Good work bro you are awesome if you can builid roms ?

Why did you run Lineage OS only for a variant of J7 2015? If this ROM does not work on other variants such as J700M and J700F, please put a warning, this will save several J7 bootloops

Well it says the damn model number of our version and you guys have a thread for your phone. No need of warning, just look.

Does this really work? Just so I'm correct, this is for the SM-j700p, I'm using that on boost mobile. I have that same j7 update so I will go ahead if this is real and try it out.
edit**
also how can I find out if I'm using your version of TWRP? I'm pretty sure I might be, but how can I know for sure?
& could you advise which GAPS to download?

In the post title, it says "J700P". I'll make it even more clear in order to prevent this.

This build here "works", but soon, after I get all of these bug squashed, there is going to be a build with everything working. And yes, this is for the J700P. I'm not entirely sure how you can tell if you're using my TWRP. If you aren't sure, reflash my TWRP.

any idea of the hugs involved? Could you create a rough list of bugs you have noticed. Also if you don't mind, do you know where I can get the stock room/other files so I can revert back to default. This is my main phone so I need to make sure I have what I need to make it operable again, just in case it becomes inoperable.
*Edit* also if you wouldnt mind showing me how to use logcat and whatever else I will need to properly test and help isolate things.

A new build of LineageOS 14.1 is here! With it, are many changes.
Changelog

Wow. That's amazing. It is a somewhat major issue, but at least it's only one main issue to tackle. I'll definitely make this my daily driver once that gets fixed. Thank you for the great work you do!

That's very interesting. I always wanted to try a stock or rather google inspired rom in my Note but was never given the chance. Your download links are down though, overloading my anticipation
edit: You write "all variants download here". Do you mean that you support both P600, P601 and P605?

My server is currently down. I have the file locally, I am in the process of uploading to a temporary mirror as I type this.
This is ONLY for P605/P607T variants, I have updated the OP with a full list of the supported models.

Cool stuff just got back with mine installed twrp through odin and used SuperSU zip to root. Just downloaded and about to flash. Wanted to get a preloaded recovery first with all my normal apps. Thanks for the Rom look forward to it!
Everything is up and running. I had issues getting SuperSu - ended up having to reflash that through TWRP. The only thing i have noticed so far is the inability to take screenshots. I might be missing something - but i believe the only way was to hold down the button and touch the screen. Once i finish setting up i will check if the phone is even responding to spen button
Came across an interesting error couldn't use hangouts dialer to video call. Grant it I didn't test it on stock it worked on the tab 4 I had its not a necessity I was just trying to break things lol
Screenshot is volume down + power
Screen record is volume up + power
I know about the hangouts problem. Also I know that headphones don't work. I will fix it next chance I get. My professors are laying the papers and assignments on hard this past week (its the same thing I had to do for the note 3)
Also if you read the OP 2nd post you would see that I specifically stated that Omni does NOT include root or su binary by default.
Some good info:
A great tool for this is the app Syslog from the play store. If you have a bug, simply open the app and select the type of logs to collect. Just keep in mind that the logs must be collected after the bug and before a reboot (unless you're getting logs for a random reboot, in which case you would collect a last_kmsg). This app makes collecting logs as easy as its ever been :good:

Ah, I see. For Omni, SuperSU was integrated into Settings if it's installed, there won't be an icon in the app drawer.
Tap Build Number a few times to enable Developer Options and you should see SuperSU above About Phone in settings :good:

Dont use ART. Its not supported by Google and therefore isn't support by Omni, and therefore not by me either. CM has hacked up some stuff to make ART work but Omni isn't doing that.
Best results will be with dalvik and stock kernel
I've been using it on campus for the past few days to take notes during class and write papers and haven't had any issues.
I just saw that you uploaded an update. Could you provide a changelog, since the changelog page shows an error (Error: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)) ?
I know now why, because it doesn't boot atleast for me.

