t have to work as hard which increases battery life.
Using your phone you won’t see a major difference, but significant gains will come in standby as apps which run in the background will now do so more efficiently
Downsides of ART
1. It uses more storage Or to be more precise your installed apps will use more storage – roughly 10% to 20%.
This is because the pre-compiled apps which allow ART to run so quickly and efficiently have to be installed this way which makes them bigger compared to Dalvik’s on-demand method.
For those with a lot of apps installed this could take a significant chunk of your available space, they will also take a little longer to install.
2. Some apps are incompatible on Android 4.4.2, if you do find a key app that doesn’t work it is possible to switch back to Dalvik.

I flash pa_gapps-modular-mini-4.4.2-20131214-signed.zip over. I have fc with clock app (before gapps). I just clear its datas in app settings and run normaly now.
Cool ROM @Biftor. I use it now with beta kernel @dorimanx 10.43v51 (@cybernetus release) and its pleasure to use your ROM again.

Before You Start:
Backup EVERYTHING you want to save from internal and external (SD) storage.
Stage 1:
** REQUIRED if coming from 4.4.4 or below **
** Skip to STAGE 2 if already on Lollipop **
Instructions to Install full Tar File
Full Tar Thread Link --> [ODIN][TAR][5.0] SM-G900P OA6 (Official!)
• BACKUP INTERNAL SD before flashing the tar.
• The full tar wipes Data and possibly internal SD too.
• Extract (unzip) the firmware file:
• Download Odin v3.09 Recoveries & ODIN
• Extract Odin zip-file
• Power down the phone (or pull the battery, it is important to flash the OTA from a powered off state)
• Open Odin v3.09
• Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
• Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
• Add the firmware file to AP / PDA (depending on version of Odin)
• Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
• Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
• Restart and allow the stock rom to boot fully and settle THIS IS MANDATORY
Stage 2:
** Skip to STAGE 3 if already running a custom recovery / TWRP, Philz, Etc **
Install Custom Recovery with Odin
• Download Odin & custom recovery tar Recoveries & ODIN
• Extract Odin zip-file
• Power down the phone
• Open Odin on pc
• Boot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
• Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
• Add the recovery file to AP / PDA (depending on version of Odin)
• Make sure re-partition & Auto Reboot are NOT ticked
• Click the start button.
• Unplug & Reboot phone directly into Recovery Mode (press and hold Power + Volume Up buttons)
Stage 3:
Backup EVERYTHING you want to save from internal and external (SD) storage.
Flashing the Rom
• Format both internal and external storage
** Optional but HIGHLY recommended (Coming from AOSP it's required).
• Reboot back to the stock rom and copy the ROM to INTERNAL storage.
Note:
- This step is optional if you are running a recovery like KTsoonsez_TWRP_04-06-2015.tar.md5 or TWRP-KT.ALL-IN-1.zip
(same recoveries btw, but I created a .tar.md5 Odin flashable version) since these recoveries mount storage and you can copy the rom.zip file
while still in recovery.
• Reboot back into custom recovery.
** If its not there, repeat Stage 2.
• Do a FULL wipe but do not reboot yet
There is no need to wipe internal or external storage again.
A full wipe includes:

** Custom Lollipop ROMs take about 20 minutes to get to the setup screen, so be patient.

That's a Lollipop induced bug.. but we'll get it figured out The toggles float up anytime the space below is completely blank with options removed... But hey it booted! :silly: Lol!

1. Place the ROM onto your device (use either internal or ext-sdcard).
2. Open Your preferred recovery (TWRP) is what I used.
3. While in Recovery Mode Factory Reset
4. Select the Zip under Install
5. Flash Rom

Has anyone had problems with the built in email client. Mine would sync my gmail account once, then when I went back to it, it would ask me to set-up the account again, as if I had never done so.
I installed K9Mail and have not had that same type of problem.

No, only MDK & SS due to aroma installer mentioned in OP. Only way for this to be FF friendly you would have to take the aroma installer and options out AMD change the updater script.

