Le Max 2 update from 5.9.023S to 5.9.026S failed - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Need your help.
My Le Max 2 is running 5.9.023S stock rom at the moment. Recovery has been changed back to Stock recovery (previously is TWRP).
The Rom update keep prompting for new Stable version 5.9.026S but when I follow OTA update it download, restart to Recovery try to update and Failed with Status "Failed to Update".
I even download the Rom file, change it to update.zip and do manual flash but still failed.
Can you guide on how to update this version?
Thanks a lot.

First flash TWRP back via Fastboot. You can flash the any stock official update 26S use TWRP just flash it normal as other custom rom. Note your current TWRP recovery will be replace by EUI stock recovery so you will have to flash TWRP again after installed 26S by Fastboot/other way.

I have a problem like that and i used TWRP (fastboot boot twrp.img) and flashed 23S again to restore some chinese apps that i removed earlier.
Then i updated without any problem to 26S.

The OTA update verifies the checksum of the modem, bootanimation, boot.img and so on. So, if you altered/replaced some of these, the updater script fails. Flashing the entire 23S from scratch obviously put all the correct files in the right place.

Where do you find the official 5.9.026S?
My phone is running on 5.9.023S and tells me its up to date.
Also on the Leeco homepage is the lastest 23S.........

I need some help also
My phone x829 arrived with 16s
I swapped some custom ROMs with twrp and at the end I finally installed the official 20s and I choosed to replace twrp with custom recovery
The problem is almost 2 months now and I don't have any message for ota update for 23 or 26s
What can I do?
Thanks in advance

16s is the last available rom for x829. To see updates coming, you must firstly flash a chinese rom

That's what I m saying
I have flashed and installed the 20s this is the Chinese rom,but since then I have no ota,2 months and no ota

You are right. I try to flash it back twice and now able to update to 26S. it works fine now. Thanks a lot.

Discussion: OTA vs Full ROM

Just wanted to post my experience with the recent ota.
Yesterday I received Ota notification for 8.1.2.0 on Global stable mi5
The setup of my mi5 was global stable 8.0.5.0 with systemless supersu n suhide + official twrp
It failed to install couple of times. I tried to open to open the Ota zip, but it was encrypted.
Offical twrp couldn't flash it.
So googled for twrp with miui Ota support.
I found zcx twrp for mi5. It has the feature that supports reboot from updater app to flash Ota.
It failed again but now I can see the failure log in twrp. It was boot size mismatch.
Aah! Xiaomi now checking boot also while flashing Ota.
Left the whole Ota business and downloaded the full ROM and checked it's update script, no checks there! Cool.
Flashed it in twrp, peace of mind.
Whole thing done in 10 mins.
Rooted back again.
Suggestion: don't use incremental Ota unless you have nothing touched in the phone. Better go for full ROM.
But not everybody can afford to download full ROM.
Does anybody know how to decrypt Ota zip? Then atleast I can modify the update script to make it work

Requisites for Official OTA

Hi friends.
I have a doubt about what is needed for a correct OTA installation in official ROM.
For example, I was in 20s, fresh install, no root, and with twrp then an update appeared for OTA, the 23s, I did it from the update icon, it was about 1.8GB, even with the TWRP, it was installed normally, the TWRP was replaced by stock recovery. I flashed the TWRP again, and flash SuperSU too.
When I was in 23s, an update prompt appeared, the 26s, I did it by the update icon, it was about 500MB, after it downloaded and went for install it booted on TWRP but nothing happened, so I flashed stock recovery, and did the procedure again, it said installation failed.
So I don't know what I am missing? Do I need a special recovery, do I have to be unroot?
Thanks for your help.

I mean flash just recovery from this toolbox after 26s. It's ALL-IN-ONE TOOLBOX.
You don't need special recovery. You need stock recovery for official OTA update which is 26s. If you try to update official ota with twrp nothing will happen.
by the way how did you get OTA even after root?

When I was in 20s CN I was without root, just fresh install, so I did OTA to 23s, then I rooted. Now I can't do the OTA by the update app, I think it is because of the root.
OTA because of root? Strange!? it was booting in twrp?while flashing 26s

Sorry I missed a negation of "can"
Well. I unrooted, and the same problem EUI Update Failed Cause: Installation Failed.
I did many tests, but was not succesfull.
Anyway, I restored my 20s CN version, and then the OTA prompt for 26 appeared, when I was in 23s the OTA for 26s was about 500MB, now from 20s to 26s it was around 1.8Gb, and worked. Now i have the 26s CN.

