[TWRP][Android 6.0][3.1.0-0][c9lte][c9 pro][Indian][Root][decrypt] Work in Progress - Samsung C9 Pro ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

TWRP 3.1.0-0 for Samsung Galaxy C9 pro (SM-C900F) indian variant
This recovery is tested only on indian variant but should work on other variants too.
Code:
Flashing custom recovery and boot images will trip knox flag
and it can not be reverted. Your warranty will be void.
I am not responsible for any data loss or damage happens to device.
THIS PROCEDURE CAN CAUSE DATA LOSS . PLEASE MAKE A BACK UP BEFORE PROCEEDING.
This TWRP is built from source. It support back up of system, efs persist partitions.
As default samsung encrypts data and internal storage so by default you cannot mount data, system or internal storage.
So for removing encryption we have to format data and load decryption script given below.
Steps
1.Boot into Download mode
[Vol. Down + Home + Power]
2.Flash recovery.tar.md5 from odin [use latest 3.12 version and put tar.md5 in AP slot] and keep pressing Vol. Up + Home while flashing tar.md5 so that it will boot directly into recovery after reboot.
3. In recovery keep system read only.
4. go to backup menu and backup all partitions. Now reboot to normal OS
5. connect the phone to PC and copy the TWRP folder from storage to PC. (this is back up for restoring)
6. Back up your data, pictures, contacts, sms, whats up, telegram messages etc.
7. reboot to recovery [Vol up + Home + Power] and format data and in advanced wipe - format system, data, internal storage, cache, davlik from wipe menu.
8. connect phone to pc , now you can see internal storage.
Download & Copy
i) no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx from https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...wrp-3-0-2-1-samsung-galaxy-a9-pro-sm-t3426701
ii) SuperSu https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55256620&postcount=1
to storage
Now copy your TWRP back up to storage.
9.Now from restore menu install the back up. > Go to install and select the above 2 zips for install.
10. after installing all this you have rooted phone with decrypted twrp . Now boot to os
Remember to make back up of this rooted configuration in TWRP so that you can always get back to this configuration when ever you want.

Atlast... Feeling blessed..
Thank you K2wl for working on this phone.
Will flash this TWRP & Let you know the status.
Is this TWRP version same as the one in the other thread? Because I already tested the TWRP in the other thread & posted few issues. Are they rectified?
Please let us know.

K2wl,
Any chances of porting Custom Roms on C9 Pro like Cynogen Mod 6.0 or Lineage OS.
Simple roms for this beast phone would be great.
Any plans for this from your side?
Just curious.. :good:

Can we install xposed with this

use format data from advanced wipe.
type yes for formating data
after that go back to install and install no-verity-no-encrypt script above from internal storage.
if that does not solve your problem then copy the recovery log here.

[Guide] Use F2FS file system for best performance.

I used F2FS file system on data and cache partition and now its like i have a nexus 6p there is little to no UI lag or even any delay in opening apps.
Used to use F2FS on my previous devices(lg g2, Galaxy S2 and Xperia Z ultra) and man the effect was noticeable from day1, so tried it on this device and guess what it works flawlessly.
Here is a thread for comparition between F2FS vs EXT4(the default one).
So here is guide for you guys its Highly dangerous setup so please follow this if you know how to restore a SoftBrick status.
Caution:--
ONLY FOR CM13 and N based roms which support F2FS, If used on OOS3 or H2OS(mm) it will result in not converting the data/cache partition properly and will end up 0mb partition because of modified twrp used for these roms and you wont be able to be mount your internal memory too.
Backup backup backup. Make sure you take a backup and save it on your pc before performing the steps.
Things you can do to make your life easier:--
Clean flashing of rom is highly recommended but you can try dirty too as it does not touch the system partition but still clean is preferred.
Use ZipMe app to make a zip file for your apps so that installing all those apps becomes easier if coming from clean flash.
Full backup of your internal memory files as this setup formats even your internal memory even if you select only the data partion.
Best stay on stock kernel as there is no mention of any cm13 custom kernel to have f2fs support. They may have but in any thread of these i couldnt find f2fs word anywhere. So stay stock.
Rom compatibility/tried on:--
Exodus.
All cm13 based roms work flawlessly.
LineageOS14
Kernel compatibility:--
Darkbeast
Stock kernel or the one provided by default by the rom.
Yarpin's kernel.
Benschold kernel.
Note:- Please this method has worked on F2FS supported roms only before following any of it make sure your rom developer has incorporated f2fs support in his/her rom.
Steps:--
Use revert2lollipop to revert back to lollipop firmware if you are on OOS3/H2OS and wanna try f2fs.
Download and upgrade your twrp version to latest.
Copy the .img file to your root folder and reboot to twrp select--->Install-->Install images button-->select the new .img file you copied and reboot to recovery.
Format everything including your internal memory.
Go to advance wipe and select cache partition and select repair and change file system, once there select change file system and change it to f2fs and swipe. Images.
Repeat the above step for data partition.
Go to twrp settings and tick rm -rf, this will make your device retain your f2fs system after clean flash of some roms.
Reboot your recovery once and copy back all your data back to your internal memory.
Flash the required modem for your rom and clean flash your rom for the best bug free experience.
Benefit!
PS:- Please if someone daring does use this on another rom and if everything works flawlessly then please post about it, i will add it compatible roms/kernels.
Press thanks if it worked for you and do post about any improvements you saw.