I have found something a little strange, when I click contact icon on home screen and in app drawer, it go to dialer as does the phone icon, is there a way to change contact icon to go to contact and not the dialer.
In appreciation there will be another donation coming your way.
I more question, is there a hotspot tether app that will work with this rom, I do not see one in the app drawer.

Ya i just tried and can confirm that both Phone and Contacts go to the dialer. Honestly though I'm just jaw dropped at all these other features lol been meaning to try LMT launcher for a while and it's just all here
So it sounds like the vast majority of people can't get Aroma installers to work on Flashfire, but I read a couple that said on certain phones if the Aroma-based rom is placed on the root of internal SD they had luck. Did you try messing around with it much? If there are still chances then I could try but would need guidance in a direction to go lol
My apologies if this is a stupid question, but this seems to good to be true so I want to make sure that I'm reading this correctly.
So does this mean that I can flash a few zips from safestrap while i'm on 4.4.2 NK1, and start enjoying a debloated lollipop ROM and still retain safestrap??!?!

Ya I like LMT also. Its in v3 [emoji48] [emoji39] . I'll lnto the contacts thing sounds like the two codings for those apks are pointed to the same spot. As far as FF goes I had a few of my testers test with FF and keep getting black screens . That being said I have no idea if they all used ext SD or internal.

I have to keep saying that I just can't get over how cool this rom is !! There are just so many unique and customizable features!
Good call choosing this and great job porting it @stang5litre!
While setting it up just the way I like it, I found a couple small bugs. Just want to share in case you're not aware.
-when opening quick connect it says update needed then force closes
-Go to: Phoenix rom settings -> Notification panel -> header preferences -> date view style = 1 behind the selection (if you select the first option, it does the second, etc)
- when enabling extra toggles -> (1)(side key panel -- recent apps button actually just functions as the menu button, I think this is a bug), (2)(smart network + network restriction panel don't display in the tiles, so they can never be selected. not sure if it's cause I rearranged them)
-I accidentally enabled, then disabled, then re-enabled the boot sounds (it was confusing because even though they worked, the preference said they were set to off), but instead of the awesome phoenix custom boot sound it went back to VZW. How can I get the phoenix custom boot sound back? (I still have the phoenix shutdown sound)
-Phoenix rom settings -> general mods --> power menu extended --> (*some are shown but none are selected, if you select then deselect any then they will no longer be shown. I was too afraid to test with reboot because I didn't want to lose that reboot menu*) (maybe these can be set to enabled because the 4/5 way boot is enabled out of the box)
Let me know if any of these need more elaboration, lol I just jotted them down over the long while I sifted through the rom.

Good job! I have only a big problem... I have these "famous" pink edges now... I don't know if it's better waiting for a software update to see if the problem is really solved (some users here on xda say that with new display settings its true) or root it... If this is a hardware problem can be difficult to make it change from my seller if I break Knox...
Maybe in future you can implement additional settings for people with this problem? For knowledge the firmware with these settings is from Korea if I understood! Thanks a lot!

nice to see you on the s8 forums just picked mine up yesterday had red tint but latest update fixes the problem so will be rooting and trying this today at some point

Yep,
I've tried Nemesis-rom and one of the problems for us with S8 instead of S8+ is that it didnt check at install what phone it actually was installed on. It always put SM-G955F (S8+) everywhere (build.prop) which made for instance Netflix refuse to stream (mismatched model and phone = bad).
Anyone installed this one and made note if the installer makes sure that it puts in the right modelnumber on this rom?

Ah, thanks. It will be great for those with S8+ phones - but then I guess I never had an issue and could have installed hehe
I have a S8, ie the SM-G950F and im guessing that this rom puts that as default then? Cause the Nemesis rom does the opposite, ie adds SM-G955F which get its wrong for me.

