LG MM Quick Settings on Nougat - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
I have an international LG G5 (H850) with official Nougat Rom. Due to my disability and clumsy hands, I much prefer the larger LG MM quick setting buttons (like old school Touchwiz), is there anyw ay to bring this to Nougat? More than happy to try a custom rom.
Thanks,
Chris

They wouldn't do that. They have to many new devices to sell, but not so good as LG g2-mini. There is few custom rom based on 5.1.1 but nfc and IR not working ;(
Finally switched to Cyanogenmod from Stock Rom, because I do not expect any more significant updates from LG.. With this switch I am now on Android Marshmallow, works like a charm on the G2 mini, even if the Cyanogenmod release is still in beta.

With 6.0 from LG you will get real, fully functional UX 4.0 so you'll can use LG device in 100% (IR remote controll, NFC and other producer functions.. etc), in CM it's imposibble and you don't know when they fix all bugs but of course CM is a good alternative and it's good that G2M has now official support but for me LG official firmware is the best Greetings
Ps I dont think so we will get 6.0 but maybe 5.1, it will be nice too. LG makes updater faster than other producers, G2M is now little bit old but still good phone.

Thats true, CM has some downsides like no NFC and IR support. But it has one important upside for me: Android Auto works far better. With LG stock rom, my mobile did not connect reliably with my car using Android Auto. After the switch to CM 13, Android Auto works perfectly.
I noticed too, has a much stronger GPS signal with CM13 , and i hate this stock rom large icons and not possible to hide status bar(a bunch of unnecessary google apps). My conclusion CM13 is better in every way, the only for camera I'm not sure.

Official 7.1.2 on G5 ?

Hello people,
Does anybody know when we will receive the 7.1.2 android update? Is there an official website/facebook page for software development?
7.0 is too buggy when it comes to battery life. Lots of wakelocks.
Yes my VS987 sucking battery life like a vacuum

LG never again... root could have fixed this but LG is just damn stubborn of not providing a bootloader unlock for all variants. I will try Xiaomi or Huawei next time. Or research on phones that are capable of root. Like ASUS

There won't be any 7.1.x update for us. But hopefully, in 2-3 months we might see Oreo update for LG G5 with LG UX 6 (not sure about +). So let's wait and watch.
In meantime, if you have a a bootloader unlockable and rootable variant, you can flash some AOSP custom rom based on 7.1.x, also we can expect a AOSP Oreo based custom rom in few weeks

GCAM Nightsight mod for LG G5 Oreo

Well cstark used to have an lg phone so he was making the mods for us but now he got a pixel 3. There is fu24 who is based on cstark's mods and makes them for lg. That's what I know

[REQ] LG UX 9.0 on the LG V20

So LG's released a nicer UI version (clearly inspired by the awesome One UI by Samsung) which I'm quite fond of.
Any idea if it'll be released for the V20, and if not (more likely) is anyone gonna be working on building it for our phone here on XDA?
Here's a link to the promo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22tO2q1cJk8
One can assume it will arrive with Pie 9.0.

G5 SE / H840 AOD Question

I've just bought a H840, I forgot to check before I bought it if it was a H850! Shame that there's no alternatives to the 7.x stock ROM, makes me wonder why LG never rolled out Oreo for it. Anyways, the phone is in very good condition so I'm not too upset & will use it as my daily phone while I do some custom work on my older H850.
I have a question about the H840 and wondered if anyone can help:
The Always On Display on the H840 does not have the 'Advanced' option to switch the AOD off according to a schedule. Does anyone know if it's possible to port the H850 AOD app to the H840?
Thanks
Disclaimer: I'm not familiar with the H840. But I suppose you could try it and find out. If you have any way to extract the app from the H850 (or from some stock firmware floating around), of course matching android version. With that said the two models are different enough spec wise I wouldn't expect it to work.

I've installed APK extractor from the Play Store & will see how it goes. There are other AOD apps, but would be nice to use the LG version if possible.
