Hi everyone I bought a new Redmi Note 4 [Snapdragon] and I tried to unlock bootloader in my phone by official method, but it didn't succeed. Any other or unofficial method to unlock bootloader in Redmi Note 4 [Snapdragon]. Plzzzz any Dev's and bro's plzzzz help me.

First off I'm no dev
There are no unofficial methods available to unlock bootloader on redmi-note-4, you should wait few more days, and try again with the latest mi unlock tool. You'll get your phone unlocked.
BTW, choose find my device then let it locate your phone, reboot your device few times then try unlocking.

First off I'm no dev
There are no unofficial methods available to unlock bootloader on redmi-note-4, you should wait few more days, and try again with the latest mi unlock tool. You'll get your phone unlocked.
BTW, choose find my device then let it locate your phone, reboot your device few times then try unlocking.

You can make a DIY Engineering Cable (Google it) or order one online to flash directly. That's probably the only method of doing anything to Redmi Note 4.
As for the official unlock method, ****in' read the forums, there are hundreds of threads. Just wait a few days after getting confirmation SMS and voila, phone unlocked. You can also use a chinese VPN for instant unlock

Why didn't it succeed.
Did you get an error code?
Some more info would be good before you go building some deep flash cables that won't work...

Did you wait 71 hours after binding your account with the unlock option in phone? If not, please do and try again later.

I assumed it was the 50% account validation error and posted the solutions (wait few days or use chinese VPN).. But he wanted to know about unofficial methods, so I addressed that as well. :/

Just download Fly VPN from play store, then open it, choose china > Shanghai [the first one], tap connect, once it gets connected, open settings > more settings > dev option > mi unlock status > choose add an acc. That's it.
Ignore whatever the error you'll see while doing that.

70 hours is less than 3 days. You are getting the unlock before most of us who didn't know the VPN trick back then. It took us 5-7 days after the confirmation sms to get the unlock done. And some people were getting the error even after 10 days or more.
I had the same problem with the 72h wait. I just used an older version of the unlocker software from mi and it worked without waiting!! You can find it in this Post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...p-step-guide-to-flash-android-n-beta-t3551221.

With that being said, i have contacted the seller and they told me to perform a wide data process with a chinese miui pc suite. I have tried to do that but as soon as i begin the process, it cancels by itself. I am hoping someone can shed some light to this.

Your device isn't even booting? Or you were just assuming that by the error ''current account isn't bound to this account''?
Everyone in here, who've unlocked their bootloader have faced those errors / issues. Heck even 99% stuck error lol
Give Xiaomi servers time to sync your device details, eventually you'll get your phone unlocked.

The device is stuck on a bootloop. It wont boot anything but a miui white logo with a black background.

I've tried to follow the guide as best as i could but it still wont work. In order for this guide to work, i have to turn my phone off and no matter what i do, it will not turn off unless it is out of battery. All i can do is go to the recovery screen, miui loading screen or fastboot. :/ Any ideas?

Huh, damn.
I think there are fastboot flashable Miui [stock roms] available. Not sure if it's works with locked bootloader. Wait lemme find you the guide.

I had applied for bootloader unlock permission and was granted it. I also switched to the Dev version of MIUI. I have enabled OEM unlocking, but under MIUI Unlock status section, when I try add account and device, I get an error code 86012 followed by a Chinese error message. Due to this, the Mi Flash application fails at 50%. I have attached a screenshot of the error below
Any help or explanation to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

If I recollect correctly, it was 5 days. Just try once everyday. You might get it sooner.

I didn't reformat it everyday. Just plugged it in everyday and checked if it would unlock the bootloader. After a few days of trying, voila it unlocked on the 5th day

If you want to stick to MIUI Global Beta don't flash TWRP. Otherwise in my opinion LineageOS 14.1 is really nice if you like a minimalist ROM

How you switched roms? I mean how did you get miui developer rom? I also wanted the developer version of miui but as far as i know one needs to make a dfc cable or unlocked bootloader. So did you used dfc cable.

The dev version of the ROM can be installed using the updater app. You can download the zip and from the updater app select it as the update package. For this you need not use the dfx cable or have an unlocked bootloader.
The only scenario where the cable is needed is when you want to access fastboot when the bootloader is locked and you use EDL mode to flash

Lemme elaborate, you got permissions and you tried to unlock bootloader using latest tool, you tried unlocking from the day you got permissions, you keep tryin' to unlock every now and then, you got & still gettin' failed again and again, But every time you try to unlock it says you need to bind your mi account or whatever the error. So, the solution? Dude, not only you, the ones who's got their mi device's unlocked, everyone faced the same error or whatever the issues while unlocking bootloader. Even i faced those problems while unlocking and finally got my device unlocked after 7 days from the permission day.
I'd like to suggest you that, do not switch or change any mi accounts, do not switch Roms to unlock bootloader or do not try every now and then!
Just use your device for a span of 5-7 days from now on and try unlocking at the 5th day or so on.
I repeat do not ever try every now and then or not even everyday, let Xiaomi servers sync... Way to go!

Not an issue
As i said, just use ugly Miui for a good 5 days or max. 7 days, don't try again and again. And there's an older version, try with that tool. After few days, Cuz latest version asks to bind their mi account, older version doesn't.
Can you try the mi unlock I attached. it's an older version and performs less checking.