Ok my good people, I bring you a ROM for our great T-Mobile Note 8.
First things First, I am in NO WAY RESPONSIBLE if you brick, damage, break or simply blow up your phone! This is a custom ROM and will void your warranty if shown to a service attendant as is! It is assumed that you know what you are doing if you already rooted your Note 8 and are looking for mods
Okay, so before we begin, there is one simple question we need to ask, are you rooted? If yes, are you using SamFail V2.5? If yes to both, then proceed onwards, if your answer is no then please go here and follow instructions on how to root your Note 8. If you are on SamFail V2.5 then you can flash this rom without worries. If u are on V1 or V3, then you flash at your own risk as I have not tested this on V1 or V3. There are user reports of it working for both, but I can not verify nor confirm this personally, so it is still a risk. For guidance on what bootloader version you are you can also visit the stated link for the root method as that is not what we are covering here.

Ok, so this is my personal ROM, i.e. do not ask or request a mod. If you happen to see a mod for Nougat around other threads and think it is a good mod, post a link with a kind suggestion and if I deem it worthy, I will add it. I am no one's slave, so dont treat me as one, I do this on my free time. Finally and most importantly DO NOT ASK FOR ETA OR TRY TO RUSH ME BY POSTING "WHEN IS ROM GOING TO BE UP". When it is up it is up, PERIOD!!!!!
I have now added an archive to downloads that contains stock files, as well as modded files, and then some. It had all the previous zips to revert to stock, the emojis, everything. Check it it. It is a ZIP file not meant for flashing. Extract the wantd files from the archive and then flash it.
I have also added boot animations and boot sounds so you can flash them. If they are located elsewhere in the phone, you can remove from the archive and place them manually applying the right permissions.
This is now a full ROM, please make sure you understand this as it is different from an add-on mod pack. Follow the instructions correctly to have everything working as it should
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Important Note Before Installing TWIZtd N8. Some apps like WETAmod app, Substratum , UI tuner have issues interacting with my ROM. Delete and clear all of their data before installing if dirty flashing (which I strongly suggest you dont do). You can install them afterwards and modify at your own risk. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
NEW VENGEANCE ROM REQUIRES DATA WIPE FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE. IF YOU ARE USING FLASHFIRE OR SAFESTRAP, PLEASE WIPE DATA, DALVIK, SYSTEM, AND CACHE FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE ON TWIZtd VENGEANCE N8. IF YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT MODS NOT WORKING, I WILL POINT YOU BACK TO THESE LINES WRITTEN HERE AND STATE YOUR FAILURE TO READ OP INSTRUCTIONS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!
Caveat for AOD Custom BG mod. It is pre-installed in the rom. This means when trying to access AOD settings from the settings app, you will get an AOD force close. Follow the instructions in the Q&A on how to get this fixed.
Safestrap Method (Preferred):
Step 1 - Ensure Busybox is installed to /system/xbin.
Step 2 – Ensure that SuperSu is updated.
Step 3 – Install Safestrap, Open Safestrap and grant it permission. (If not already Installed)
Step 4 – Select Install Recovery.
Step 5 – Select Reboot to Recovery.
Step 6 – Select Wipe button.
Step 7 – Select Advanced Wipe and choose, Dalvik, Cache, System, and Data. (Do Three Times)
Step 8 – Select Back Triangle Button to back out to Main menu.
Step 9 – Select Install button.
Step 10 – Navigate to location of downloaded TWIZtd Vengeance N8 and select it.
Step 11 – Swipe to confirm Flash.
Step 12 – Select Reboot System button after install complete.
Step 13 – Upon reboot allow device to fully settle for a couple of minutes as the additional toggles are being added. There will be a toast message indicating the boot is complete.
Step 14 – Go to the bottom of this post and hit the THANKS button.
Step 15 – Enjoy!!!!!
FlashFire Method:

Step 13 – Upon reboot allow device to fully settle for a couple of minutes as the additional toggles are being added. There will be a toast message indicating the boot is complete.
Step 14 – Go to the bottom of this post and hit the THANKS button.

