Changing v10 - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I love my V10 all but speed of the camera (zoom)
I was considered to change it to note 5, p9 plus, s7 edge, 6p.
Have anyone of you guys have one of those phones?
I just want faster camera focus, I know s7 edge is top dog in that category but it's so fragile (and I'm a Note man )

This phone in 2017

I'm interested in buying this phone, but I don't really know if it's worth to buy it in 2017, I also have an option to buy Samsung Galaxy S7 but still, S6 edge looks way cooler, and also looks like it has a better camera. It's also much cheaper but I don't know if should buy this phone, does someone knows if this phone's as fast as S7?
Depends on your definition of better.
Cpu is not faster but they both feel extremely responsive.
I would not buy the s7 due to no IR blaster.
I have 128GB version so i care not for the lack of SD CARD.
Camera is a bit of a tricky one. I only like to take pics in 16:9, the S7 gets its max MP at a 4:3 aspect ratio. Low light is better on S7 but if thatis not important to you then I think the S6 edge 128GB is far superior to the S7 edge as it has more features that s7. Always on screen is irritating as I have had it on a custom rom and found that at night its still distracting while you sleep.

I'll be honest and it's just my opinion but my s6 edge is by far the best phone I have ever got. I would still buy this phone again in a few years time!
To me it feels just as responsive as the s7

Super slow motion quality better on S8?

Hi everyone,
I have just now updated my wifes s8+ to the latest update which got her the super slow motion like on my s9+.
I made a comparasion and to me shock, the video on the s8+ is way better!
The image is a little darker, but it is clean and not pixelated like on my s9, also it does not zoom in automatically like my s9+ does when I enter super slow motion.
This is a great dissapointment for me as a s9+ user, and I hope that it will be fixed in android 9.0 for us as well to be better quality. I also hope that we will get the option like the Note 9 has to record 0.4 seconds of super slow motion and not just 0.2. I remenber Samsung saying that it was a hardware limitation, but it is a lie, because the s9 has the same possibility with the note 9 ported camera app.
Good to see that older phones are getting features of newer phones via software updates, but that makes the difference between s8/s9 even smaller so I hope that the s9 will also get some features of the note 9 and s10.
The super slo-mo is on a slower framerate, hence better camera quality.
The S9+ Super Slo-mo is 960fps whereas the S8+ is at 480fps.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Hands-On

Fellow XDA Members I was fortunate enough to have had some hands on time with the S10 5G, I thought I would share what I found with you so if you are thinking about buying one in the future or waiting for it over the standard S10 Plus, feel free to ask me any questions. I have also created a video about the S10 5G and the link is below but please read my experience with it first, VIDEO LINK HERE: https://youtu.be/dyrG-nAJFvc
Holding it in my hand I realise how big this phone is but it still feels smaller than I thought it would thanks to the hole punch camera design infact I would say it feels very similar in size to my Note 9. In a similar vein to the other S10 models Samsung has chosen to give us an aluminium frame sandwiched between two panes of curved glass with gorilla glass 6 covering the screen. I’m glad they didn’t go with a stainless steel frame otherwise it would be a very heavy device. The back has a stunning new colour that Samsung is calling Titan which has a rainbow shimmer effect but it will also be available in silver and gold.
The screen is stunning, a massive 6.7inches way bigger than the S10 plus but Samsung has also said that it is a wide Quad HD Plus screen with Dynamic Amoled technology and boy does it look good, Samsung are the kings of mobile screens. Hidden in the screen is the all new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which works well and only needs the slightest touch to unlock the phone even when the screen is off.
Running this titan is the Snapdragon 855 the same as the other s10 models, but the difference is Samsung has included the X50 modem chip which gives it that hyper fast 5G connectivity. Of course none of this matters if the battery is not up to par and wisely Samsung has included a 4600 mah power pusher in the S10 5G. Samsung has also included the all new 25W fast wired charging capability which according to Samsung will charge the phone from 0 to 20% in just 10 minutes and to 100% in less than an hour. Just like the S10 plus the 5G has fast wireless charging 2.0 and wireless power share.
It will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage but unfortunately it is not expandable due to lack of room within the phone.
This video wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t talk about the cameras, firstly it is obvious to see the punch hole in the screen is bigger than the one on the standard S10 plus. That is because it now houses the same 10mp f1.9 primary camera and 8mp f2.2 depth sensor but also included is an all new HQVGA 3D depth sensing camera which will be used for advanced AR features and is capable of measuring distances. This same sensor is included in the rear camera cluster alongside the 12mp variable aperture primary lens, the telephoto 12mp f2.4 camera and the ultra wide 16mp f2.2 sensor which gives a 123 degree viewing angle like human eyes.
Like the other s10 models the 5G comes with android 9.0 onboard and all the pie goodness such as night mode, the sleeker ui design, gesture controls and an overall smoother experience. So you are thinking great device I would love to own one, well I have a different opinion, now hear me out , my issue is that I don’t believe it will sell well because Samsung have said it will be released in summer. Now bearing in mind the networks won’t be fully 5 g ready by then coupled with the fact that the 5G Note 10 will be only a couple of months away, I can see consumers waiting for that instead of investing in the S10 5G.
Nice write up my friend, yeah your conclusion is the same as to why I went with the S10+ and I am happy with my choice. I will be getting the note so holding off for the S10+ 5G didn't make sense.
However I think it is indicative as to what the Note 10 will bring and boy is it going to be good....:good:
Good to hear your review! I'm going to enjoy my S10+ for a while and wait for 5G to get established...
i just not sure how I am going to afford the 5G plan in U.S.
So I am fine with Note 9 and s10
Thanks for taking the time to do the write up. I'll be looking to trade up to this once available for sure!!

