A nice modified popup notification - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello, i have modified a version of popup notifier that automatically display a popup for any 3rd party notification.
Credits goes to nlucas the developer of the main app.
Once installed, please select the "android theme" to get the color combinations that i've made.
Lightweight, not consuming battery and ram at all.
Enjoy... :d:d

[APP] QuickDesk

Something really cool just hit the Android Market.
QuickDesk is a fusion of a task switcher and a home screen that is compatible with your current launcher. When you double tap the home button you are greeted with a separate home screen that is transparent and does not interfere with your currently running application.
It fully supports widgets and has a transparent background. It also has what it calls the Quick Panel that lists the currently running apps along with a count of their notifications.
It seems to work a lot better when you change the preferences to forcibly keep it in memory (nice to have a nice phone with ample extra ram like ours).
Can't provide a direct link because I'm posting from my phone, just search for it on the market. Enjoy

[OFFICIAL BUG] NullPointerException in EVERY Froyo release!!

I have found a very nasty bug in the file RingtonePickerActivity.java, but I don't know how to fix it.
The problem:
some applications that let you choose a ringtone FAIL to show the ringtone picker. An example is Gmail Label Notifier and Metal Detector (by Kurt Radwanski).
Description:
when you choose the option to select a ringtone in some applications, a force close is shown, but depending on which build you use, it even REBOOTS Android.
Steps to reproduce:
dince Gmail Label Notifier is a paid app, I will show you the steps for Metal Detector:
Install the app, run it.
When the main screen appears, press the menu button
Choose Settings
Check "Play sound?"
Then press "Change sound..."
a FORCE CLOSE or REBOOT will hit your device.
More info:
Eclair builds were working perfectly.
Now that the source has been released, I'm sure it will be easy to fix.

[Share] Xposed Modules you use

Hello fellow Xperia SP users!
I'm starting this thread so that we can inform each other of cool/useful Xposed modules that we use... and perhaps give each other some input on the proper usage of each module, or whether the module has been superseded by another, or...
Well, you get the general idea.
So, let me start by listing my modules and my reason for installing each:
Android Phone Vibrator -- mainly to make the phone vibrate when outgoing call is connected. Thus, I don't have to keep holding the phone against my ears while waiting for the destination to pick up the phone.
App Settings -- mainly to selectively allow automatic screen rotation for some apps.
BootManager -- to disable some apps from starting automatically on boot
Burnt Toast -- cosmetic addition; I like seeing the icon of the app that generates the toast
Complete Action Plus -- mainly to get the GB-style "tap to choose the app, check 'Always' to make it permanent" pop-up. It has an additional feature of being able to 'hide' apps I don't ever want to share with, and even sort the list.
ExpandableVolume -- adds a button on the volume 'toast', to allow setting of all settable volumes quickly
Greenify -- part of the Greenify Donation app
Performance Profile -- allows setting maxfreq/minfreq per app; thus apps that seem to drain my battery when being open, usually get their maxfreq lowered to 1.2 GHz (or lower) to help reduce battery usage
ReceiverStop -- to disable some apps from starting automatically on certain events
Ringer & Notification Volume Unlink in ICS/JB -- as the title says
SPDY -- this is a backport of KitKat's OkHttp module to ICS/JB. Not sure if it's effective, but doesn't hurt so far...
Swap Volume Keys -- when landscape, the Vol Up & Vol Down keys are swapped to make them more intuitive
SystemUI Patcher -- mainly to make the status bar transparent on the home screen ... see this thread for more info.
Tinted Status Bar -- to make the status bar auto-adapt to the app. It's a hit-and-miss situation, currently, but it makes my status bar less boring, so I'm keeping it. For now
Whatsapp Quiet Hours -- forces Whatsapp to be quiet during my sleep
XHaloFloatingWindow -- enables 'halo' floating window, similar to ParanoidAndroid
Xperia™ Xposed -- mods a lot of Xperia's SystemUI elements, bundled by eXistenZ Ultra
That's mine. What's yours?
I am currently using
tinted status bar: for make xperia more beautiful
App settings: Fixing memory management, works great with greenify, i Keep xperia home, music player and Chrome resident when I am using it, no force closes, When not using just greenify.
I am actually using :
- Gravity Box for the customisation
-xhaloFloatingWindow for the windows too
-Adaway to hide ads
-Greenify to stop some apps.
-SmoothProgressBar
-Swap Volume keys
Envoyé de mon C5303 en utilisant Tapatalk
What I'm using:
-ActivityForceNewTask: the name says it. I use it because I can close Quickpic and MXPlayer from the task switcher after opening a picture or video from a file browser.
-App Settings: change basic settings per app, like: change permissions, make it stay in memory, change the language of the app, change dpi, etc.
-Alternate App Picker: ICS and below-like default app choser.
-Burnt Toast: show app icon in toast notification.
-GravityBox: it provides a lot of customizations, very useful
-KitKat Toast Backport: KitKat-like toast notifications
-XBatteryThemer: Change the look of the battery icon on the statusbar
-Xperia MultiMiniapps: launch multiple miniapps on stock 4.1 (stock 4.3 has this feature by default)
-Xposed Preference Injector: Inject Xposed module preferences into Settings app

