Mi Pad 2, Magisk and Netflix - Xiaomi Mi Pad Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I correctly installed Magisk on Mi Pad 2 with Miui from Xiaomi.eu, i pass Safetynet check correctly.
Magisk Hide It does not seem to work properly, I can not use applications like Snapchat, Pokémon Go or Netflix (latest version). Anyone know how to help me?
To pass Safetynet check i used this module:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/xiaomi-safetynet-fix-t3600431

I can't even flash recovery on a Mi Pad 2 with a Windows 10 64bit PC. How did you use fastboot to flash the recover? My Windows doesn't recognized Mi Pad 2 when it is under fastboot mode.

Hi Sky3,
i have the solution !!!
You need to instal this file vi10plus-widevine.zip !!!
If you install thin in TWRP -> than you can find Netflix on PlayStore !!!
Befor I must use netflix 4.16 manually installed app.

anyone got widevine L1 working on LineageOS 13.0 (Android 6.0.1)?
If i flash the file or copy the files manual its stuck on "preparing start" on the reboot

Rooting Asus zenfone X00KD [Trouble]

Hi there,
I recently got in my hands an Asus (Mediatek according to system properties) zenfone 4A Max X00KD. It comes with android 7 nougat installed, and fully bloated with usefulness apps.
I've tried to root it (I did it before with other devices with older android os) but this thing comes with a Chinese recovery boot mode which is very limited.
Steps I've already done:
-Usb debugging enabled.
-adb & fastboot tools working.
-Unlocked bootloader.
I've been reading about the SP_Flash_tool and the MTK_droid_tool as well as the ZenFone_Rootkit, but none of them work with android 7. The same happens with apks like kingroot (tried and without success).
Too many people talks about TWRP in order to inject Magisk tools' zip, but there's no version for this phone, and in order to complie I need the source (I think from the zenfone kernel, correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm unable to find it trough the web.
Am I missing something? Is there any way to root an android 7 with a chinese bootloader?
Thanks in advance.
Dear , did you find any solution ? I m facing same. thanks
i am facing the same too

Even repacking bootimage due to magisk 18.1 via aroma installer is not working so i dont get su permissions for delete files from sda5

Is it possible flashing 8.0 if i disable "proof apps via usb" in Developer settings(is this secure download?) ???

[MDZ-16-AB] MI Box TV - Can't enter recovery mode

Hello
I have a problem with MDZ-16-AB
About one year ago I updated soft and I have: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Nf9wBZ5E2tgwoUEX8
Then I wanted to change it but I could not enter to recovery mode (and I still have this problem)
I try with button combination, updated via Mi system and ADB command (ADB REBOOT RECOVERY using this USB M-M cable)
https://photos.app.goo.gl/wyuNhtfnL4gcFvKQ6
And it looks like that (can't enter to recovery mode) -> https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipNHJzd16WZerX_HXqdJC2vnJbYrb5U8N5StL1K9
All the time I have information on main screen:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/fZ1Vmao8QCUZUw1J6
Is there any chance to enter recovery mode and flash other image ???
Despite the lack of ability to log in to recovery mode MI BOX works ok
BTW: Once I downgrade android so I have original bootloader -> file: "backup-256mb.img"
Thank you in advance for any help
Kris
something sounds strange...
"BTW: Once I downgrade android so I have original bootloader -> file: "backup-256mb.img""
When did you do this?......
and where did you get this backup-256mb.img
and how did you flash it?

Hi
When I bought it, it was Nougat 7.0 Beta installed on it. I downgrade to Marshmallow 6 -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...ic/xiaomi-mi-box-mdz-16-ab-downgrade-t3737186
I mentioned about this file because: "That is your lifeline to secure you don’t brick or lose functionality on your Mi Box."
Maybe it helps to fix my Mi box .

Once it is is flashed to Oreo, as shown in your screenshot, it is absolutely impossible to downgrade back to any earlier version.
Maybe you can perform 'full system reset' from settings menu.
Then try to invoke 'system update' from settings menu. If that succeeds you will be on latest Oreo 8.0 stable.
Beyond that, I regret I have forgotten all my many Xiaomi mdz-16-ab bag of tricks....

Red chinese caracters overlay TEE/Google on screen

Hello guys,
I have come many times here to root my phone and I did success, thanks to you.
But now there is a new problem and I did not find any solution, then I will try to explain with my bad english what I did :
At first I tried to flash TWRP (an unofficial one many said it was working) on the phone after unlocking the bootloader, SP flash tool said it was successful.
But it was not, after reboot former recovery was still there, not TWRP (does anyone knows why it did not work ?).
I tried to install Lineage, which bricked my phone. After the debrick, I installed Android 10 GSI, and it worked but impossible to use MTP, Bluetooth or to download with the HTMLViewer (in other words, the system was unusable).
Then I reinstalled the ROM provided by Blackview, and installed Magisk, rooted the phone, also suppressing all the Google stuff it was possible.
And there is the main problem : I think I erased the NVRAM while unbricking the phone and then I have got an overlay of red chinese caracters on the corner of the screen. I tried to replace the original IMEI and MEID successfully with MAUI Meta, but chinese caracters are remaining here.
A screenshot of the ugly writings : https ://ibb.co/bWWp1wr
My phone is a Blackview BV9500 Plus.
Any suggestion about how to remove them ?
Thanks in advance !
I have just tried to replace the BT/Wifi adresses with SN Writer.
The soft said it was a success, but in the system parameters of the phone these adresses were not modified. I wonder why...
I guess these adresses (and/or the serial number, in others words all the parameters of the NVRAM) are the causes of the message. What do you think about that ?
Also, in the official firmware, there are some files for only one choice for the AP and MD databases (what are the correct ones ?).
I think I almost tried everything I am able to do...
Any suggestion or solution ?
Thanks

Hi John, same issue here, but not same process. Phone won't boot so I've restored which made IMEIs being 111111 and 22222. Used MetaModem (successor of AMUI Meta or whatever you used is called) to restore correct IMEIs. But got those red "TEE" and "Google" followed by Chinese chars. Will keep you updated here if I can find a solution.
@John Manjiro
It seem's Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for Android is installed on your phone. It's a secure Operating System (OS) what runs in parallel to Android OS. TEE protects phone from malicious apps installed by the user and potential vulnerabilities that may be discovered in Android.
Did you ever find a solution to this?