Even though I have set my rotation lock toggle for portrait only, the screen keeps rotating. Is that normal?
It is not normal, it is a bug that I am working on fixing. If and when I find I fix I will update. Some minor bugs are to be expected when modifying a system this much.
I dont want to use Dual Speaker Mod, how can I revert back?
This mod is no longer in the rom by default. There are flashables in the download area in case you want to download and flash and if you wish to revert there is a flashable to get stock speakers back.
Can I use WETAmod with this?
No, WETAmod has certain mods that conflict with mine. So to ensure there are no issues it is best to remove WETAmod app and all data related to it. If you proceed to use it and get a UI fc, then that is on you. If you post an issue of UI fc due to conflict with WETAmod and TWIZtd then I cannot help you as YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
Can I use Substratum with this?
Yes, however when flashing for the first time, make sure to not have any Substratum overlays installed. In fact, delete and clear all app data to ensure proper working conditions. After the mod has been flashed, you can proceed to install Substratum and its wide array of overlays.
I do not see my 1600+fonts or mods to my InCallUI. Do these work?
They do. However, if we update the SamsungSans and Phone apps (as they appear on the apps menu in settings) then we lose the mods. So what needs to be done is go settings, look for the apps menu. Look for each app and when opening to see app information on the top right hand corner you will see a 3 dot menu. Press it, and press on "uninstall updates" for each one. Then you should be good to go on fonts and InCallUI custom BG. When looking for the correct phone app, open from buttom up and look for the one with the 3 dot menu as it is the only one that takes updates so far.
There are overlapping clocks on notification panel when it is expanded, how do I fix that?
Go to TWIZtd Control and go to Notification Panel mods. Look for Quicksettings Preferences and in there look at Stock Clock and Mod Clock. Make sure you have one set for on and one for off.
Every time I press on the "Reboot to Safestrap" from the power menu, I have to grant it SuperSU permission. Is there a way to avoid that?
Yes, there is. Go to the SuperSU app. Go to settings, scroll down to where it says "Trust System User" and check on it. You will no longer be asked for granting SU permission for that or any other permissions needed for System User.

Yes, go to settings and look for the apps menu. Look for contacts app and open it to see app information. There look at App Permisions and toggle "Storage" on
Everytime I try to access the AOD settings from the settings app I get and Always On Display force close. What is up with that?
Because the ROM comes with a modded AOD, it cannot access the AOD app for all stock functions. You can use the stock app for this to set any AOD settings you want and then revert to the modded app for custom bg if so desired. To do this you got to TWIZtd Control->Framework->AOD Mods->AOD Custom BG. You will see there two preferences to download modded or stock AOD. Download the stock one, reboot to Safestrap, flash it, power up and now u should be able to access the AOD settings. To get the modded AOD, download the modded file and repeat the process.
Is this a mod pack still or a full ROM?
This is now a full rom.
What is the difference between Chimera and TWIZtd?
Theres not much. Chimera does have a heavily modified CSC, where TWIZtd has a more stockish with some features added. The TWIZtd CSC is based on SamFail 2.5 which is for V2 bootloaders and Chimera uses CSC for V3 bootloader. There are other features that separate these two, but they are not noticeable.
Do I need to install the add-on pack to get MMS, Call log, InCallUI and AOD mods going?
No, you do not need that. It is all now included in the rom from first flash.
When applying a theme and going to the lockscreen I get UI fc and had to re-install the whole rom, what gives?
Some themes include their own pinpad digits and remove the stock ones. If the pinpad mod for custom text and size of the pinpad digits and text is on, it will be pointing at a null object (i.e. nothing) making it fc. Ensure that you have this mod turned off when trying new themes to ensure the theme does not have custom digits put in the pinpad.

What do u mean updated? It was already in the latest version. Explain
Edit: Did you simply download a newer version (not that I have seen a newer one out but if there is one) and install as a normal APK? or did you go to where the one I put in was located in /system/priv-app/3MinitBatterySettings? If you did place it in the system folder and put the correct permissions in then all should be fine, if you installed like a normal apk, then I am guessing thats where things went astray. Try going to apps, look for 3Minit, and when you open it there should be 3 dots in the upper right corner, press on them, and it will show "uninstall update" press on that and reboot. Also, check to see that you did not mistakingly disable the app. Go to apps in settings and look for the 3Minit app and check to see if it is marked as disabled. That is really all the info I can give you right now, because I really do not know what it is you did.