Not really, xposed modules modyfying files only
s is what i am using
Hey guys, these are the xposed modules i am using with reasons -
1) Xperia Xposed- it gives me many customization options, my settings are -
1. Navigation bar height - 42dp which belive me is perfect for this phone, 36dp is too small
2. Media settings which give me the option to switch tracks with volume button and turn it off with camera button
3. Power menu outings which give me more power menu options and i am using forced light theme which makes the power menu look colourful and beautiful
2) gem Xperia xposed- guys this is the most important module for any Xperia user as it give you the option to apply gradient per status and navigation bars, i personally don't like Corris home launcher and therefore i use translucent gradient to make my bars translucent
3) boot manager - i think it's purpose is very clear to all
4)YouTube adaway - this is a great module which makes it possible to remove the annoying YouTube ads at the starting of videos
5) [xad] - this is another great module that helps you to stop the annoying ads that are out up in many free apps to annoy us. -_-
6) Xperia dialer mods - this module helps us to record calls
7) android phone vibrator- it held to know if an outgoing call had been picked up by the reciever by giving a small vibration and many other useful features too

Camera Flash for Notifications

I know some miss having a notification LED. I went looking for an app to use the camera's flash for notifications. The first several which I tried would not work on the Nokia 8, but I finally found one which does. If I find others that do work, I'll add them to this post.
"Flash Notification for All App." It sadly does have advertisements inside the app. You must set your flash type to "2" in the settings. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manzy.flashnotification&rdid=com.manzy.flashnotification

Thank you, this was of great help! I really miss the LED notification. I think it is a shame that HMD has chosen to omit such a useful function on a flagship telephone as Nokia 8. The only solution is to use the flash LED on the back or the screen. However, to get notifications to work reliable, I found that you need to disable Battery Optimization for the notification app. Otherwise it will not work in sleep mode for some apps.
1. Go into Settings/Battery
2. Push the settings menu (the three blue dots at the top right corner) and choose "Battery Optimization".
3. In the blue drop down menu choose "All Apps"
4. Scroll down and disable battery optimization for "Flash Notification 2"
In the "Flash Notification 2" application you can choose exactly how fast and how many times the flash LED will flash. You can also set the repetition interval and repetition period. You can also choose between to use the flash LED or the screen backlightning or both. And to get rid of the ads is not expensive. The only drawback with the method is that it increases power consumption of the phone.

*** Disclaimer
This App uses root privileges to modify system files improper use can lead to serious damage
so use it at your own risk
Download from the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=terminal_heat_sink.asusrogphone2rgb
Introduction
This app allows you to control the logo rgb and the second led on custom roms since at the moment there is no option for that in the custom roms themselves.
Latest release works on stock now also
This also works on rog 3 with the latest release however at the moment the second led cannot be lit on its own, the logo led must also be on to use second led
Supports triggering logo led, second led on notifications for selected apps.
Only works on android 10 roms as for some reason the android 9 rgb driver doesn't react to changes, therefore it is probably not possible to make it work on android 9 using current methods.
If using stock rom please turn off default lighting on armoury crate so it doesn't conflict.

Notification update. You can set animations to trigger on notifications, Animation stop when notification is cleared.
You can read more about it here https://github.com/ArtiomSu/Asus-ROG-Phone-2-RGB/blob/master/README.md#notifications
This is a beta release so code is on this branch https://github.com/ArtiomSu/Asus-ROG-Phone-2-RGB/tree/notifications
Thanks and Enjoy
3.2-beta-second_led update.
So now it is possible to use the second led designed for those custom cases. You can use the second led for notifications too.
The "enable second led" switch above "Notification settings" switch enables the second led for any animations selected above. This doesnt have any impact on using the second led for notifications.
For notifications you now have the following options relating to the second led.
1. "use second led for notifications also" This lights up the second led and the logo led when a notification comes in.
2. "Use Only the second led for notifications" This lights up only the second led.
3. If you have both 1 and 2 disabled then only the logo led will light up.
Also if you want any apps to be added to the blacklist ( so not trigger any notifications ) can you please reply with the package name. In a later release I will try to make like a view where you can select which apps you want to have notifications triggered for, but for now I will use a blacklist to ignore some apps such as OpenVpn and stuff like hotspot etc..
Thanks and Enjoy
3.3-beta-app-select update.
Made a view where you can select which apps you want to have notifications triggered for. This eliminated the need for a blacklist featured in the previous release.
So now you have a list of all the apps on your phone and you can select which ones you want to react to the notification.
Ui tweaked a little bit to make it less confusing.
New images uploaded to reflect the current release.
Thanks and Enjoy
i'm on android 9 stock and it says error in parsing package
Tested on a9 but the driver doesn't seem to react to changes. So at the moment I don't think it's possible to get it working on a9 at least the way I'm doing it.
that's a bummer. but thanks for trying
Works 100% on stock rom A10. Thank you soooo much! I can finally use the second led with the logo!
It does work but the app is really not user friendly at all.
The work you have done was really needed but please make it easier to use if possible.
There are so many options but most of them dont work. I turn on from the app and it doesnt work.
The ai turn off from app but turn on from armory crate and it works!!
Then I enabled notification light and chose a color from the circle but the light is still on rainbow and doesnt blink for notification...
I just dont understand the different options.
Edit: I tried and messed a little with the options and figured it out. But I think there is an interference with the armory crate. It has to be on otherwise the app wont work
Question: can we turn off the main LED (rog) and just have the second LED?
The option that says "just use second LED" doesnt work.

