For US$80 more, is it worth to trade my Tab S2? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I'm using my Tab S2 WiFi T810 BL unlocked with RRemix.
I'd like to know if it's worth to trade it for $80 more with a Tab S3.
Anyone came from a Tab S2? Are you satisfied?
Thanks

Yes, I came from a Tab S2 2016 and i would do it in a heart beat. Wish I could of gotten that deal..

I came from the tab s2 - busted the s2's screen a few weeks ago. Got the tab s3 last week. I agree with RMXO.
I was on MM on s2 & didn't try RRemix.
What's noticeably better on the s3: performance, fingerprint scanner, screen, battery life, build quality. The s3 is a bit heavier. In my case: price was a negative, but not if you're lucky enough to be able to get it for $80 extra.

Where are you finding this deal?

[Q] coming from transformer

so i am wondering about any known issues with the galaxy tab i had quite a few issues with my transformer light bleed lag, won't charge reboots etc.. so i was wondering if there are any major issues with the transformer at all that anyone has noticed before i actually but my refurbished galaxy tab 10.1 from fry's btw i was wondering if the 1 year warrently with samsung is still valid when i buy a refurb ?
thanks in advance for all of your help and support
You're best to look through the forums and judge for yourself really, but personally I'm much happier with the Samsung than I was with the TF.
I wasn't unhappy with my Transformer, the build quality was fine considering the device cost $100 less than other options. What did it for me though was my real life use experiences, I discovered in situations where I needed a keyboard,I really needed windows apps and was reaching for my laptop instead of the Transformer.
The Galaxy Tab lets me check email, monitor my website on the run, it's camera while not of pro quality is better than that of the TF, the overall lighter, sleeker form factor majes it easier to hold one handed for long periods of time. Galaxy Tab is perfect for use for me on the road covering live events or sitting on my porch reading an e book.
Thanks guys gala,y tab should be hete today fedrx says by 700 I hope its this morning

[Q] Choosing cheap Android Handset

Just wondered if I could have some help deciding incase i have missed anything obvious.
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy 3 (Apollo i59801)...
I thought it would fit the bill and it nearly does I love the quality touch screen its so responsive and the size weight and battery life all fit the bill. But I hate the low resolution screen which makes my eyes ache when browsing the web late at night. Also the camera is pretty much useless.
So I am looking for a low cost set and battery, weight and screen resolution are the main things I am interested in (also for it to be a good phone in that I can hear what people are saying). So far it seems that the Samsung ACE is a high contender...
Are there any obvious handsets I am missing? I know that the HTC Wildfire seems to fit the bill in some ways but the low resolution screen puts me off and also batter life and they aren't actually that cheap..
ZTE Blade is a possibility but battery life and size put me off.. Also the call quality puts me off..
So any I am missing that would be perfect for me?
Many thanks,
Dom.
You bought Samsung galaxy 3? That's not a low cost device. Sony tablets seem to quite popular...though will cost you several hundred dollars.

Samsung Galaxy 3 is very cheap its £80 new?
And its a phone I need not a tablet?
Motorola Defy
Looking into the Motorola Defy now as an alternative to the Samsung ACE ...
I like what I see.. Any ideas guys? Feedback? Good or bad experiences with this phone?
I want ot know if the battery life really is as good as it seems. This and the ACE are in the final showdown.
Ended up going for the Motorola Defy if anyone is in the same situation.
Will post about it when I receive it..
i bought LG C660 for almost 200 $
have a look at the Alcatel OT-990.. have been using it for 2 weeks now, completely satisfying my needs and excellent bugget.

[Q] samsung galaxy nexus or S2?

I currently have a S2, which is having a strange issue, it keeps thinking it is charging when it isn't plugged in.
I have contacted Amazon UK and arranged a return, they have given me the option of replacement of refund.
I'm debating weather I should get a straight replacement or take the refund and order my self the nexus.
The Nexus is £80 more than I paid for the S2, I'm debating weather the higher resolution and slightly bigger screen + nfc + ICS is worth paying £80 for and going from a 8mp down to a 5mp camera?
What does every one else think, any people here who have owned both? which one do you prefer and why?
Thanks in advanced, Mark
I decided to stick with a S2, lack of micro sd card slot on the nexus just and a worse camera was not worth it to me.
I prefer SGS SGS II, because in my opinion better than the Galaxy Nexus,
although it did'nt get full support from google

After playing with the Note 3, I'm even more happy with my Mega!