Still same issue, got a long email thread with BlackView team which tried to help even tho they seem to not get well my Enlgish. They keep giving me a version of SNWritter where I had to modify some ini file in some tee subfolder. But the exe couldn't launch and was complaining about MVC100.dll missing. I could fix that by downloading from the web a SNWritter tool with working exe. Now I need to find some special screwdriver so that I can remove the battery from the phone. Doing so will keep the phone appearing as MT65XX Preloader in the devices manager and not for only one second...
Just FYI, I gave up and was using it with this **** red overlay.
Last week I was really bored of this overlay so I've installed AOSP 10 GSI. Tho it doesn't pass safety net, and believe me I've tried many way to make it pass. So I cannot use most of my banking apps + no google pay :-(
I even tried with AOSP 9, 10 and 11, as well as LineageOS 15, 17 and 18... unable to pass safety net even with universal safety net fix, magiskhidepropsconf, ...
Hahaha, looks like I just needed to write the previous post and finally got it wokring on PixelExperience Android 10 rooted and passing SafetyNet!!!!
Quick howto if someone is interested:
with SPFlashTools, restore the original ROM
Activate developer mode + USB debug
on the computer, adb reboot bootloader
Download PixelExperience system image and extract it (on linux with unxz) - I've tried many other ROMs with no success. Also while the device is not an A/B, you must download A/B images else they do not work.
fastboot -w && sleep 1 && fastboot flash system path/to/downloaded/system.img && fastboot reboot
Skip everything you can skip at first boot (you can restore later from an online backup or another android phone)
Download MagiskManager apk
adb push path/to/MagiskManager.apk /sdcard/download/
On the phone go in the file manager in download folder and install MagiskManager
copy the boot-signed.img from stock ROM on the device adb push path/to/boot-signed.img /sdcard/download
Open Magisk Manager, install, uncheck the first checkbox (to disable encryption, I forgot the exact label) but keep "recovery mode" checked, then click on next, then second option (patch boot image) and select the boot-signed.img you uploaded on step 10
download on your computed the patched image using adb pull
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot path/to/downloaded/patched-boot-magisk.img
You need to reboot in recovery mode, this is important: press power and volume up until you see the Blackview logo (can take up to 40 seconds)
select "reboot" (first option) in the recovery mode
once rebooted, open magisk manager, activate magisk hide and go in plugins.
install MagiskHideProps Config but do not reboot yet
install SafetyNet fix (download from here, it's not in online modules)
click on reboot
It'll reboot in recovery, that is normal and you MUST boot your device into recovery each time you need to boot/reboot it. Once in recovery, as before select reboot
Once it has rebooted, go in magisk and change in the settings so that the default method is not "prompt" but "grant".
from your computer:
adb shell
su
props
Select device fingerprint, then choose from certified, google, pixel 2, android 10
confirm but do not reboot when asked, simply exit
adb reboot recovery
again, select "reboot system"
Once booted, open Magisk Manager, click SafetyNet, it should pass SafetyNet.
Scroll down notification, and choose "continue device setup"
continue as normal the setup of the bv9500 plus!

Question Poco X3 GT Bricked installing twrp

Hello, after a week waiting for unlocking the phone, i tried to install twrp unnoficial following a guide on the web... now the phone is totally bricked., it dosnt go into recovery mode only fastboot and after 10 seconds it restarts, i have adb installed properly on the pc, it detects my old poco f1 but the x3 gt isnt recognized and reboots after 10 seconds...
have anyone experienced this, or know of a possible solution? i really need help

Just get a new device now
lol i dont want tooo... was thinking bout that

it can only boot into fastboot and recovery... i supose as it has something corrupted it wont boot into the system
Hello! (Read it fully)
I had the same problem, but i finally got it. First download the 12.5.7.0 rom from this page (Fastboot rom)
Xiaomi Poco X3 GT (chopin) Stock Firmware Collections
On this page, we will share all the latest Xiaomi Poco X3 GT (codenamed chopin) firmware flash files. To flash the firmware file, you need Xiaomi Mi Flash
www.getdroidtips.com
Then, go to Mi Flash Tool (also download from that page). The version you need is 20210226
Then unzip the rom as many times as it needs, and copy it (the most decompressed folder) to the desktop. Then, launch Mi Flash tool and install the drivers in drivers page. In the right corner you need to select "Clean all". And.... FLASH!
It solved my problem. I had the same as you. If your computer doesn't recognize your device, stay in fastboot 30 minutes and it will turn off automatically (with usb unplugged) or if it says no digest file found, turning off in 5 seconds turn it off.
I hope this can solve your problem.
Edit: Then update the firmware to 12.5.8.0 OTA way. Don't obey people saying stupidities like "Buy a new one". This is a forum, to help people, and if u don't know the solution, DON'T SAY ANYTHING
Bye

2 things: have you installed the global rom? Try the global. Else, try skipping the logging in and then try it by entering gmail or in settings