You need to select which apps you want to react to notifications.
I agree the ui needs an overhaul but all the features do work on latest havoc os atleast. At the moment I'm working on adding functionality so not messing with ui that much.
I will make a better ui when all the features I want are implemented. This will be after custom animations and setting a different animation for each app in regards to notifications. Next stable release will have a better ui so keep an eye out for version 4.0 ish.
The app is open source so anyone is free to fork the repo and send me a pull requests
Again this isn't really ment to be used on stock since the built in armour crate does the same thing and does it better.
Thanks for testing ?

Yep make sure the power button in the app is off and click on enable second led then change effects. The power button is only there to toggle the logo rgb as that is how it is treated within the driver. So second led and logo are exclusive to each other and each has its own on and off switch within the driver.
Just use second LED switch is only for notifications. It will only use the second led with the selected animation when a notification from a selected app comes in.
Update for release 7.
It allows you to choose a time between 20 seconds and 9 hours, this will determine the maximum time it takes before the leds are turned off provided the notification is not cleared.
This is handy if you leave the notification option on all the time, you can get a notification during the night for example and the leds will be blinking for the whole night, decreasing your battery by a bit.
However with notification timeout enabled you can set it so the leds stop after say 20 minutes of not clearing them.
You can read more about it here https://github.com/ArtiomSu/Asus-ROG-Phone-2-RGB/blob/master/README.md#notification-timeout
UI updated, now second led power toggle is beside the logo led power toggle at the bottom right of the screen.
New UI can be seen here https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=40875#screenshots
Release can be downloaded here https://github.com/ArtiomSu/Asus-ROG-Phone-2-RGB/releases/tag/7
Thanks and have fun
Update for release 8 (3.5-quick-tile)
Added two quick tiles for toggling the logo led and second led. Apparently adding custom quick tiles is ridiculously easy in android, if I knew that I would have added these a while ago lol.
They are a bit slow to update sometimes lol but they should be in-sync with the app buttons since they read and write to the same shared preferences.
apk https://github.com/ArtiomSu/Asus-ROG-Phone-2-RGB/releases/tag/8
Thanks and Enjoy.
update for release 9
Allowed more scrolling in the three tabs. This is because if your have your phones display scale set to normal or higher the power buttons will get in the way of notification timeout settings, now you can scroll down a bit so they wont be in the way lol.
Small ui update cause I found out you can set icons as the thumb for the switches so I set the asus rog logo and it looks sick.
Added some easter eggs in the app see if you can find all 3.

Update for release 10.
This is a fairly small update that lets you search for apps in app select view.
App select ui was updated to use some rog logos instead of default android check boxes.
Thats about it lol.
Here is the apk https://github.com/ArtiomSu/Asus-ROG-Phone-2-RGB/releases/tag/10

Using latest stable version (stock rom android 10) everything works, just a suggestion can you add music visualizer and custom light colour on notification? Thanks for the work! Nice Easter egg btw haha

I'm working on different animations for each app. So in the app select view you will be able to choose a different animation for each app. So if you pick one of the animations in the notificationsettings that uses a single colour instead of the rainbow you will be able to choose a colour for it.
Music visualiser would be really cool. Hopefully android has some easy way of monitoring sound lol otherwise it would be quite difficult. I'll give it a go after I get the other thing done.
Btw if you want to use a custom colour for all notifications you actually can right now. Select one of the animations that uses a single colour like blink in the notification settings and then choose a colour from the colour wheel tab.
Update for release 11 (3.8-per-app-animations)
Now you can select animations / colours per app.
Click on the app icon in the app select view. And you can set whatever animation and colour you want for that app's notifications.