Still within 14 day return grace period at AT&T and after playing with the Note 3 today, definitely sticking with my Mega.
Note 3 seems like an incremental upgrade compared to the Note 2 and S4 (i.e. Nothing revolutionary).
Mega's screen is larger, brighter, lcd whites are whiter (no yellowish amoled hue) and external speaker is louder.
Furthermore, if one doesn't utilize the s-pen, the Mega is the obvious choice.
I'll further add that I believe that The Mega may be the most under valued and dark horse/sleeper smartphone in the ENTIRE WORLD right now.
I used to believe that specs were the most valuable factor when comparing smartphones. Now, after using a Mega, I realize that REAL Life (aka day to day) usage and performance are the most important factors. I will never judge a smartphone by its specs cover anymore due to the stellar performance of the Mega.
i agree ive only had my mega for a few days and its a ace phone (not the best) but a very good phone
just hope development (kernels ect) start to pick up soon
I did the exact same thing today. Bought an ATT mega a few days ago then went to the ATT store today thinking I'd swap for a note 3. Played around with the note for about 30 minutes and left with a nice new flip case for my Mega.
I've been very surprised at how snappy the mega is. .. It smokes my old Note1 and there just wasn't an appreciable difference between the Mega and the new Note in routine day to day applications.
I don't miss the s pen stuff....I rooted my note and most custom roms didn't have the full s pen functionality anyway.
I switched to mega from note 2 and will definitely stick with it. Nicest phone I had up to date. Battery life is good, screen is much better in a sunlight and the size - nobody can bet that. Note 3 maybe - but the price for unlocked device here in Europe is twice as mega - not worth it. So for now I found my phone!

Bought a Mega last week when I broke my Note 2 while trying to fix the erratic power button. Brought the Note 2 to Samsung repair depot, expecting a $200 repair, or worse. In the meantime I liked the Mega but not sold yet on the huge size.
Today Sammy gave me a warranty replacement Note 2 no charge!!! So now I have both and may or may not keep both. Gotta say I like the size of the Note even though I thought I might prefer the mega.
decisions decisions...luckily I got the mega cheap enough ($430 CAD) that I can prob sell it for the same.

Would you buy Sony tab again

I have a Galaxy tab2 and its a total Turd. Just picked up a Z3v phone and Im beyond happy with it. Are the tablets worth getting ?? I dont really care about development any more, just want a solid performer
I had a galaxy tab 2. This is in a different league. I've had it a year now and no issues. Never had any issues without enough memory or that it's struggled with. Really really fast. Light too and awesome battery life. Very high quality. Check how little the price has dropped since launch compared to samsung tab pro. Shows how good it is!

What model# are you talking about, there seems to be a few versions out there, Also does it take the standard Micro USB for charger
I'd buy another Sony in a heartbeat. I have the following tablets.....Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, LG Pad 8.3, and the Sony Xperia 2. The LG is great when I'm out all day and just want something small...the Note Pro 12.2 is my work horse, and the Sony is the device I go to when the Note is too big and the LG is too small. The Note 10.1 has been officially retired as of this afternoon when I gave it to my mom. All in all, I Sony is not as heavy handed with their UI, and I love the form factor (thinness) of the device.
Again the question is what model to get as there seems to be some variations. What about the changer is it microUsb
I haven't had mine that long but I would buy another one. Hoping to get Z4 when they are released. Also have a Note 10.1 2014, which will be for sale shortly, & a Note 8 which is normally what I take if I leave the house.
I was keen on the Z4 because of the specs and super lightweight!
Then I couldn't wait and bought a Z2 with LTE, including voice phone. (I rarely call d use a headset).
My wife has the original Z and loves it. Never an issue.
The Z2 has the headset port open = no fidgeting with the plastic cap. And the Z2 has a magnetic charging dock, which can be bought for a couple of bucks.
If LTE is important to you, Sony is the choice since they typically have the highest number of bands (frequencies).

If you mean tab 2 model. I had this one It used a stupid Samsung iphone-copy cable for charging. If you mean Z2 tablet, they all have the same processor and RAM. I bought the 32GB wifi version. For £410 a year ago and it's only dropped £10 in a year (if you buy from Amazon). There are three main models. SGP511 (16GB wifi), SGP512 (32GB wifi) and SGP521 (16GB wifi & 4g/LTE). There are some with different model numbers but similar specs if you are buying from foreign countries. Depends where you are from.
The Sony can be charged from micro-usb, but you have to lift up a slot to get to it. I use the magnetic charging contacts on the bottom as they are always exposed. Never had any issues using it with a cheap magnetic charging cable I bought on Ebay. Not the strongest magnets in the world if you want to use the tablet while it's charging, but I don't do that. I tend to charge it overnight. If I did use it when charging I'd buy a magnetic charging dock.
Yeah Im interested in the Sony NOT the Samsung. Im ready to use that Samsung as a wheel chock for my truck

I managed to sell my tab 2 10.1 on ebay for £100 with some accessories a few months ago! It was in perfect condition though and had Samsung case and a Dock and several cables though.
I also went from an Galaxy Tab 2 towards this tablet. I'm not a really big fan of Sony's UI but it's much better then Samsung's.
My next tablet would probably be another Sony (if the bezels are smaller) or a Nexus tablet.