Older version of mi tool works too. But you might face 50% stuck error on an older version of tool. So, better stick to Miui for a good 5 days and try unlocking using new tool.

Tried to unlock again today. But got stuck at 99%. Will try again after 5 or 7 days now. Will update you if it works.

I fix it going on the excecutable of miflash_unlock.exe and on properties - general tap i have it locked, just check that (i have win7) , after unlock i unlock fine!

Well is your device Mi Max?? No. So all you can do is wait for someone to crack it, which is highly unlikely. It's not that easy stuff. When the pro devs get time and enough info they will surely do it.
And as far as the official unlock process through the MiUnlock software goes please wait for at least 5 days before trying to unlock again after a failed attempt. It sounds weird but it really is the solution most of the times. Just wait don't even try doing anything for 5 days and on the 6th day when you try you will most likely succeed. Try it. I didn't mean any offence. Sure, your free to ask anything here. BTW do try waiting for some days before trying to unlock and also turn on Mi Sync for everything. Check MIUI forum on how to succeed in unlocking bootloader there are lot more tips and tricks regarding that topic there than here on XDA.

Nah there is no unofficial way to unlock for rn4. You have to wait
Hey guys I am facing this error at 99% for past 4 months whenever I try to unlock the bootloader of my Redmi note 3 . I have successfully unlocked the bootloader of my Redmi note 3 6 months ago but locked it using mi flash so what should I do now .please tell me if you have a fix
I dont think there is proper solution for now...Most likely the problem is their server side ! Me too having same Issue and stucked there, tried everything to unlock officially and desperate now ! Tried different software variants but nothing helped
Its issue from last few months i think, people who were successful before are not able to do now,so their servers dead is all i could assume

As i already said before. Beta rom or stable rom has nothing to do with it. I unlocked mine on stable rom.
Syncing is very important. Ur device and miaccount info should be synced with xiaomi sever. Keep it enable for wifi and mobile data. The server which sends unlock key is not synchronised with ur device everyday. May be weekly they update thier server. The reason why u see this errors.
So keep sync on and dont change roms.
You wouldn't believe me but I unlocked my Redmi note 3 4 months ago but here is the fun part I wasn't on miui I was on the remix which I flashed using flashing zcx twrp on locked bootloader .So I think the Xiaomi servers look only for miui account and not for device?????

So you are not able to reproduce that as well?
Yeah I have posted on miui forum regarding the issue current account can't unlock this device .Go there and hit the confirm button and comment too

same problem.... i think its since 2018 u cant unlock the redmi note 3 anymore.... it sucks cause now i cant use it cause miui is anoying... used to unlock the phone no problem....

There is no such thing. I unlocked my RN3 2 times today without any hassle.

you have a spécial edition kate?
cause as you can see im not the only one... beofr 2017 i unlocked it 3 time. and even my moms one. but since both bootlaoded in the same week...
i relashed miui 3 months after cause lazy and then i could unlock mine. no problem then i bricked it again flashed miui and wa to lazy to unlock again now it won't unlock anymore like all the people in here.. there unlock tool is broken..

I have redmi note 3 (snapdragon) 2 GB version. MI Unlock works fine. You should update to the latest tool and try again.

hi im using the lastest version since 2017.. there is no update... but my problem is also i cant seem to link my account to the phone.... it couldn't verify retry later again..
i will reset my phone maybe that helps... if not reflash latest beta, it that not helps flash stable... im kinda desperate... and fed up with my lenovo phab 2 with its slow quad core mediatek cpu that is SLOWWWW AF

Your account is not in sync. Try to enable MI cloud sync. Then try after 1 hour.

it's enabled mi cloud. it located my phone no problem. hum i will try and turn on all sync item i only have wifi and something els on cause don't want miui getting my contacts etc. i have Google ofr that

I want to share how to cut unlocking time. Before i start doing this way i was have 255h Now 120H
Guide: Download From Here http://www.miui.com/download-345.html Latest China Dev Miui10
Go to do Settings /My Device/Miui Version/top right side 3dots/Chose update zip navigate downloaded Zip wait for flash.
After successfully installing go to do Mi Unloc Status and add account than try Unlock!
Warning! All your internal, system data will erased! And after flashing will ask you your account password.
Good look my account now have 117H

This will not unlock your bootloader because basically you only participate into beta program on which you can install miui 9 beta build as well as miui 10 beta as long as it is a chinese rom

Don't know Dude. If you not planning to unlock your device don't install China dev but if you want to unlock u can try. Why i said this, after unlocking u will have twrp custom roms, easily you can do what you wish.

Sure! Your device will unlock immediately bcz this method 120h cutting. Your waiting time will finish. Ofc if you unlock bl u can install which rom you want. But after installing global rom u can't lock your bl if you will do that on Global rom u will get bootloop.

@Dlm38 Strange many users confirmed and mine also 120h.
Are you connect your account after installing rom? Developer options /Mi unlockbStatus enter your account again and try unlock.

In roms kernel section your answer. If you planning to root your device i recommend you install miui 10 xiaomi. eu rom. All languages there is have.
