I have to disagree, although the lineage os is adequate, it has simple missing features, like the hdr, that I would prefer to have. Such as the "selfie preview" which is pretty cool, and a nicer layout. However, its still the same physical camera so its just tastes and preferences. Plus, the Lineage OS slow-motion is awesome, I don't know if the stock camera has slow motion or not, can't remember.

Stock camera does have these

Stable, featured camera app with HDR

I think that Lollipop custom roms for mi3/mi4 have reached a stable stage. Everything works, even compass, GPS & FM. Mostly all are stable and can be used as daily drivers. The only thing that's missing is a stable, featured camera app, that would use of sensors full potential. On Miui, stock camera app has all that, while on Lollipop we don't have a substitute. Whats you view on this issue and do you think we will ever get a Miui camera app port or any other stable app where HDR, panorama, slow motion and 4k video will work...?
I really hope that a developer fix the camera

What Camera App to use on Lineage?

Hey,
I'm using lineage for over 3 weeks now and I'm very happy with everything except the camera.
I had CM13 Sultan before and the overall picture quality was much better + i managed to get the google camera to work so i had the google camera for snapshots and the "sultan camera" for manual mode.
Now on Lineage things are a bit different. The built in camera isnt great for both, snapshots or manual shots and the picture quality is also not as good. I flashed the OOS 3 camera zip but now HDR doesnt work anymore for me..
What camera App / Librarys do you use to get the most out of your opx with lineage?

Which ROM Camera is the best?

Hey guys,
I'll be traveling next month and need a robust and good camera to click great pictures. It should be stable and should click good pictures with all sorts of focus and everything.
I am currently of RR Rom and the camera is unstable which is the case with almost all Android N ROMs.
So I am wondering whether to switch to lower CM version or flash back to MIUI for the camera to be top notch working.
Thanks in advance
Try latest nitrogen os testing build
It has face beauty, ubi focus (like google lence blur but in new way), chroma flash and many more features

Hey thanks for your response.
How stable is the camera?
It should not give any force closes or can't connect to the camera issues
well, for me one 20170412 rr nougat build the camera is stable but the camera app (believe its snapcamera or snapdragon camera what ever) is awful. highspeed video footage with 60fps does not work in dark conditions. if a working camera with good interface is a must.. i would take xiaomi.eu rom for this reason.

Thanks for your reply.
I'll check the rom out.
If not satisfied then will switch to extreme bloated xiaomi rom

Telephoto Camera in AOSP

One of the first things I did when I got my S9+ was installing LineageOS without thinking much about how it affects camera quality. Google Camera is awesome but zoom is crap for obvious reasons. Now I'm thinking about switching back to touchwiz for the Camera App, Telephoto and variable aperture.
Is there any hope that AOSP 9 (LineageOS 16) ROMs will expose the telephoto lens to apps (and that there will be apps which are capable of using it)? I read that Android P would give apps access to all cameras.

Cam apps comparison

Hi guys
I've seen that many people are interested to get anx camera working. I'm on newest syberia and anx is working.
But I'm wondering why all wanna have this app.
In my comparision anx cam to gcam there's for me a clear winner (you'll see a big difference if you zoom in the pictures) :

I've tested in the same area by night and by day.
Both apps are many time adjusted to get the best result of each app.
May there's someone who uses another app with good pucture quality but for the moment gcam 7.3.018 is my favorite.
Gcam settings attached
I agree with you on photo quality.
However stock cam supports better portrait mode, ultra wide camera video recording, manual mode, pixel peaping, etc...
Gcam focuses on quality of standard features, MIUI camera focuses on widening features. There are times MIUI camera has advantages over Gcam, so having both is a better idea than just to pick one.
