ZTE Valet Z665C "Stopped Responding" Errors and Can't Factory Reset - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a horrible ZTE Valet Z665C (Tracfone), which is stock and running Jelly Bean 4.1.1. This is my first dumb, "smart phone" that I have owned, but I have owned a few computers so I should be able to understand anything you want me to try.
I can no longer use the cell because every 2-3 seconds another error message(ex. Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped; OneDrive has stopped; YouTube has stopped etc.) pops up and I can't clear them fast enough to do anything. If I try to uninstall an app that I installed, I get another stop error message, and nothing uninstalls. I tried Safe Mode, but the same thing happens. I have successfully done a factory reset via Recovery in the past, but now, even though it goes through the motions successfully, it doesn't actually factory reset anymore and remove any app I installed, and I still get tons of stop messages.
Is there a way to find a factory "update.zip" for my cell, so I can try to reset it that way? Can I attach the usb cable to my laptop, and somehow uninstall the apps I installed, just in case one is corrupted and causing these problems? If you have any ideas, I'm game to try them.
Thanks in advance.

...Stumped?
Seven days have gone by, and not one reply other then mine, here lol. If my post would get more traffic from experts elsewhere, I hope an admin or moderator can advise me. Thanks in advance.

This is a "Developers" forum, yet not one expert can take the time out of her/his day to offer up any suggestions?

Mods, is this in the wrong sub-forum, and if so, can you move it to the correct spot? I first asked for help in May of 2017 and there still has not been anyone able to suggest anything that may help at all. Thanks in advance.

[Q] ZTE Midnight (Z768G) Boot issues

I rooted this phone and used link2sd to move some apps and free up internal memory. I think I moved the dialer app to sd, and shortly after the phone crashed, and restarting it was stuck in a boot loop. I went into recovery mode and did a factory reset. After doing this, it would make it all the way to the Welcome to Z768G screen. It says "Touch the android to begin" and has two buttons at the bottom, Emergency Dial and Change Language. When I touch the android it seems to react to my touch, but nothing happens. If I push Emergency Dial, an error message pops up that says "The application Setup Wizard(process com.android.setupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. With a Force Close button, pushing it brings me back to the Welcome screen with no change.
I've searched around all day reading through any information I can find on this phone, I believe my best chance would be restoring it in recovery mode via an sd card update. I have not had any luck finding an update.zip that will work with this phone. I thought this was the same phone as the Concord (Z768 I think), but using files for it has not helped me, only results in an error message.
Any advice, tips or a swift kick in the butt to get me going in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
So I contacted customer service. ZTE quickly sent me to straight talk. The poor straight talk guy was even more clueless then I.
I'm at your mercy, I'll continue searching for a solution, if I manage to find anything I'll update this thread in case anyone else runs into this problem.
When all else fails
return it to walmart!
Thanks for those who took the time to read and consider.

I have the Tracfone version of this phone. I used KangoROOT from my PC, which I wouldn't recommend. Kango claimed that the root was a success, yet rootchecker app said unsuccessful. Now I am in the exact same situation as Tuluka. The only option left is to find a update.zip file for THIS specific phone.. Don't get yourself stuck in this bootloop!

[PLEASE HELP] T-Mobile Galaxy S5 Random Reboots, Freezes and Force Closes.

