How do I unofficially unlock BL? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, I was looking to unofficially unlock my BL. I decided to follow this thread : http://en.miui.com/thread-345728-1-1.html . But in this thread he says that I need a marshmallow fastboot rom installed on my phone before I start the procedure. I'm currently running the MM 7.1.5 beta rom. How do I get the MM Fastboot rom? and how do i install it? Can someone walk me through? TIA
EDIT: I'm using a Redmi note 3 pro (snapdragon) (KATE)

Don't answer if u don't know anything about question...
Fastboot rom is same rom as recovery rom or update. It is said fastboot rom because it can be flashed via fastboot / edl method.
@2000ftt since u r already on mm rom then u can continue to unlock bootloader unofficially but in case please already download fastboot rom so that if in emergency u can flash that easily through pc on ur mi phone.
Also unofficial unlock have some drawbacks please be sure to know them all.. I am too researching on unofficial unlock as my device is not getting unlocked. I hate miui rom.

Dude, please show a little respect, the guy asked about fastboot rom and I explained. I am unlocked officially, and that's your best option for sure.

Sorry bro, I apologize if u feel disrespected, my intention were pure.
I got my bootloader relocked, by this fastboot rom and now it is unable to unlock so I have researched thoroughly on all sites. May be it was anger towards miui that harsh words came out.
Also please advice, should I unlock unofficially..??

Redmi Note 3 Pro - Snapdragon (From China To Global)

Hello.
I just got my phone. I've imported the phone from China, so it's running Chinese ROM.
ROM is: MIUI V7.2,2.20.LHOCNDA
Now there is no Play Store.. I had Nexuses, OnePlus, M8, S6 edge.. And many other Android phones. I've rooted all of them. I am familiar with ADB, I know how to unlock bootloader on Nexus, OnePlus..
I've read trough the Redmi Note 3 PRO forum, and I see there can be problems with unofficial unlock. So I just applied for the official Unlock...
So can I flash the Global ROM with locked bootloader? If yes, how?
Can I root the Global ROM after the flash? If yes, how?
Can I unlock the bootloader on Global ROM?
What is the difference with Global ROM and dev. ROM?
Is there any reliable unlock method besides the official one? I am getting confused reading all of the way's to do it.
Any answerer will be appreciated :good:

if you want Play Store and multi lang you need global rom, but again be carefull with flashing
i don't recommend unlocking but for that you need dev rom otherwise you will get this error "Couldn't verify device at 50%"

[UNODDICIAL method] [BOOTLOADER UNLOCK] not working

[Snapdeggon Variant]
.
Hello, the unofficial method to unlock the bootloader given over at http://forum.miui.co.in/forum/mi-de...5165-redmi-note-3-snapdragon-unlock-the-beast is not working for me, no matter how many fastbboot ROMs I flash with Mi Flash Tool, or upgrade / downgrade using stock RECOVERY ZIP files.
Everytime same error, at fastbbot oem unlock-go it says "Invalid unlock token" or something like that.
.
I have already received confirmation sms for Official unlock, but that method not working, it is stuck at 50% and says "Please verify that same mi account should be logged in to device" or something like that.
.
Are these known issues already? And if yes, any other workarounds???
.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot !!!
It is a common known issue. I unlocked by first bricking my phone by flashing MIUI rom when unofficially unlocked, then my phone unlocked using the miflash unlock tool. Alternatively you could flash the global dev or china dev rom in order to unlock

I tried that, tried the global dev as well as global stable.

And any other way to unlock??

So flash China Dev then unlock officially?
Also, won't it really result in exchange of modem partitions instead of Indian modem that I currently have?

First you have to switch to miui rom and relock your bootloader . Then pray that you don't get stuck at 50 % .
I got the permission to unlock bootloader two weeks ago but stuck at 50% .
I flashed every rom be it global stable or Dev , china stable and dev and that too every previous version of MIUI (Wasted so much of data) but to no avail .
Finally I unlocked the bootloader unofficially .
Xiaomi is ****ing lazy to update our account on there server....
So doesn't matter what rom you install you have to wait atleast a week to unlock

Hey bro a little update . I unlocked the bootloader unofficial way and it was over a week after I got the confirmation SMS . So wanted to go back to MIUI with locked bootloader state for official unlocking .
Flashed the fastboot rom through MiFLash and I was back to MIUI with locked bootloader state and then unlocked it officially .
Hope it helps .

