Any place that sell the USB C to 3.5mm adapter? - HTC U11 Accessories

The only place I could find the adapter USB C to 3.5mm is at HTC US website and it's on ''pre-order'' for days, so where can you find it?
Of course I am searching for the HTC one

Check Amazon or eBay. Someone might be reselling theirs. You probably will have to buy it from a regular person, though.

Probably until the release of the next HTC phone...which will be USB-C...in which case, the adapter will be sold out again...

In stock in the UK...I just bought a spare after I realised how good it is with UAPP!
I mean if you get super desperate I'd be happy to post you one at cost?
UK price is £9.90 + whatever it costs to post to 'Murica...

In stock on the french HTC site, 12.90€.
But there are many adapters usb-c > jack 3.5 on Amazon, but not the official one. Only the official one works ?

Yes, because it has a DAC/AMP built in apparently. I just bought a spare from the UK store, it works on other devices. Works on OP3 and my Dell tablet PC.
I hope others make something as small and compact, when you output to DAC via UAPP the listening experience is much better!
When I have some cash to burn I'll be buying some nicer in ears.

Anybody find a place in the US that sells the adapters besides htc.com? They've been out of stock for a while now.

holy moly, HTC charges 21,60€ shipping fee. WTF?

With the release of the Pixel 2, looks like google is selling a usb-c to 3.5mm adapter as an accessory:
https://store.google.com/product/usb_c_headphone_adapter
Maybe this will work with the u11? Anyone want to take one for the team and see if it works? =D

Hello I just bought an HTC U11 secondhand and it didn't have the USB C adapter. I need one where in the heck can I get one? HTC needs to step up their game why take away the 3.5mm jjack and not ever have stock of the adapters. Please anyone point me in the direction where I can find one thanks!

As I mentioned in my post above, Google is now selling an adapter for the pixel 2. I reached out to Google support and they said that it includes a DAC/Amp, just like the one that HTC was selling. Maybe try ordering that and see if it works?

Actually I'm gonna hold off because I went to order and it said delivery November 17...thats a while.

Well the good news is the Google ones are only $9 now with free shipping, they were listed as $20 originally!! I'll definitely order once they are availible and let everyone know. I can't believe HTC doesn't keep stock in the US of something so important to their phone.

Works with HTC 10, so probably should work with u11

I asked HTC directly and this was their answer:
We understand you are looking to buy a USB Type-C Adapter and it's currently unavailable from the HTC website. Regrettably, we don't have an ETA for it to give out.
Have you tried checking with your local network provider store?
As for the recommended adapters, we are very sorry but we can't recommend any third-party adapters as these are non-HTC products and we can't guarantee it'll work 100%.

Pretty pathetic by HTC considering they're about to release more phones without headphone jack. Only thing saving me is the little Bluetooth adapters off Amazon. And another hope is the Google pixel jack that supposedly has a DAC built-in. They're not available yet though.

I ordered the Moshi adapter yesterday that also allows usb c charging. Hopefully it works!

Mini-USB audio adapters

Hello,
I just noticed there are many Mini-USB to 3.5 (or 2.5) audio adapters on sale at e-Bay, like this.
All of them seem to be for Motorola phones, though. Anyone has tried on the TyTN?
I seem to remember reading somewhere in GENERAL that they would not. Someone asked HTC and they said it was propietry - but they would have an adapter out soon(ish).
Rich
I can't see why it shouldn't work... it's just £5 so what's the loss if it doesn't...
EDIT: I've bought one today. I'll tell if it works or not....
The port is NOT proprietary. It is a standard mini-USB, and takes standard mini-USB cables.
They tweaked the socket a little bit to go along with their new proprietary headset.
In other words, you can plug in any standard mini-usb cable/accessory, but you can't plug the headset into any standard mini-usb port.
Sorta "dain-bramaged" if you ask me, but since I use a bluetooth headset, it's a non-issue.
Charge and audio simulataneously?
So, how do I both charge the unit and listen to music (wired headphones) at the same time? Does anyone know?
There is an alternative to an adapter. As they say on Blue Peter, here's one I made earlier.......
http://www.4winmobile.com/tutorial-replace-hermes-headset-connector-with-35mm-socket-vt3146.html
I asked htc for an adapter
here ist the answer:
Dear Sir
At present HTC does not manufacture, supply or support such a connection and HTC cannot supply such a diagram.

Easy answer: get an iPod!
Hello,
I tried one of those "motorola / razr" headphone adapters on sale at ebay. while the adapter fits nicely it doesn't work. Tytn just doesn't seem to recognize it.
Any thoughts of why it doesn't work and alternatives greatly appreciated.

If you look at the connector the motorola one has 5 pins across the top of the it. If you look at the Tytn on it has 5 pins across the top and 6 across the bottom. In order to be compatible with current chargers the top 5 pins supply the charging and the bottom 6 supply headset and serial connections.
I do not intend to use the "Line out" function of my TyTN often but it DOES lack an audio output. Sometimes I need to connect the device to speakers and etc.
It should be a modified mini USB port that the TyTN has and that must have saved some space over traditional 2.5mm sockets. We all know 2.5 sockets are not common and you need an apaptor to change it to 3.5mm anyway so prolly HTC gave up on the 2.5 and made the USB standard.
I am pretty sure that some accessory will come out.
Does anyone know if the Ebay adaptor cable will work on the TyTN?
Most of the ebay adapters are standard usb mini for use with the razor etc. These will not work. It needs to be an adapter specifically for the Tytn.
thanks! It is really stupid for HTC not to launch any accessories for the TyTN(or other releases).
Like the Atom Exec has factory cradle kit, battery, silicon cases, leather straps and etc. I don't even know where to get an extra battery!