You can only update full ota updates via TWRP delta ota can't be flashed via twrp that's why 500 MB 26S failed via twrp ( 1.8GB is full update, if you skip any delta ota next time you'll receive full ota update), so if you want to update delta ota you have to install stock recovery and most times you need a factory reset or complete wipe.
The strange is that I was on stock recovery pm 23s, evento like that the OTA oficina 500MB didnt work.
Hi,
same problem here.
TWRP was recovery. My solution:
First I replaced TWRP with stock recovery ("hxxp://xxx.leeco.re/topic/1942-updatedofficial-stock-recovery-lemax2_x820_x822-enus" (I'm not allowed to use links as new user...)) but TWRP was still there as "app". So I flashed s23 (with file manager, named as "update") again. Here it works.
Then I flashed the update.

Updating MIUI Global Dev ROM with root

I have the MIUI Global Developer ROM installed, and I've also flashed the Disable-Dmverity and Magisk v19. As I have TWRP instead of the stock recovery, I cannot update the ROM through the updater, as it will go into TWRP and reboot at the splash screen, without the update being carried out. If I flash back the original boot.img (I did flash the original recovery.img, but it still doesn't work), will I lose Magisk root? Otherwise, I'd have to download the ROM zip every time a new version comes out and flash it with TWRP, which isn't a problem for me, but I like the convenience of the updater

Hi so recently today I was able to successfully flash my stock ROM from Global 11.0.3 to Europe 11.2 (20.3.5).
All works, I have a new and version specific TWRP recovery which solves the decryption issue and such.
Only problem though is I can't seem to update my ROM from the latest Europe 11.2 (20.3.12). I am aware that we cannot install OTA updates like we normally would because we are on a custom recovery. I tried flashing it from the 'choose update package' where it brought me to the TWRP and executed OpenScript to flash, and also tried flashing from TWRP itself. No luck. Bootloop into Redmi Logo and TWRP recovery, so I end up restoring the working Eu version.
An updated tutorial on how to install OTA roms on custom recoveries would really be appreciated, thanks!
Hey OP, could you make a How to install GSI guide?... I'm really interested on doing that.

you have to flash https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip and then update the OTA..dont forget that we normally use a custom rom with TWRP, no point of having twrp with stock rom??? try xiaomi.eu , its way better and you dont have any problems with updates.

Hello, you are lost mate...
You use Xiaomi.eu ROM, it's a custom MIUI ROM (Not Official ROM).
You can install updates given by Updater app (System app) without issue on this ROM.
If your phone bootloop just after a ROM update, and not after flashing Magisk, it can be because of a bad encryption from "bad" TWRP (so you need to "Format Data" in new TWRP <-- installed by xiaomi.eu ROM)
-OR-
Did you use my K20 to Mi 9T conversion patch (from xiaomi.eu forum)?
Check for update with Updater app, download and install it. That's simple on xiaomi.eu ROMs.
Trying to install evolution X on my Mi 9T but whenever I flash TWRP the phone won't boot to it, just keeps loading the fastboot screen. Anyone have any ideas where I'm going wrong? I've reflashed stock with miflash for now to get it working.

I have the same problem, but I can't find a solution. Did you find it ?
I found the solution with explication on how to install havoc_OS
after format data you have to reboot to recovery, flash firmware +rom+gapps...without firmware it wont boot on some roms..read well OP instructions, mine are only for xiaomi.eu, you dont need to flash firmware and it will boot fine.

Flash Miui Ota without stock recovery

Hello,
I'm on Joyeuse device with MIUI V12.0.1.0.QJZEUXM.
Twrp used: TWRP 3.5.0_10-0 for Joyeuse build by dungphp
Rooted with magisk.
I get few weeks ago OTA update for MIUI V12.0.2.0.QJZEUXM, downloaded it to /sdcard/downloaded_rom, when I try to install it through MIUI settings, my device reboot to TWRP, I put my pattern to decrypt datas and I get "Error installing zip file '@/cache/recovery/block.map".
So, how can I install this update ?
Can I go in TWRP, and flash this zip ?
I don't want to reinstall all of my apps if this process broke official rom.
Thanks for your help.
