Also please remove the auto brightness icon in the quick settings as our device does not have an ambient light sensor...

MD
I have update first post with a new link to mega. Hopefully it does work. Enjoy!
New build is up with the new cm12 theme engine. This means that the standard look with lollipop is back. So if you like the dark design, you should stick with 01/15 version. Hopefully they will implement the dark design (which I personally prefer) pretty soon, or a good dark theme is released. Enjoy!

Thanks for the great work. I recently decided that I had enough of stock ROM, didn't use the extra LG features and tablet became a bit sluggish and running out of disk space due to poor filesystem management I guess.
So, after reading about all the bugs with CM12, I installed LiquidSmooth (I remembered how much fun I had with the ROM in my Samsung SIII days). So far ROM is super stable, extra features are amazing, and it just looks pretty. The only thing I noticed is some lag in the animations, but that could be the tablet itself, although, the switch to CM theme engine could mean that this is how they are trying to address that issue.
All in all, I am looking forward to the updates...

Just remembered, when I was doing initial install, I could not get gapps installed. The package was too big and not enough room in the /system apparently. So I found the tiniest package I could find to get me going. Did anyone else have similar problem? Is there a way to increase the partitions during install or at all?
I will test it

That is weird. I use PA gapps micro, which is about 170mb big. And the ROM itself isn't any bigger than other lollipop ROMs out there.
Which package was you trying to install?

I tried regular size one first 400mb something.
Anyway, after a bit of testing noticed that casting doesn't work at all. It works fine from the Chromecast app but from the notification panel. Can't even see my Chromecast. Will try the new build and report back. I hope it's just as stable.

Okey. I don't think that chromecast from notification panel are working on any lollipop builds at the moment. At least not on our g pad.
Yay it boots! ?
Seems to be running fine.
Next build should be faster and overall better performance and battery life. It will be compiled with sabermod 4.8.4.
@slebit: could you add the advanced reboot option under developper ? (reboot/soft reboot/recovery/bootloader).. not sure if it's easy to add this feature...
can't wait for your next built.. keep up the good work!

Thanks for building this, although I have yet to try it.
Is this built on a 4.2.2. base or a 4.4.2, just asking to avoid brightness issues.
Also is it compatible with either of the two available custom kernels, if people wanted to use them...?

This is based on 4.2.2. Some people have problems with brightness if they use 4.4.2 based kernel with 4.2.2. I have actually never had any problems myself. But I guess some people might have.
The two compatible kernels will work, but might have some problems with brightness if you use 4.2.2 base. So if you would like to run one of these kernel, I would suggest that you use 4.4.2 base.

Not a problem! Can easily flash SuperSU myself! I just like to know because if a ROM comes with SuperSU already, I personally don't like to flash SuperSU over it. Just a personal OCD thing I guess.

About Project:
Cardinal-AOSP is a Custom ROM which was initially based on AOSPB, then we changed our mind and rebased it to AOSP-RRO, to get better compatibility with most of the devices, Cardinal is being built with Uber toolchain, with most of uber optimizations, with full Substratum Support and with minimal customization, the main aim of this ROM is to bring stock AOSP experience as possible while maintaining performance, smoothness and good battery backup. I hope that you'll all love this project, and help us, shape it even more better.

I personally use opengapps full, you can try others but I'd stay away from the stock one because it will replace the camera app with the Google camera app that is very much broken the last time I tried.

Have you had any issues with camcorder? Re-based my building environment to another OS(Linux Distro) so should be able to start building again soon but probably won't be until after Halloween? Just figured I'd ask, don't want you to miss out on getting videos of the kiddos.
I have yet to try it . Been loaded down with real world stuff lol but it's raining here so probably have some down time to get back in the groove again . Hopefully your new build environment will be nice to you ?
So this is a great effort on this project. Camcorder working great . I just booted up but thinking this is a very snappy build for potter thanks for sharing
Is anyone using a kernel not included in the ROM? I'm not having any issues at all I'm just curious. I go to bed with 50% battery life still so the ROM is very efficient.

I've been on this for a while with zero issues. If we get security updates this should be very great ROM to stick with.

Agreed. I'm also surprised by not seeing the attention this ROM deserves.
PS: Fingerprint gestures doesn't work on latest build when used with latest custom kernels (Alize in my case)

I have read that's a problem with all ROMs that don't have the updated FP gestures.
I've been waiting for a ROM where it's confirmed that screen casting works. Any way you can test that?

NEVER!
I didn't really notice any bugs, though Magisk doesn't seem to be working properly.
I don't know whether this has anything to do with dotOS, but the CTS profile shows "false" and somehow it isn't possible to install any modules from Magisk Manager due to the error "Process failed", appearing every time.
The thing bothering me most is that the camera doesn't work. It tells me to insert an SD card in order for it to work (I have enough room on my phone and I do have an SD card inserted).
However, everything else works brilliantly.
The Android P theme of the Settings app is also nice.
I just noticed a spelling mistake in settings ("Informations" instead of "Information") and a weird thing about the official devices list (only one device is being displayed).
I have also asked whether OTA works properly and got a reply that it does, but I'm still not entirely sure about it, because when I check for updates, nothing moves (no animation, no new notification that no update is available).
Anyway, thanks a lot again for the ROM! :good:
PS I wasn't able to enclose screenshots as XDA Labs wouldn't let me... I'll send them on my PC if really needed.
There's a new update now. To fix the camera issue and SD card problems OTA won't work due to the date on both is the same. So thinks it's up to date but not
You can download update from here

This seems extremely promising, I've been avoiding oreo for a while now but I think this may be the rom I plan on using, simple question: is this stable enough for me to use it as a daily driver?
How's the rom battery?

I get 5+ hrs screen on time. I get a day or two from last charge! ?
Seems good, I suppose I'll flash on the weekend then!
Oh one more question, does substratum work?

greaat work thanks!!!
Great and very smooth rom.
Can you add the ability to customize the navigation bar in Candyshop?
I personally prefer the back button to be on the right , not on the left ,which is the default pixel position
Thank you.
@op
Can you make Screenshots immediately editable just after you take them ?
Can you also add to the ability to take a screenshot of part of the screen?
Thanks in advance

CandyRoms Device Maintainer Requirements
If you are interested in becoming an "official" Device Maintainer, we have some basic expectations of a DM, but nothing too crazy. We want to avoid "one hit wonders" that come and go just as fast. So be prepared to show us at least a few months of your source code activities, with proper authorship. You should also be able to use Gerrit code review to push and pick/pull changes.
If you are a device maintainer, want to build/support your device on CandyRoms, and can meet our DM requirements please contact the admins here to be considered.
We mostly need to see some history of your activity, how you use Github (and Gerrit), and maintain authorship. User interaction is considered too, as well as bug fixing and timeframes to do so, so a TG channel link where you are active, or an XDA thread you created for unofficial is recommended.
