FAQ
Q: Are you taking device requests?
A: If and only if the device is using an msm8916 chip, and you're willing to buy me/donate the device for testing, sure.
Q: But I don't have that kind of money! What else?
A: Alternatively, if you're skilled with Linux and adb, and have an unsupported device, if you're willing to work with me as a tester, that works as well.
Q: Are you accepting feature requests?
A: Unless you're willing to implement it yourself, no.
Q: Can you make XXX ROM as well as LOS?
A: Unless more people donate, no. I simply don't have the time to maintain more than LOS nor money to hold that many ROMs on my already (tiny) struggling server.
Q: Can I throw money at you?
A: Most certainly. Donations are always welcome.

You want to help?
We need hardware power to get the builds done.
If you want to help us go faster, send a PM to @kentone or
@vince2678. Your computer will act as a client for our jenkins server.
In a perfect world, that would be all, but unfortunately no. We need money to keep the server running and keep bringing these ROMs.
As always, logcat any problem you find.

PLEASE, don't PM @vince2678, as he's busy right now, and your questions can be not answered. PM @kentone instead, write here on the post, or on the telegram group, your questions will be responded as soon as we can Understand that we have family, studies and jobs aside of this project. Thanks for your understanding

Just tried it and it is really awesome couple of bugs though but hope they will be shortly fixed
one of the bug is that the tile doesnt get managed if we drag it....other bugs are already mentioned by dev
Really thankful for dev for making it available for j500H

@vince2678 , typo in changelog date (it's still 2016)

There's a problem with the updater-script, if you're coming from a ported rom it'll detect different variant.
I've deleted the part that checks if the device is 3gxx. Voila.

That's not a problem with the updater script. That's a problem with the rom you're running not being compatible with the rom you're trying to install, and happens when there's a mismatch of device strings.

Okay it's not a problem in updater-script, but it detects j5lte in my j53g, maybe it's because of my current rom. But Thanks this Rom works with blazing fast performance ?

[B][U]29/08/2017[/U][/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B] [B] Added KeyDisabler. For devices with touch keys controlled separately
from the touch screen, this means that the virtual Nav Bar
can be enabled in the Settings. [/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B] [B] Shifted to using a kernel driver for disabling touch devices
when the screen is off instead of a user service for that. [/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B] [B] Updated kernel to the latest upstream AOSP and
CAF tags. There should be a noticeable performance boost. [/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B] [B] Shifted to using OSS GPS code instead of prebuilt libs.
Location applications should be getting and reporting
satellite fix information properly. [/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B] [B] Disabled cpusets support, which was slowing
down the system performance. [/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B] [B] The auto time zone feature should now be working
proper, (that is, without resetting the time zone
to 0000 UTC).[/B]
Code:
[B][U]08/06/2017[/U][/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B] [B] The "message not sent" bug in text messaging

security extended attribute support (for SElinux) to fix
android support.[/B]
Code:
[B][U]15/05/2017[/U][/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B][B] Wifi driver is now built-into the kernel again.[/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B][B] The sleep issue should be fixed in the latest build.
This was due to the failure to set a critical kernel
variable at boot because the kernel init system was
not interpreting a boot command line variable correctly.[/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B][B] Touch screen should be disabled properly during
calls and when the screen is off.[/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B][B] Rotation sensor should be working properly in
the latest build.[/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B] [B] F2FS is enabled in-kernel, so F2FS filesystem

Code:
[B][U]05/05/2017[/U][/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B][B] Wifi driver is being built as a module for now,
transitioning to a new kernel somehow broke the ability
to build it into the kernel binary.[/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR]][/B][B] Transitioned to a new kernel based on T560NU and
J500H MM kernel sources (J500HXXU2BPJ9 and T560NUUES1BPL1). [/B]

compared to using FUSE as an overlay.[/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B] [B] In-call audio should now work fully without having to
toggle the loudspeaker. [/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B] [B] Brightness adjustment should be functional. [/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B] [B] Video recording should be fully functional [/B]
Code:
[B][U]15/07/2017[/U][/B]
* [B][[COLOR="Red"]FIX[/COLOR]][/B] [B] RIL should be fully functional. The
RIL service was not starting at boot for the second SIM. [/B]
* [B] [ [COLOR="Red"]NOTE[/COLOR] ][/B] [B] Fixed support for all bootloaders.
The culprit was a hardcoded string in the bootloader
passed to the kernel, which is not recognised if the
bootloader is older than the display driver and vice-versa. [/B]

Yes,and btw LOS 14.1 screenshots uploaded now !
Finaly J500H development is brought back to life.
Nice to see someone still going for making something new instead of using old sources we have available. I'm sure this is going to be better than any other Custom ROM released before, because the dev is using updated CAF sources (kernel here is updated to LA.BR.1.2.9 caf branch while me and other devs were still on LA.BR 1.1.3 left by nick & ganesh). I'll keep my fingers crossed as J5 devices really need a solid update.

Codeaurora sources are optimized for snapdragon devices so everything should work better, be faster and more stable.