Yep did it with two devices after a week of confirmation sms . No trying in between so lets say after you have flashed global give it a go if it doesn't happen then do not try in between and try after straight 7 days .

Unlock Bootloader Request Problem

I wanna request permission to unlock bootloader via en.mi.com/unlock, but its always error like this after login my mi account.
do you have any solution ?
Thank You
there's no one can help me ?
Unlock your bootloader unofficially. It's a lot quicker. Plus, there's more chances of locking your bootloader again after flashing a custom ROM. don't find it necessary for permission to something that might get locked again.
Take a look at this tutorial for unlocking bootloader unofficially: https://youtu.be/CxVM7yrHTSE
Make sure you give exact credentials as in your MIUI account.
If your issue persist, raise a help request in MIUI forum regarding your account issue.
Else try signing with different account and check

I tried to do it on 7.1.8, worked to unlock but I got strange bug, battery appeared as -2% and it didn't let me boot into recovery. So I locked the bootloader again just in case and started again but I used the latest stable rom, replaced the file and flashed. Then I flashed TWRP and I'm now running a custom ROM without problems and with an unlocked bootloader. Thank you for your help

RN4 in bootloop. . . please help

Hi, I tried to unlock the bootloader of my RN4 (running MiUi 8.0.4 Global Stable), I got official permission and all that, but then something went wrong and my phone got into bootloop. I downloaded the fastboot ROM and tried to flash it via XiaoMiFlash but it says couldn't find the flash_all.
What can I do now? Help please
Hi, did you flash the China Development Rom before unlocking?
en.miui.com/forum.php?forumlist=1&mobile=2
I'm pretty sure that is a prerequisite? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Do a search for bootloader unlock bootloop over at MIUI here & see what you can find.
en.miui.com/forum.php?forumlist=1&mobile=2
sorry, my mistake, the error was couldn't find flash_all_except_storage.bat
but when I looked into the folder where I extracted the ROM, I saw there was no flash_all_except_storage.bat file. There was flash_all_except_data_storage.bat, so I renamed it to flash_all_except_storage.bat and the corresponding .sh file as well. And the flashing process worked this time...

I saw people talking in the MiUi forum that the unlocking process works in Global Stable as well, but most people prefer the developer version. So I gave it a shot, and well, failed
So you still haven't unlocked?

I think you need to be on the China dev/beta rom as Wilderone advises, that's how I did it and it worked without a problem. Use the SP flash tool, seems scary but pretty straight forward and you just need to to read and follow the instructions.

Nope, haven't unlocked yet... Any link/walkthrough is appreciated, anybody?
And I still can't find the OEM unlock button. I downloaded the rom from official forum, so it's not vendor customized. Shouldn't the OEM unlock button be under the developer options menu?

If the OEM unlock button doesn't show, its probably because your on a vendor rom. You need to download the fastboot rom to flash with and follow the instructions at the link below.

Sorry not sure if my link worked,i tried to link directly to the correct file. If you go to the link below and download latest China developer fastboot file, look for the Redmi note 4. This is the file you need to use with SP flash tool. When booting up the rom for the first time, you need to log in using your mi account, you should then be able to go to developer settings and look for mi lock option where you can switch it on to allow bootloader unlock.

[Q] Flashing Pixel ROM Redmi note 3

I am very keen to know about flashing ROMs
I am using Redmi note 3 SD 3G. I want to flash the pixel ROM for my device and I have the following doubts
1) Do I need to unlock my bootloader or without unlocking my bootloader I can directly flash TWRP?
2) If yes, then do I need a beta version of MIUI for unlocking my bootloader cause I have been trying since a very long time but it is stuck at 50%(I tried all the solutions).
Thanks a lot in advance
1. U have to unlock ur bootloader for flashing custom recovery .
2. it should be unlocked on any version but dev versions have more chance of unlocking than stable ones (especially china rom,s have high probability )
3 U can try unofficial bootloader unlocking but do it on ur own risk as it can hard brick ur device .

Wait for a few days or couple of weeks, that helped in my case. Update and try syncing your Mi account on your phone.
Follow the instructions here
http://en.miui.com/unlock/
If nothing works, follow this guide, just flash any ROM of your choice with TWRP.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/kate-guide-install-lineage-os-locked-t3546154
And if you want the Pixel experience, install PureNexus ROM, it is better.
Just flash lineageos with stock gapps. And then flash my universal pixelmod. It will give you full pixel experience. Nav bar not included yet. Will include it in future.
