How to install Dolby Atmos on Redmi Note 3 (Kate/Kenzo) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hi all the expert here,
Actually i flashed my redmi note 3 kate with Lineage OS latest rom, i have search through all the web for the way to install dolby atmos into my rom, but all doesnt seem to work. First thing i try is, flash the dolbyatmos.zip with twrp, the application actually appear but there is no effect on the sound (Sorry for my broken english). Second is i try to flash The ARISE Sound mod, followed all the procedure but nothing works...
May i know who have the same ROM as me and also RMN3 kate or kenzo have successfully install the application? Can guide me? Or at least share me a link
Thanks alot and really appreciate for all the reply. (if have )

I you are a Magisk user for root, it's very easy to install Dolby mod with Magisk module
---------- Post added at 10:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:33 AM ----------
After flashing Magisk, go to Magisk manager app → Downloads and select Dolby module. Install, activate and just reboot

Hi, thanks for the reply... I tried this method and this is what i get, already lastest version of magisk

Dolby Atmos Axon 7 Oreo Port

https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-dolby-atmos-axon-7-oreo-port-t3740508
Sadly doesn't work on PNW as of now.
I kept trying every combination of settings to flash this and different builds and either the Dolby app crashes and audio doesn't work (because of the installer not finding a root solution) or it flashes successfully but met with a bootloop. If anyone gets it to work, let me know!
Please raise any issues in the thread linked in the OP, not here. Thanks.

Sorry! It was already an issue I brought up with that port in that thread, I was just letting everyone know the experience from it and that it doesn't work for our phones yet.
Original thread states SDK 26 (Oreo) as a requirement.
The magisk Dolby axon 7 module is working fine on nougat

Can you test this for Oreo, I can't do because my wife's axon 7 needs to run stable on Los 14

Works on my mi a1 with Oreo.
You don't have to download to PC first, just mount system before flashing with twrp.
Thanks, I get work it with last version of PNW and Hellsgate kernel, making a clean install and installing supersu before, with magisk don't work for me.
May you have to use selinux permissive module for magisk.

Supposed to have made backup of kernel before flashing. Did you do?, Then just restore that backup.
I just tried flashing this with magisk and it said it installed, but is there an easy way to actually tell if it worked? I'm just trying to get viper4android to work to hopefully get around the dreadfully quiet headphone volume.

Go to settings, about phone - half way down it has kernal info
There's been some concerns on viper4 on customs roms causing bootloops -
Theres a dolby and a sony audio improvement zip to flash as well - i don't have links but try the telegram groups

Thanks! Looks like it did install, but for some reason, the viper4android driver just won't install. Every time I open the app it keeps having me reinstall it, then when I reboot it just says I need to install it again. I'm wondering if it's specific to honor or the 7x since I can't seem to find anyone who's having similar issues.

It looks like the mate 10 is having the same issues, but after trying my headphones with the new kernel, it looks like the gain isn't limited to a super low volume like it was before! I'm not sure if this is just a placebo effect or if it actually solved the headphone volume issue, but I am hoping that was the fix I needed.
Has anyone tried this on Mate SE?

Have you tried any of the suggestions on the v4a xda thread. Like removing the stock audio overlay (xml) file first.
I keep seeing people say it will not work because selinux, or because of 64 bit drivers, then you go look at the xda thread, and see many (some) people saying it works for them.
If you are having the permissive setting working correct, then tell me if the guide on this link is working?

Any Soundmod for Pie ROMS working?

please comment with Links and Instructions. thank you.
On Oreo V4A and Dolby working but not on Pie. At least not for me ?
V4A works on pie too. After installing it (via magisk) you have to use twrp, mount vendor, and navigate to vendor/lib/soundfx and vendor/lib64/soundfx and rename all the files there by adding something like .old after the .so file extension so the system doesn't recognize them. Users have reported problems after deleting them but with this way everything will work just fine. I'm using it on Los 16 without any problems.

Viper is considered to be the father of all sound mods if you know how to tune it correctly. Dolby is nothing infront of Viper FX (I can confirm as being in music industry for more than 10 years).

Agree, I tried viper plus dolby few days ago when I was using miui global stable 10.0.6.0. It gave me louder sound even with volume 1 only, which is amazing. But there is something to sacrifice, which is the audio quality, especially headset.
No matter how I tune using viper4android, the sound quality still bad as long as dolby is turned on.
Knowing dolby wont work on pie, so I remove it before I dirty flash it. And ya, the sound quality is back and I am happy.

Well, I used to combine Viper+Dolby (only for Surround effect) and the output was amazing. But since Dolby isn't available for Pie as of now, Viper is the only option (probably Ainur Souran works. Didn't try on Pie).