Hello, This is my first Post on XDA so please help me to familiarize myself with rules and procedures and I apologize if I break any in any way.
Okay, So My phone (SM-G900T) is about 5 months old. I bought it in August, Without insurance (Terrible Idea), and now it is having problems. In the amount of time I've had it, I rooted it in mid to late September and used only an app called Xmod for a game. I then started using greenify, solid explorer and eventually used Xposed installer to try a few Xposed modules. Specifically I used, the YouTube adaway, Rich Pandora notification and that's about it. I also later installed Samsung Tools to backup my IMEI and important partitions.
A few days ago my phone randomly rebooted in the middle of a YouTube video so I let it reboot, but it rebooted again, and again, and again. I pulled the battery and turned it back on but the same problem persisted. I couldn't do anything to fix it so I just decided to factory reset the device through the stock recovery. Also, I did not install any custom roms or anything either. The factory reset did nothing. Now when I was in setup, everything force closed, froze and rebooted, repeatedly. So I found the original firmware that my phone came with and flashed it to my phone through Odin because I literally had no hope of what to do anymore. The problem lessened so I didn't install all my apps and overload the device as it would reboot when the RAM would get pretty full or too many things were running simultaneously in the background or foreground. The problem got a little worse so I factory reset one more time and it lessened again but now it came back and factory Resetting isn't lessening the problem. Now it just force closes a bunch of stuff and freezes and reboots into a bootloop midway through initial setup. I am desperate at this point right now and I need help from you guys. I don't have warranty because I rooted and I made the Extremely stupid decision of not getting insurance. So please can anyone help me out? I will be eternally grateful if you can help me turn this $609 brick into a phone again.
I will try to check this thread daily, but I go to school and I may not respond immediately, so please understand.

Do you have SD card installed? If you do try taking it out and leave out or replace with another SdCard. Then flash the original stock firmware as you said you did before through (odin!) Then if that dont work try kias3 and use the emergency firmware recovery tool. Before you do any of this make sure you factory reset through stock recovery if possible.

Have you tried this tool? I had the same issue with my phone and reinstalled firmware and stock recovery through this tool and it stopped. If none of these tips work id say your phone may be borked or have faulty hardware. Take a look here as welll. Hope you can get your phone back to normal. I can understand what you're going through, like i said i had same issue with mine and mine has seems to be fine as of now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721146 . GOOD LUCK

Okay, so I'm resetting it back to stock firmware through Odin as we speak. And yes, I had an SD card and have already taken it out and left it out and reset but still the problem has persisted, I will definitely try the solution you just mentioned, here I go. And thank you for replying...
Edit:
Hold on, which do you want me to try first? kias3(can you please link it if possible) with emergency firmware recovery tool? OR the Unified Android Toolkit?
Also... I don't exactly know how to use the toolkit, can you verify the steps to take to use the toolkit properly if I should use this solution? I'm sorry but I'm not very advanced at Android development, just intermediately experienced I suppose...

Try kies first that dont work try toolkit. Just Google how to use the toolkit it's pretty self explanatory but I don't think you'll need to use the tool kit anyways. http://www.sammobile.com/kies/

okay, I tried resetting it using Kies3 but the device was not recognized so I had to find a different way because the guide on how to use Kies advised using Odin if Kies didn't recognize your phone. I don't have a code either, So I tried reflashing the stock firmware through Odin and it started up, froze and went into what I presume to be a bootloop as it is stuck on the T-Mobile splash screen with the notification light pulsing continuously. Did I also mention where my phone says Knox warranty void 0x1 there is another statement that says "Counter: 4" or something like that, while I am in download mode, does this have any significance? but yeah, other that Kies and Odin, I'm not sure if the android toolkit will help, because it's basically doing that same thing as I am with Odin, just more automated... Or am I wrong?
but as far as I know, that toolkit is literally the last option I have left, I guess I'll be trying that out tomorrow, with option 10 I believe where it says "10. Download, Extract + Flash Stock Firmware via Odin" but I'm not sure what ADB mode means... I can't really boot up the device so I don't know if that applies
Also, on a side note, how much do you think this will cost if I were to send the phone to Samsung and pay for repairs out of pocket, and do you think they could even repair it at all?
You know what... Do you think if I somehow installed CM12 on the device that the problem would fix itself? Because to me it seems like it's the Samsung software itself that is causing all this trouble along with a few Google apps. Now how would I root it and flash CM12 if it won't boot up fully...
Not sure if this would brick my phone either, let me know if it would if I tried to root through Odin and try to install CM12 through CWM recovery or something
Just throwing ideas, hoping this thread doesn't die before my problem is solved
Also, does geeksquad repair Samsung phones one time for a low fee if you've voided warranty?? If so then this could possibly be my final solution.
Also Never EVER buying a Samsung device again, they just aren't what they used to be back in the day, the other OEMs have caught up and left Samsung and their revenue in the dust...