Yeah for now, since for f2fs roms to work properly the kernel also needs to support the file system and no custom kernel has f2fs as a feature mentioned in their list. I couldnt find anything related to f2fs even with the search function, will update the thread if f2fs support is confirmed by the devs of the respective kernels.

when I reboot in twrp.. how do I put all data in sd card?..with ROM ..Modem etc..?
is it possible? if I connect the phone to usb..I'll see internal memory?

Yeah if you connect to PC after conversion you will be able to access your memory as you used to with default system.
Just make sure to wipe system, data, cache, dalvic, internal before going any further for good measure.

Honestly I wouldn't notice a difference unless you put 2 phones running ext4 and f2fs side by side for comparison. But if I were to really force an answer out from myself I would say that app opening and switching times are greatly reduced.
you really deserved more thanks for this guide.. keep it up and great work!

It really isnt needed because in system partition most of the time only read function is done while data and cache constantly need read/write functions to be performed so you wont notice anything different if you format system to f2fs.

flashing basics

hii,
My device is currently running on miui 8.5.4.0 global stable,i want to flash los 14.1,and planned some steps in order to revert back to miui safely.please correct me if i am wrong.
1.boot into twrp recovery.
2.Take full backup of current working rom including system.
3.clear data/system/cache/dalvik.
4.flash firmware-los rom-gapps-reboot.
Steps to revert back:-
1.boot into twrp recovery.
2.clear data/system/cache/dalvik.
3.restore full miui backup including system.
4.flash lazy flasher zip to disable dm-verity and forced encryption.
5.reboot.
i have just learnt basics completely but i had some doubts so i posted the entire procedure i thought to do.
thanks.
After taking backup first go to Wipe menu and "Format Data" , type yes and reboot recovery, it will remove encryption - then you can wipe data/system/cache etc..
/system wipe is never necessary .. You can skip that

Every ROM does contains its own system ..
When you flash any ROM (a full fledged ROM not OTAs) , the previous system is replaced by the later one ..

You'll have to understand what Format Exactly we are here talking about .. When you go to TWRP/wipe , you are provided with 2 options , Format and Advanced wipe .
The format option is set to "wipe" the partitions, /data /cache /dalvik , that is generally what we require in order to flash ROMs , the wipe Option is hence the same as format , but I think the guy above is talking about Full fledged Wipe that includes the "internal storage" as well which can be selected by twrp/wipe/advanced wipe

thanks.one more question.
why dont i need to disable dm-verity and forced encryption after flashing custom rom?why kernel doesn't trigger it,because in that case there is a modification in system partition and dm-verity feature of kernel should prevent the rom from booting.
The "kernel" itself also gets replaced by a modified kernel .. But then again , I'm not sure as to why DM verity doesn't kick in , better ask the Developers (Y)

[TUTORIAL] HowTo Decrypt the Phone and have a Working Full Backup

Update May 23 2019
Now with new Twrp wzsx150 u dont need to follow this Tutorial to get full Backup to work because twrp can Auto decrypt your files
For all Who followed the guide already and want a encrypted device. Do a Format and dont use remove forceencrypt.
New twrp

Hello
Many people ask me to make a Tutorial HowTo have a full decrypt phone with full backup working.
Before we start u need to flash the newest Recovery from wzs150 Team https://mega.nz/#!WOZEBCpD!UlyCdDaP-UxuwvzLzDE4yzaqi5qMz-I8iOkseQ5gmP0
Steps to flash recovery should be already known or are available in other Threads on xda
So Now lets begin.
First of all you need to know you need to do format Data through the following process. So Backup your Data on your PC, TWRP NOT working
Lets Start.
1. Boot into TWRP
2. Format Data in Wipe Section (The one you need to type yes) i dont reboot TWRP after that
3. Flash the Rom u want
4. Go Back to the Start Screen of TWRP and Click "Advanced" and "RM Forceencrypt"
5. Uncheck "Remove DM Verity" and check "Remove Forceencrypt"
6. Now youre phone is full decrypted and Backup of all partitions are working
7. If u want Magisk flash it now
Notes:
Dont boot your phone before you did the "RM Forceencrypt" step or your decryption gets lost
If u update ur Rom you ALWAYS need to do Step 4 and 5
If u coming from another Rom and want to restore the Rom u need also to restore "Boot"
If u flashing now another Rom you dont need to do format data, wipe data is enough, but always RM Forceencrypt after Rom Flash
Have a nice day
Greetings from Germany
Nice, thx for that ! =)

Boot is one of the Partitions u can Backup. Its where Ur Kernel is located
I dont uncheck "Remove DM Verity" and working too. I select both. Good guide, thanks.
Thanks for this!
Thanks for the step. I can backup now.
But the next time I update, always need to repeat "Remove Forceencrypt"; otherwise, phone cannot boot.
Assume this is needed until future update twrp version. a bit inconvenient, but ok.
Hello. I now use xiaomi.eu I don't want to format data.
I do a step 4 and 5 and can't backup. When I want to boot system nothing.....
I back to Twrp and make reverse step 5 and flash the same rom I have and system working fine. How to make backup without format data?
Wysłane z mojego MI 9 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Not possible. Maybe only wipe of data works but i didnt tested it. Twrp cant decrypt the data on your Phone it can only prevent the Phone to encrypt it
still no encryption support with twrp beta 10 people call formatting data "decrypt" or "unencrypt" all across board, so it adds to false expectations. would never turn off encryption to get, like, backup?

