About Project:
Cardinal-AOSP is a Custom ROM which was initially based on AOSPB, then we changed our mind and rebased it to AOSP-RRO, to get better compatibility with most of the devices, Cardinal is being built with Uber toolchain, with most of uber optimizations, with full Substratum Support and with minimal customization, the main aim of this ROM is to bring stock AOSP experience as possible while maintaining performance, smoothness and good battery backup. I hope that you'll all love this project, and help us, shape it even more better.

Dang. You always get me haha. I went to cypher since you put up beta 4, but now you have a new build here. I love cardinal for some reason, so now I'm back. For good I think.
One question... Is it possible to implement the auto brightness toggle in quick settings like in cypher beta 4? I like that feature. If not, no worries. Just curious.

I think there might be a bug with usb/wifi tethering sadly. No matter what I do, my computer gets an IP address but the web connection is always down.

No, there is no bug like that, it is working perfectly. (Writing this using USB Tethering only).

I had SD problem too on this a couple other AOSP-based ROMs, and it's been reported but seems not to be all cards. Mine is a SanDisk Ultra 64GB SDXC UHS-I and it doesn't have this issue on stock or most other ROMs here. Appears to be something in the ROM itself that should be correctable.

I don't recall having magisk installed with this ROM. And I never SuperSU. And I had it themed, so I'm 99% sure it's rootless oms.

Really?? I never tried it with Cypher. I didn't realize it wasn't working. I went back with lineage based ROMs for now. They seem to work well with ElementalX. Aokp has been my daily driver lately. But Cardinal is great.

Maybe you can change SELinux to permissive manually till the next build comes out.

Yup manually. But you can try my code there. No apps needed. Just run it through Android Terminal then reboot. You get permissive until you remove it or wipe the system. It's only temporary. The next LP builds will fix the camera issues so no need for it to be permissive. Just this one.

Yeah I know that,no need of this actually.I'll just add androidboot.selinux=permissive after Kernel CMDLINE in BoardConfig.mk

I thought there's a fix where you don't have to change SELinux to permissive? The devs from DU said it cause they're afraid of the security issues of permissive SELinux.

What's AOSP ?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
We added few non-AOSP features for a better user experience and we NOT going to add something other.
What's CodeAurora Forums ?
Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Code Aurora is basically AOSP plus all Qualcomm specific enhancements and optimization.
Few basic additions on top of AOSP-CAF :
AOSP Messaging app
Bluetooth "Accept All Files" Feature
"Silent" and "Airplane Mode" in Power Menu
Marshamllow Bootanimation
Custom Hardware Keys binding
Working/Not Working:
Working
All basic functionalities
Not Working
You tell me with logcats & ksmg.

Yesterday build I found bootanimation not showing and red square on apps.
Buy since you build new one not eng mode maybe it fixes it now?
Also hope tri state can be added and FM app with radio working.
Keep up the nice work mate.

Yes, That was an eng build, boot animation and red square issue was because of that only its solved now in the updated build.
Working on tri-state and radio, will try to fix asap.

About ROM
Github : https://github.com/BrokenROM
From Lead Dev, InkSlinger420
This started as my personal project..I was looking to start something that was exactly what I wanted on my nexus 7 instead of either a Rom with a bunch of features you need a search to find (not that there's anything wrong with that, just not my cup of tea), or too light where i needed a module to get it (not that there's anything wrong with that either). It is very early in, but I and my team are trying to make this a enjoyable project and keep it updated as best we can regularly. Keep it friendly, or GTFO.....Thanks guys..
Thanks to Slim for the best base...and anyone (person or team) who has helped me along the way..
Standard Disclaimer
No one besides yourself is responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in the products you find here before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Your warranty will be void if you tamper with any part of your device / software. That said, I have tested this, and wouldn't post it here if I thought you would have issues from using it.

Installation Procedure :
Flashing procedure for the noobs out there:
1. Make a backup of your current setup
2. Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache.
3. Flash ROM and GAPPS
4. Reboot system and setup
5. SuperSU will ask you to update binaries. Don't worry, root is good. Just select yes to appease the app.
6. Profit!
If there are other kernels, mods or bootanimations or whatever other fancy stuff you add, do that after the initial install and boot. Be warned. If you have problems and are running anything besides stock BrokenOs, we won't support it. If you're flashing anything to your phone, we assume you have basic troubleshooting knowledge. Thanks for your cooperation.

There's no problem with him posting this on XDA, official XDA staff are the only ones who can dictate what is or isn't posted here.

Good!
Well done dev for bringing this ROM to OPX. Nice experience testing this ROM for the first time, good battery backup, smooth, fluid, no heating problems. So far, I found only some minor features missing in this ROM: option to disable HW menu buttons, other than that I'm quite satisfied. Oh, and boot animation can be improved as well I guess..
Gapps link not working anymore. Can I just use any gapps?

I always use opengapps for all my ROM install, never having issues with it.

I'll look on the hw menu buttons. and about the boot animation, you have to stick to it or flash a custom one lol

Use any gapps for it, i dont have any problems with open gapps but nowadays open gapps are giving some issues, so for a safee side use banks or slim.

Does it have the same GPS bug as CM13?
Wi-fi not working on Benschold/kernels based on it.
Other than that, love the rom! I'm gonna see if I can find a way to resolve the wi-fi problem.

GPS working fine here.. Not 1 issue with it. Faster GPS lock than on Oxygen (at least for me) and since it's AOSP based I would assume it is absent.

Boeffla is also CM13 based, works fine on the rom. This is the only AOSP based rom I've tried where benschold doesn't work.
I'm gonna try to pull out the wifi stuff from it.

I know. I just assumed the issue was because the rom was AOSP based but who knows. But if you do get anywhere with it be sure to let me know. Can send me a PM so we don't clutter the thread.

Notification slider settings does nothing and reset to default when I leave the menu.
Also I find no option for Sim 2 ringtone.
Sometimes at screen transitions the screen glitches.
Clean install, Pico open gapps

I can't vouch for SIM 2 as I only use 1 ... I've not seen any flickering but the alert slider, while it functions, customizing the settings do not stick for me either. Not sure what kind of log could be used for that since there's no visible errors.. the only issue I have is the text in some places seems too dark? If you switch to the dark theme you can barely see the secondary text.. like it's black on slightly lighter black...
Hello, compass won't work,, slider customization change as no effects, long press home button not launch google now, sim 2 not use lte only 2g, somes network modes isn't hide for my sim operator. data usage show only one sim.

Okay sir.
Eager to try this ROM
---------- Post added at 07:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:53 AM ----------
I am on firmware 12.0.1
Is that fine?
Would like to see Android 11 on your other ROM, Ancient OS.
I haven't tried this ROM yet. Am guessing it's as good as Ancient?
can use custom kernel uncle?
My SD-Card appears as corrupted and I can't read any data from it. Does anyone have a fix for that?
Also the hide notch functionality doesn't seems to be working at all. When I select it, it just goes back to "Default".
The Volte toggle is missing, I would like to know, if the default is off?
Otherwise super smooth and fast rom, keep up the good work!
Edit: after a reboot the hide notch started to work as expected. (probably source bug, not rom related)

Sorry unable to place calls with this ROM
Please ensure that you have selected phone app as default in settings.

Tried this earlier, selected Phone app in settings, didn't work, then installed a paid dialer (Drupe) that I use, selected it as default, even that didn't work.
Clean flashed (with even internal storage format) and tried this twice, no luck.
After setting phone as default reboot. It works