I disagree with this completely. Very few other handsets can hold a candle to the S5 or the Note 4. I don't know of anybody that has the problems you are describing with their phones without a hardware issue of some type or bad app. The Samsung software runs perfectly on millions of devices without the issues you're having. Therefore it's probably a bad app you've gotten a hold of, or you have a bad phone. CM12 will only introduce more issues and probably won't solve anything.
A stripped down custom rom might be a good bet because you can then start adding your apps back to find out where the issue is, or if it still has the same issues then it almost guarantees that there is some kind of a hardware issue.

after rooting phone and message apps disapered

hi everyone this is my first post so I hope I'm doing it right. I have an LG Optimus f3 p659. I rooted it and about 4 days later my phone app and messaging app disappeared. no matter what I do the message phone has stopped working pops up. I press OK and it pops up again faster than I can take my finger away. I can no longer access my phones system information in the about phone section. please keep in mind that im ignorant on codes and such. so if it is possible please keep it simple. if a technical answer has to be done ill delve into it. thank you in advance for your time.

This will wipe the phone though and put it back to like you just bought it. If you absolutely can't bear to reset the phone, you would need to see if you can install a custom recovery and flash the messaging and phone apps into the system.
I'd recommend the restoring option though.
my opinion, you can wipe the phone, or you can check if you unroot the phone again, is the apps come back? if not, you can factory reset it

Verizon LG Lancet Android Setup Wizard Loop

Posted this in another thread and was directed here, so hopefully someone can give me some help!
Finally got around to fixing the screen on my LG Lancet with Verizon (stock OS Lollipop), and it already had a factory reset on it so I figured I would try to root it again. I had success and started doing what I normally do; getting rid of system apps. One of these was the Setup Wizard.
Started getting notices on screen that setup wizard (and other apps I uninstalled) had failed. This made the phone unusable. So I did another factory reset thinking I would just root again without uninstalling system apps this time.
Now I am at setup screen and right as I am about done going through it ( email, language, wifi, etc) it fails and sends me back to beginning. ( I do have access to the swipe down menu from top and can access settings)
Best guess is that I need to flash the stock firmware back on the phone with all the apps that I deleted intact so I can have a working phone again, but I have no idea how to do that. So if I could get some help doing so, that would be great. Or if there is a way for me to bypass the setup wizard that might be the ticket out of this mess.
Hope to hear from somebody soon, thank you. :good:
Anybody? I really would like to get this phone running so if anybody can help me I would appreciate it.
Now the phone I was using broke and I do not have another phone beside this one.
Can somebody please help me? I would really really appreciate it and I figure someone has to know how to reinstall the firm ware on this device.
Since you have access to the notification bar, are you able to get into Settings? If so, you might be able to disable the Setup Wizard through the App Manager. Some VZW phones let you. I can't say on that one for certain.
Doesn't seem like the stock firmware is readily available, unfortunately.

Help! Blu Studio Energy 2 Cleared eMMC by accident...

Hi All,
First apologies if this isn't the right place to post this, but I'm somewhat desperate.
I have a rooted Blu Studio Energy 2 that was running great except for one thing: the Google Play store stopped downloading apps/updates, it would just say "Downloading" but then nothing would happen. So after trying everything I could, I went into Factory Mode and while futzing about I pushed Clear eMMC by accident. I know, I know, I should have checked first, but I thought it was the same as clearing cache. I take full responsibility for my goof.
The phone rebooted, and when it started back up it was as if it was a new phone, asking what language, which wifi network to hook into, and now it is stuck on the Software Update. It just says Checking for updates and there's no option to skip this step.
So here are my questions:
did I brick my phone?
how do I undo this? Can I?
how do I skip the software update step when the phone doesn't respond to anything but the Back button, which takes me to the previous step (selecting wifi network)?
am I doomed?
Thanks in advance, and I realize I am an idiot for doing this without checking first (something I usually do).
Le Big Bump (sorry, I am trawling the web trying to find solutions and there don't seem to be any so any suggestions are very welcome, I really need to fix this)
