Yep, muniz_ri came through again! Thanks...
Switching between AT&T and U firmware more often than using the phone LOL. It would really suck without full firmware!

is this an official firmware? do i need an official odin?

yes and yes

ok thank you!

Correct

I have tried to use Odin (3.12.3 and 3.12.17) to flash fhese .tar files; however, Odin does not see any files in the folder. Yesterday, I was able to flash an older version of Nougat with a .tar.md5 filename just fine. But it does not see the .tar files at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This doesn't unlock anything. Did you look at the file name to see what "version" they are. Kinda is spelled out in the first 13 or so letters and numbers. Also, these files are for the S7 flat

First comment mentioned "Switching between AT&T and U firmware" so I figured these files had something to do with that switch.

Oh OK. I see where that could be confusing, there meaning the Muniz is working on both, this firmware and the U firmware.

I have an unlocked at&t s7 flat and i want to update with this firmware, my latest firmware is G930AUCU4BQA6, will it re-lock the phone or not?

If you mean sim unlock, the answer is no. Flashing firmware does not lock an unlocked device.

Has anyone tried to root this yet

For those who have used this and 7.0 U firmware, which do they find faster and more stable?

I found them to perform identically.

I'm wondering this as well, since my phone no longer has an active Verizon SIM in it. Was hoping the update would show up in Kies so I could update that way, but it's still showing 4.3 as the latest. I haven't seen anyone post a dump yet that could be flashed with Odin. I assume this will be the "normal" way to do the upgrade aside from OTA?
Me too.....
We need to wait for sammobile.com to upload the firemware (i605VRUFND7). You can register to this website and download the firmware.
You can use ODIN to flash it.
But sammobile.com not yet uploaded the firmware....waiting

The update using Samsung Kies worked great and only took a few minutes. Didn't have to bother with downloads from slow, unofficial sites - just plug in the phone, click update, and wait 5 minutes.

No.....because you will also need to odin stock pk1 onto your at&t phone in download mode before anything will change. After that, whatever features stock pk1 firmware has along with your phone contract is what you will have on your phone. So in the end, probably.
MMB29M. G930AUCS4APK1 is the Latest version we have gotten from AT&T OTA dated Nov. 1 and released Nov. 18, 2016

[help] How can I upgrade kiw-l21c432b160 to android 6

I need to install Android 6, but I can't seem to find a firmware upgrade that matches my version exactly.
What version is safe to use? I'm completely new to the android world, so I'm completely lost…
The closest I've found is a file named "Honor 5X_Firmware_KIW-L21_Android 6.0.1_EMUI 4.0_C432B330CUSTC432D001_Denmark.zip" but according to the PDF included in it I should only be used with versions:
KIW-L21C432B130CUSTC432D005
KIW-L21C432B130CUSTC432D006
KIW-L21C432B140
KIW-L21C432B300CUSTC432D002
Mine is kiw-l21c432b160.
Is it safe to use this one? Do you have any idea where I might find a suitable .zip if not?
Thanks for the help

Yes, now I'm starting to understand all these version numbers. My end goal is to install LineageOS, but I need MM first.
So now, I've switched back to Huawei eRecovery instead of TWRP, and tried two different firmwares (before B360 because apparently it prevents installing LineageOS), that were "validated with my IMEI". Settings>Update>Local>Reboot, installation starts I'm about to cry tears of joy and then around 15%, installation fails with no further details. I can then shutdown and reboot to my good ol' lollipop. Not sure what to do next...

I still have the same lollipop firmware my device was bought with. I don't think I have US variant. I brought it from (Amazon France)[https://www.amazon.fr/Honor-5X-Smar...d=1508409802&sr=8-2&keywords=huawei+honor+5x] and I am in France. The product title says it is unlocked but I had to do it myself.
I'll try your link as soon as I receive my SD card, because apparently it is required for this method. I still have this file from an older download, but was scared because a PDF file included in it mentioned it should be used with B140 and did not mention B160, but now that I've flashed a stock recovery meant for B140, this doesn't scare me anymore.