I've not ried it yet as I don't have the phone yet, but apparently this twrp (mi9-3.3.0-9.0-b17) supports encryption, you can use it to backup your encrypted data partition. Though, I'm probably too late and you've wiped already...
EDIT, just read the rest of the thread, seems I'm a bit late to the party! That twrp is already mentioned!!

Ahhh no. I tried to backup with earlier versions of TWRP and they failed with an error message. This version seemed to backup OK, but I've not tried a restore yet.
I'm just playing with Titanium backup so once I've got a good backup with that, I'll try TWRP B17 and report back.
Cheers
@vtec303 I just had a play and restore seems to work fine. My TWRP is:
recovery-mi9-3.3.0-9.0-b17.img by wzsx150.
Here's what I did:
Booted into TWRP and backed up Data, System and Boot to an OTG SD card
In TWRP performed a factory reset.
Booted into System, went through the Android setup (not wifi) and checked that all my 3rd party apps had disappeared, I had no SMS or calendar events.
Booted into TWRP and did a restore of all 3 partitions from the previous backup.
Booted into System and found all my 3rd party apps, SMS, Calendar and could browse the web so wifi was configured.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Just a bit extra....
As we know, TWRP doen't back up media data (photos music etc) but I was interested to spot that a factory reset using TWRP doesn't delete all that data either. Pretty handy for me as I'm testing out some backup packages and I don't have to restore all my media files lol.
Cheers

There's no guarantee nothing, don't use it if you don't know what you're doing!
SAVE your DATA!
It is recommended that you use the latest ugglite Xiaomi firmware. (2019.11.05 Global)
Make sure you have a custom recovery installed (TWRP (or clones) is the preferred recovery) My TWRP: LINK
Boot into recovery
Wipe dalvik, system, data, cust (vendor), cache partitions
If your /data partition secured, maybe need format /data.
Flash Rom (sideload or copy any storage)
Flash Magisk Root (Optional)

Unfortunately all AOSP-based ROMs are still in the test phase, so we wait for a stable OS.

After I make the final version of the ROM, I install it and when it works I only upload it.
Deleting/formating partitions is important.
TWRP works perfectly for me.
It is recommended that you use the latest ugglite Xiaomi firmware.
I can deal with these after further feedback.
thanks, i will try also can you build more like Evolution X ??

These ROMs are all equally bad for the time being, faulty applications, faulty Ui, faulty settings, faulty permissions, etc.
I think unnecessary to try many BETA ROMs for now.
And a lot of unnecessary work.
alright thanks you so much

I tried DU-REX.
No messenger in it, I didn't get an SMS today ...
There is no FM radio.
It has GalleryGO but cannot associate it with a contact image... I needed to install another image viewer...
The lights are not working properly. (But this is common in other ROMs.)
Alpha version. But the boot animation is cool...

ROM OS Version: 10.x Q
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.18.140 (not my work)
ROM info: Q10 Lineage 17.1, system_root partition, Android quota removed (easier to go back to earlier 7.x-9.x ROMs).
If you have previously used Android 9.x or 10.x ROM which has a quota set on the data partition, you can remove the quota in TWRP, and not need format the data partition (this method tested, working was for me, but no guarantee for by all means)
commands:
Code:
tune2fs -O ^quota /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata
tune2fs -Q ^usrquota,^grpquota /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata
If you then use a ROM that configures quota (fstab.qcom), you can start over, if do not want quota. Or cleaning from fstab: "quota".

I am not aware that it contains malicious code in the ROM, I have never put it in. This is a ported ROM, all its elements come from the Internet.
You're welcome.
I'd like to get feedback on whether VOLTE is working? Thanks.
wow thanks i'm gonna test now

Thanks for you great rom again, @szanalmas :good:
Thanks for this rom. I have tried it and liked it a lot, except for two problems I have been able to find:
1. VoLTE does not work.
2. DT2W does not work. I've flashed the fix you've put in other topics and it didn't work either.
Thank you for your work and time!
I cant install magisk
please make a original TWRP 3.3.1 like 3.2.1

I do not think so.
Y1 Q10 vendor image and Y1 kernel would be nice.
But I don't know for sure.
If the kernel starts, it is possible. If the LCD and touchscreen match, then the cameras are in question.
But I know that the kernel does not have msm8940 support and Y1 uses 8940 as far as I know.
So you probably won't boot the kernel.