The source codes of code aurora (CAF) are always updated and many errors are constantly solved.
Besides having drivers that in Samsung source codes are not present.

[ROM][SM-P605][8.1] Unofficial LineageOS 15.1 for lt03lte (26.01.2018) [ALPHA]

This is only for SM-P605 (lt03lte)! Even loading an custom recovery will irreversible trigger Knox to 0x1!
What if i gave an Oreo ... to our Note 10.1 2014 LTE.
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (Oreo) (yeah, it's Oreo, but it isn't in Project OS Version list yet), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (GApps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS GitHub repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit Gerrit Code Review.
This is an early build for testing. It's not intended as daily driver. Man things are broken and many bugs can occur.
How to flash:
-Be sure you are on 5.1.1 Bootloader and Modem (Flash 5.1.1 firmware via Odin) !
-Flash TWRP (version 3.0.0-0 or newer recommended)
-Make Nandroid backup (optional)
-Wipe > Advanced Wipe > select data, system, ART/Dalvik Cache, Cache, Internal Storage > Swipe
-Install > select Lineage15.1 Zip > Swipe
-Reboot
Please read full OP before posting or flashing anything. Please don't report any bugs, if you use Xposed, any mod or modified the system.

Thx for fix @davidmueller13
Thank you for your hard work, David. Keep it up! Samsung has given up on us with 5.1.1. I'm really happy, that our device is still alive!
I am quite busy at the momemt, so I can't help you with beta testing. But I am looking forward to more stable builds !
Awesome rom totally extends the life of the device.
A couple of minor issues:
* TWRP-3.0.3 seems to automatically reboot when it installs the mentioned open_gapps-arm-8.0-micro-20170824-UNOFFICIAL.zip
* Netflix installed from app store but won't launch (not sure if this is Rom specific or lineage 15 in general)
* Physical home button doesn't wake up the device
Other notes:
* Magisk 14.0 worked fine without any issues

Quick tutorial on how to send proper logs to help fixing an issue.
If you already enabled Developer options (settings) and have adb tools, start from 5.
Download the SDK Platform-Tools (adb and fastboot) for Windows or [url="https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-linux.zip]for Linux[/url] or [url="https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-darwin.zip]Mac[/url].
Enter Settings and scroll down to About phone and tap on Build number seven times.
Go back to Settings and switch to System and open Advanced tab.
Click on Developer options, scroll down to Debugging section and there you have Android debugging. Enable it.
Unzip the platform-tools and open CMD or Terminal, navigate there.
Type adb logcat -b all > *name*.log and then upload the log somewhere, preferably some paste sites.

Following April release, the sources have been released public.
Please do not release any third-party builds and sign my name next to it.
The sources might not always be stable and ready to build.
Also, please don't do any unneeded forks or reuploads/mirrors.
Don't comment for this.. i have already fixed wifi :]

if these things are working, the ROM qualifies to be "stable enough" driver in my opinion.

LineageOS repos with little experimental changes in kernel that may broke the camera actually ?
I have tested your build and I wrote my experience in your thread. (tested is not a good word here)

I don't have got d850 variant, but I will try to do that if someone can help me with testing. I don't want to spread unusable ROMs.
First of all thanks for the work and the rom. After a few minutes of testing (taking into account that it is an alpha version), as errors initially observed in my case: mtp mode does not work (the pc does not recognize the mobile), however it does load connected to the pc. Camera (i use snap camera) not working
GPS working (locates and fixes my location very quickly).
In my modest opinion, very good first approximation to oreo in g3. Waiting for wifi ... Regards
Posting from your ROM..soo yeah its working
Can I flash supersu?
Juste miss some feature (nonworking from op + advanced reboot..,etc)
Great!

For root, I flashed magisk 14 without problem (mr_bump not necessary)
I will test the rom if you can build it. Shouldn't be too difficult, cherry pick some of the D850 parts in the build. I'm by no means a rom developer, so see what you can do bud. Thanks man! Keep me posted or message me when you get it built.

I'll test it man, if you want to build it. Shouldnt be too diffficult, just minor changes from the D855 to the D850. Let me know when you have a build up for me, send me a message! ?

That's nice and all but why would you not share how to fix wifi and just keep it to yourself?

Have you tried to check if advanced options (tap build version 7 times) are working? I forgot to check it?
SuperSU should work, but I recommend Magisk.

Do you have WhatsApp or something like that?
@HardStyl3r: yes developer options appear and is active when you tap 7 times on build.
flashed magic14 but got into secure mode after reboot (all app are grey and unable to launch, expect native app) i havent use magic14 so i'm pretty sure I've miss something.. (just flashed the .zip in twrp).. i'll try the classic supersu
Battery life seems fine (no battery drain during the night)
@joselap: check/uncheck usb debugging in dev option, a popup should appear to select the transfert mode. (charge and usb transfert working for me, havent use mtp mode. check my third screenshoot)
@Xmaster24: github is updated constantly, I'm sure ZjemCiKolege is a dev who have fix the wifi on the source... wait for the next build