I have frp off but it's setup. Should i factory reset before trying to flash to u1 or does it not matter? I tried rb7 but it failed. Also i noticed while trying to flash it didn't load ap very well. Normally it freezes for a sec while verifying but it instantly added. Maybe a bad download? I'm downloading rbg now which is an md5 so maybe that was an issue before because the rb7 wasn't. I'll see if that works. Just a lil worried about going to a version 1 bootloader from version 2 as i read that wasn't possible. Hoping for the best. Thanks for the help

Flashing u1 roms aren't working. Tried several times with different cables etc... Odin fail, (auth) complete write fail. I think I'm stuck til this gets a real solution or unlocked rom gets bootloader v2 or becomes unlockable then maybe it'll work? If anyone comes up with a solution please post. Thanks

Oh you on V2 bootloader, well you are stuck on it because U1 is on V1. Currently only T-Mobile and AT&T have V2 firmware out so you can try flashing in between.
Am on U firmware 2ARD3 but am pure stock without carrier bloatware.
What are you trying to achieve with the T-Mobile userdata?

I have the same question as OP. What would I accomplish by flashing the T-Mobile V2 U firmware as opposed to the most recent U1? Is there anything I can't manually enable while staying on unlocked? I don't want to go to the V2 bootloader if I don't have to for the time being, at least until we see an unlocked V2 version.

The U1 is pure stock, I personally would stay on it..
The carrier U firmware are just full of bloatware and also contains the userdata for that specific carrier so that some features work properly like voice over LTE etc. If that doesn't bother you then stay on your version because there isn't any V2 bootloader for the U1 firmware

I definitely want those features, is there a way to enable them while on U1? I don't want bloat, but to my understand T-Mobile's bloat isn't too bad.

Well you can flash the T-Mobile userdata file from the U firmware onto your U1 and get the features. As to the bloatware you can disable most of them with bk package disabler :fingers-crossed:

The userdata from the latest one with the V2 bootloader? And then the U1 RB7?

Well I assume you already running the U1 firmware, so you only need to flash the userdata from the U firmware.
Use the userdata from the V1 firmware for T-Mobile, use modded Odin and flash the userdata and you should have T-Mobile features :good:

I'll give that a try. I might just say the hell with it and go full T-Mobile. I assume the next U1 will be on the V2 bootloader.

Lol the U1 are the last to get updates.
Currently the U firmware is on April patch while the U1 is still on February patch

I'm a T-Mobile post paid with unlimited everything but mainly wifi calling in areas where reception isn't great is pretty important. Also would like direct video, HD vice, and especially VoLte working. Since all the carrier software is in the user data I just want to have the T-Mobile in place of the att. Phone works well otherwise and I can live with it the way it is for a bit til it gets sorted out. But hopefully there will be an unlocked v2 firmware soon that will flash. Or bootloader unlock!

It is compressed in ZIP,
First you have to extract the 4 files.
It is also important not to rename the files.

I do not know what that error is due to,
but the solution is to flash your official firmware and then flash your patched boot.img,
this patched boot.img can not return error since it is the one corresponding to your official firmware.

I tried flashing your boot.img and I get `` device not supported '',
so the boot.img is different for each region and firmware.
What is your region? And firmware, I'll try)

Thank you, and can your patched boot from your firmware if everything gets done, I'll sign you off
Guys, I need help! I got a demo unit a605x. On joys stitched through one official firmware for Russia. Everything went without errors, but when you restart and further installation does not give the modem and the inscription in English, they say, contact the operator. After reading the forum I can not understand what I did wrong? I understood that it was necessary to sew without a file of the CP (responsible for the modem)? And another point, does the process of firmware OEM option lock: on/off? Or he is affected with the unofficial firmware? I didn't change it, maybe that's the problem. What I just did not put the firmware, all by. Maybe there are bright heads here? Thanks in advance!