P600 is the QUALCOMM wifi-only variant, correct? If it is QUALCOMM then I can certainly look into it. Shouldn't be much more difficult than just removing the telephony and ril stuff
If it is Exynos there is no way.
The p600 is exynos but but I do know that many p605 roms work flawlessly on the p600... could u please try to support the p600
Thank so much for trying to help

Great rom @minz1 , you are an outstanding asset to the community with your dedication to your work on all of these devices. Hopefully the remaining bugs you've listed will be sorted and ironed out and it's no biggie to get it to stable status.
To keep you guys posted, Camera will be fixed today or tomorrow, and Audio will follow soon afterwards. Then, I'll try to fix GPS, and finally, RIL. After all of this, I'll work on Lineage-15.0

I'm pretty sure thats covered by the "RIL" bug he listed, as far as I'm aware that means Radio Interface Layer, so when he fixes the RIL bug the SIM and calls and telephony messaging, all that will work.

Reporting Bugs:
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed.
Grab a logcat right when the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Alpha 2
Welp, here's the update:
As this was Oreo, I couldn't continue on slebit's thread. Validus and Tesla (Nougat builds) development will stay on that thread.
All the upcoming Oreo builds will be posted on this thread.
After a lot of research and going through dozens of device tree's, I made some progress.
ALPHA 2 Build
SIM Card detects now and data is working.
I couldn't test VoLTE, and frankly it's not a priority right now.
The phone can vibrate now and it doesn't seem to stutter or lag much.
Camera, Bluetooth and Sensors are still the major things that are not working.
If you want to try the ROM, then please do check whether the things I have mentioned 'working' are also working for your device. If you find anything new that's not working then mention below (possibly with a logcat please).
Update: GPS is working too, got a 3D Fix (accuracy ~30feet) in a minute.
Nice
Yes ! Finally.
Hello Downloaded now. Gonna Try. thanks for making it possible for our Clark. Cheers!!!!
First i want to thanks antariksh for making this rom .
I'm using it at the moment. Until now the only issue i found was the not working hotspot WiFi. I try to attach a logcat asap. Camera doesn't work, but the front camera works well using open camera.
Edit: @antariksh Should i attach the entire log? Or a part of it?
Awesome! Wish I could test it, but need a daily driver and I know this isn't quite there yet

Hello Bro
Everything works except camera and bluetooth i tried even playing audio files it worked. If you can fix Camera it can be used as daily driver without issues. Great going.

Ok, i took the log with adb logcat -v long > name.txt command. This was the first log i got .
So, please tell me if i do it right.
Anyway, ROM was really smooth and stable for an alpha build. Can't wait for next build  .
Thanks :good: .

Ops, sorry bro didn't know . Hope this one goes well.
Thanks for putting this together, GZR is my favorite! Cant wait to get my Moto X Pure!
Looks like I got a situation. While I am setting PIN code on Oreo , the Setting panel just stop. When I try to use PIN to unlock , the tip is always "Wrong PIN code".
@Monstorix Strange, I never had this issue. Do you set the unlock method during initial installation? Or after?
Thanks again. Soon I'll be able to test the rom too, just need to backup my stuff.

Don't know. I can change unlock method without any issue.
You can try to do a clean installation again.
If issue is still there, you should provide a logcat.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
This thread is for Official LineageOS 14.1 builds for SM-T550/SM-T555. The following will not be supported here:
Custom kernels
Mods
Xposed
I don't support Xposed and any logcat which includes a Xposed module will be ignored. You're kindly invited to not report bugs if you:
Flashed a custom kernel
Installed or did mods from any source other then this thread
Modified system files
First time flashing LineageOS 14.1 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s)
Install a compatible Recovery (If you installed twrp early on you may need to reinstall it due to the device name changing)
Wipe data/factory reset
Flash LineageOS
Install the Google Apps addon package (Optional)

