We have just launched Smart Unlock app and we need to know if is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S5 because we do not have this device.

Tha app is Smart Unlock and extends dafault smart lock functionality by adding wifi trusted devices, bluetooth or wifi, so usar do not have to wirte the lock pattern or pin each time while they are connected at home´s wifi or car´s bluetooth.

Thanks for testing it. Are you using touchwiz or stock android 5? We need to test under touchwiz mainly. I have been reported that is not working properly on Note 4 and I need to know if this affect also other touchwiz devices. Thanks for your help.

Cool, I wonder why is not working on Note 4 , I have removed availability on google play for Note 4, We will try to fix this soon.
Actually this funtion is built in already. You can find it under Settings->Security->Scroll down all the way->Smart Lock
In native smart lock there is no support for trusted WiFi devices. In smart Unlock yes.
Tested on Android 4.4.2, touchwiz, haven't worked on my G900F (International S5 version) using wifi smart unlock. Not sure about bluetooth.

Hello, can you tell me exactly how to reproduce your issues? I have tested today on Glaxy S5 with no issues under Bluetooth and/or Wifi.

WiFi smart unlock didn't work for me either... tested on Android 5.0 Sprint GS5.

Hello, Thanks for your reply.
When you say "didn´t work", what do you mean exactly? Once you are connected to your wifi and you add the wifi to Trusted devices, you should see in the notification that the devices is "unlocked".
Do you see this notification? Yesterday we solved the issues with sony xperia z2 and z3 and now we would like to focus on samsung series, Thanks for your help.

Correct. And yes I saw "device unlocked" but then, when I pressed the power key to lock my device, then pressed it again to wake the device, I still had to input my pattern password.

Ok, so I can guess now what part of the code is being ignored by S5.
Do you have 4.4.2 stock rom?
And, maybe is a noob question for S5 users, but I´m not samsung owner and I dont know specific samsung software, so any help will be appreciate.
Is there any unlocking tool specific for S5 / note4 devices? For example on Z2 series there is a "Smart Connect" app that has included something similar to smart unlock but native on sony devices, also in Z2 there is a native option for unlocking near some BT devices, that was creating conflicts between our app in sony.
Hope we can solve the issues on S5 and Note 4 because are the only devices with problems using Smart Unlock.

I'm on 5.0 like I said, not 4.4.2. And no, Samsung does not have any feature like that.

Ok sorry, you are right, as you said before you are on android 5.0
I guess we will need a S5 to find a working solution. As I can read in this thread there is 1 user on 4.4.2 and you with android 5.0 and is not working for both of you.
I will try to get an S5 tomorrow, I will keep you informed with a test apk soon. Thanks for your testing time.

Not working for me neither in my SM-G900F using 5.0, the notification appears, but when I lock the screen, I still have to input my password (I'm using fingerprint scanner for unlocking the screen).

Hello!, Can you please try to disable fingerprint scanner and use normal lock pattern? Thanks very much. Its very important for me to know if the mail problem is the fingerprint scanner or something bigger related with samsung roms.

Does anyone know if the Moto E 2015 4G (Surnia) supports the double tap to wake feature? (I've got the UK SIM free version)
I read somewhere that this is a native Lollipop feature if the device supports it, but can't see the option. Does that mean it can't?
The phone is happy to wait for me to say "OK Google" so I don't see why it can't also be on the lookout for a double tap!
I also noticed that the original Moto E had custom kernels that supported this feature. So maybe I need to wait for a kind developer to introduce this feature?

No, but support can be added in custom kernels even on devices with KK. You might have better luck asking a Surnia dev.

I just got a new Chromebook and I was reading about the Smart Lock feature which can only be used with a Lollipop phone, which I don't have. I only have CM 11, and don't want to flash Lollipop yet on it. Is there any way to make Chromebook's Smart Lock work with a KitKat CM ROM?
I've only found about apps that lock your phone when in diferent enviroments or when connected to trusted devices, but don't know i it will work with a Chromebook's smart Lock feature.
Anybody knows a workaround or a port of the Smart Lock Lollippop's version but works on KitKat?.
Am I really wrong to assume that these Smart Lock apps on XDA or Google play will work with a Chromebook?

I have a question about Accessibility Services and Password enhanced encryption in Android N.
I have not installed any of developer previews on my device (Nexus 5X), because I use for my every-day stuff and it is my only device, so I cannot afford any issues.
But I am wondering if it will be mandatory to disable password enhanced encryption in Android N or will new Direct Boot feature take care of that?

I have managed to solve my issue. The soultion is not exactly Android N related, but it do not see why it would not work (it is tested on Android 6).

hi i order this tablet because of low price snap 870 8 speakers 120hz. i have mi 10s with eu rom onboard with bootloader ulk and multilanguages. i already read some post that will probably not be miui eu for this device
i know miui china is easy to install play services and language ( with setedit i can set language for third party apps) but has problem with real time notifications( whats,email...) i tested all possible methods spend lots of hours the only real solution is to flash global/eu rom nothing more.
this device is usable but i ask to devs a possible Global or functional rom or custom rom for this device

Regarding the realtime notifications.
I assume you mean with screen locked?
You need to give permission to the application to allow notifications to wake the lock screen. If not you won't get the notifications at all until you unlock the pad 5 pro. They will just be sitting in the app already delivered and won't alert you.
Each app needs to be given the permission.
Also don't forget to add the applications you want notifications from to accounts and sync.
If not, you won't get notifications.