The Note 10 will be fantastic if the rumours are true, I'm looking forward to it definitely.

Good review

Honor 20 Pro vs Galaxy S10 Snapdragon 855

Hello!
I'm trying to choose between the 2 phones right now. H20P is cheaper, but does not have an OLED screen and I'm not sure about the camera (especially the video quality and the fact that it doesn't support GCam). I currently have a Galaxy A50 and I like everything but the camera.
Are there any comparisons of the actual user experience between the 2 phones? Thanks in advance.
The S10/20p have almost same CPU speed. but S10 have better GPU. however if you are not gamer it's mean nothing.
Honor 20 Pro Camera is much much poor then S10.
(I have HTC U11, S9+, 20P,, In many case 20p photo quality is just poor then U11, it shock me!)
About fingerprint sensor, I like 20p's side sensor more then S10's on-screen sensor.
At least, 20p can't unlook boot loader and can't change default launcher.
If $$$ is not a problem S10 is better,, if think about C/P ratio 20p still a good phone.
I'm not so sure if GalaxyS10 has better camera .. At least at night mode, let's watch this part of XDA video: https://youtu.be/tnz5Pul2Qk8?t=746
For me is Honor20Pro better option, LCD without flickering, no extra rounded edges, 4Ah battery and, IMHO, better camera (f/1.4, 1/2").. and cost is, at least, 100euro lower :]. I"m able to get over QI/reverse charging, audio jack and a little bit wider UW camera.

Is the camera identical to the full fat Samsung Galaxy S10?

Hello everyone
I was wondering if the camera is identical on the S10 Lite model compared to the full fat Samsung Galaxy S10? or if the S10 will still be better?
Thank you.
well i have s10 plus
and wide angle has 16 mp, one of the most important features of the new s10 series
while the new one all 12
also stabilization is better
the only benefit of lite is it is sharper when zooming in, and snapdragon takes slightly sharper pictures
but, the regular s10s are all more expensive than the new ones, so....
i know mp not so important, but manufacturers should at least do 16 to 19 mp cameras,
No, not even close. The camera sensor on S10 Lite is the same as mid range A51 and it has a narrow aperture to boot. I haven't seen any benefits of the super steady OIS that mitigate these shortcomings.

thank you both for your replies but.... completely mixed responses here : S
My pixel 2xl touch ability suddenly stopped.
So decided s10 lite is a good choice for snapdragon 855, screen size, amoled and a good branded price.
I hate the camera on s10 lite.
I mean it should not be called a camera at all.
Omg I hate it so much I am thinking of replacing the lcd of the pixel 2 xl even though it will cost me almost 140 euro.
Dont buy it if the 48 megabytes camera supersteady shot attract you, it's rubbish.

Why don’t you try gcam?
https://gcamhub.com/download-google-camera-7-2-for-samsung-s10-lite-with-astrophotography/
Has anyone tried Gcam for s10 lite? Does it improve quality as expected?
With the S10 series getting some S20 camera features, S10 Lite is not mentioned in the press release.