This build is designed for the Wifi-only variant (SM-T550) but it will flash and boot on the LTE variant (SM-T555), your tablet will act like a wifi only tablet so you will not have calling, texting, mobile data. In the future, I may make a SM-T555 build that has working telephony but probably not due to me not having one.
What's working:
Wifi
Bluetooth
Sensors
Video
Offline charging
Hardware buttons
What's broken:
GPS is flaky
Camera
Audio
Changelog:
4/18/18
Initial release
For some reason it's not booting on my device if I take the older version from you Android host profile it boots and only audio thorugh the devices speaker isn't working
@Deadman9365 Hi! Could you tell me which TWRP do you use? I found on the web only an UNOFFICIAL one which works only on MM... Could you help me, please? I would like to try this ROM
I have the same problem as user nils_92.
The old "nightly" version (lineage-14.1-20170619-NIGHTLY-gt510wifi) boots, but the new one (Sean_lineage-14.1-20180418-UNOFFICIAL-gt510wifi) does not. Here the device restarts again and again before it has been completely loaded for the first time. Tested with "TWRP-3.1.x-omni-7.1_j16_20170609_gt510wifi" and "TWRP-3.2.1.1-lineage-15.1_j2_20180418_gt510wifi" as recovery
I also tested the recoverys, the flashing of other custom roms for the SM-T550 works fine. So here you can rule out the error. What I haven't tried yet was to leave the device alone and see if it might catch itself again and then boot into the operating system at some point.
I can confirm for the nightly-version that the camera and the sound do not work.
Looking forward to testing the final version.
Is work still being done on this rom? I checked the github but i dont see any recent commits
Title says lineage 14.1 but github link are stating 15.1?
I am looking forward to flashing the next release and getting some more juice out of this tablet
Can I flash it on SM-P550?
I have T550 before; i just trade off for S pen.
New version not booting.
I have tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7) SM-T550
I do install TWRP 3.1.0.1 with ROM LineageOS 14.1.
1) Use to Wipe Factor Reset
2) Use to install Rom
3) Use to install GApps
4) Reboot
But, its not working (When i start "reboot") > "SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB A 9.7" after "LINEAGEOS" cant open launhcer, its alone off tablet and on again...
Thank you developer and thank you all for not responding me.
Finally I have bricked my Tab, I'm very thankful to you guys.

It doesn't working launcher it's alone off and on again.. please help me?? I like lineageaos
Hi @deadman96385 nice to See you Continue working on this tab?. Still got my sm-t555 running so i hope there will be a release for lte Version. Tell me if
i can Test for you again
I'm working in order to keep this device alive, too.
Oreo works and the camera is working in my testbuilds, except for some grainy previews in the camera app.
I'll release a build when the speakers are working. Headphones are working already.
Stay tuned
Audio is working now. Feel free to use my vendor & device tree here @deadman96385. There are still some camera related issues, for instance the bad preview in the stock camera app. Using a different camera app solved this issue for me. Since deadman already supports Lineage OS, I'll build & support AICP. Android Oreo works on the tablet, I hope deadman will switch to the newest version of android soon. If there's some time in the next month I'll try to fix the remaining issues (the camera and SELinux permissive). Maybe I have time to build a SM-T555 version, too. But I don't own this type of tablet, so I would definitely need some testers.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (OREO), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway. All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo.
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
Whats Not Working:
* No Music Key Function
* VoLTE is not working
* HDR in camera is not working
* Selinux is Permissive, will fix it after few builds by collecting logs and fixing denials
Workarounds:
* Use Jio4GVoice for VoLTE calling ( Assuming that you are on jio network otherwise for calls it'll automatically change to 2G/3G )
* Use open Camera for HDR
Instructions :
- Download the latest build, force encrypt disabler , treble TWRP, repartition zip and gapps
- Reboot to recovery
- Flash TWRP zip and reboot to recovery again
- Flash the repartition zip and reboot to recovery again
- Wipe System and Vendor
- Flash the latest build
- Make sure system and vendor are not mounted, go to mount section in twrp and if either or both of them are ticked, untick them
- Flash force encrypt disabler (Optional)(Only use it if you want to access the internal storage through TWRP and also for not having any issues when flashing magisk modules)
- Again reboot to recovery select Wipe-> format data ( If you already did this once ignore it, but if you flashed stock rom again do it) and wipe cache and dalvik cache
- Flash Gapps (Optional)(Atleast in theory:silly
- Reboot

Sure actually I fixed the bugs, will give a patch fix for fixing bugs as I'm busy with treble for k8 note
Hi,
I just wanted to shout out that your work makes a difference. I was in the market for a privacy-friendly, daily driver phone with decent specs and good LineageOS support. I preferred a Mediatek because Qualcomm's iZat location service / indoor positioning service transmits your position to Qualcomm, possibly at the firmware level where it is hard to disable. Yours is the only complete LineageOS for any good Mediatek phone.
However, I live in an overcrowded 2G/3G cell and therefore need VoLTE. At the time, I didn't yet see your comment about fixing VoLTE. I've repeatedly had issues with VoLTE working in India but not in my country. Then somebody confirmed that the Pocophone LineageOS can do VoLTE where I live. I ended up buying that, but it really was a close call.
Thank you for your work.