Thanks for the link. I'm more concerned that I should have gone for a higher quality HDMI since I got a 10 footer that is a lesser quality cable then they suggest under the adapters description. Oh well, I have plenty of other short ones should I need to pony up more cash for a better cable later. Their prices are so cheap I can afford the $5 for a cable I'm sure I'll use one day.

uh, note that this one doesn't include a usb cable for power - so if this is for long term it won't work well. For short term/showing stuff, etc, it should work quite well.
However, it is a lot cheaper than the one with USB and hdmi - which is like $30.

It has a micro usb port on the side so you can go out from there to charge, just not with the cable that came with the Rez. If you follow my link above where this adapter was previously discussed you can read a couple ways people are using this.

The phone's port is used by the adapter itself and the port on the adapter is a regular micro usb. You need to use that to keep the charge coming in to the phone. The Rezound has a extMicro or whatever it's called so it's a different shape and won't fit into the micro usb port on the adapter.
I believe that will work. Micro goes into the adapter and the A male goes into the charge adapter plug.
Check out the thread in the link I posted above, people have come up with a couple different solutions for how to wire it up so that it's not so messy and so that they can have the phone farther away from the TV/receiver.
BOOM! This thing is the t!ts!
Very impressed not only with how everything worked but how bad ass the video and camera is on this phone. Let me paint this picture for you..... Grab your booze of choice.... I'm on to wine since I'm hanging with the wife.... F that, I like wine! Don't judge me!
So I've been home for about 2 hours after an office happy hour and the wife and I are watching a flick, drinking some wine and I hear the words finally come out of her mouth, "you got a package with some cords or some sh!t...... ". I flew off the couch like a squatter in a raided crackhouse, grabbed the cables and set up in no time. Crystal clear! Smooth and flawless! Wife still confused...key moment... How do you drag the wife into your excitement..... Baby videos that have been on your phone for three years and probably haven't been seen since then.
Cables, $20 including shipping and handling.
Rezound, $250
Impressing the wife with technology, priceless...... BS! The freedom I gained and my inability to not buy cool sh!t will continue to be very expensive!

USB C type adapter cable that allows charge the phone and listen to music at once?

I was looking for the type of cable that allow to charge and use cable headphones( C type) . There are solutions for Iphone 7 but I have not come across any for Android. What's the situation in regards HTC U11?
I did the same search for about an hour one night, I didn't find anything either. I expected many options out of China. I was a bit surprised. Maybe the plug cannot put out and accept power at the same time on Android?

I found this where the blogger talks a out possible schematics for usb c that enables both charge and music listening at the same time. Article is written in 2016.
Because I saw such adapters for iphone 7 maybe apple worked it out how to do it on lighting cable. Anyway here is a link : http://pocketnow.com/2016/09/08/the-impending-horror-of-usb-type-c-audio-adapters
I read something about type C that claims that splitting the port for simultaneous use and charging may be technically challenging for some reason. I tried looking for that article, but couldn't find it again. Regardless, if I need to charge while listening to my earphones, I temporarily use Bluetooth and one of these adapters: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MJMV0GU/ref=psdcmw_1293687011_t1_B01NCSFAAO)
to continue using my normal earphones until my phone fully charges. I really like my normal earphones and don't want to use Bluetooth ones, so I use this adapter till the phone's charged.
@itiskonrad
Isn't that a rushed decision by android manufacturers to replace 3.5 jack without exploring give situation ?! I have already two decent pair of earbuds and will have the third bundled with handset.
Did you buy that Bluetooth adaptor and using by any chance? If so are you fully satisfied?

It is a rushed decision. What I'm curious about is if they used the anonymous usage data to make this decision. If so, it's possible that people who used both the headphone jack and charged their phone at the same time under-represented themselves by opting out of anonymous usage data.
Companies like Samsung and LG are "throw as many features into the phone as possible!" companies; making them more likely to be the last major manufacturers to get rid of the headphone jack.
3.5 jack on phones is dying off just like removable batteries. It's that simple.
You get a free included adaptor - so this is really not an issue as I see it.

Could be they used wrong audience for that purpose. For instance apple by getting rid of 3.5 jack and patenting lighting port makes a lot of money. And that makes a sense because every company that wants to make lighting cable they pay apple. I don't know what is the situation with 3.5 jack and USB C type but that could also be related to Bluetooth earbuds/head[hone market. Just guessing.
I use my G5 connected to USB Type C for charging, while also using the 3.5mm headset jack connected to the car's AUX Audio input for playing Music, Navigation, Waze. I was hoping there would be an adapter somewhere (for phones like the U11) that would allow it to charge while also being able to connect to 3.5mm audio.
Hi got redirected here by @Lock and Load. Seems it is possible to do manual cable, but have to use data + - for charging (from what i read). That means 500mA charging only. I will try a cable when i get some time. Can a usb-c hub be used? Has anyone tried? Would save a lot of messing around.

The Y+cables won't charge your phone, only the peripheral which you plugged in the other USB Port. And a power bank or. Charger in the other port.

U11 USB C adapter alternatives

looking into buying a U11 off Swappa. But many seem to be lacking the USB C/3.5mm headphone adapter and they aren't available from HTC US.
Some say this app will work as an alternative.
Is anyone using this in combo with a generic adapter, or better to find a OEM adapter?
I had tried both unofficial and official adaptors and nothing had worked. I installed the program and both adaptors now work
The unofficial one I got from eBay stated it was for the HTC U11 but always gave me a warning when I plugged it in stating that the 'Accessory not supported'. I still get the message but it now works.
excellent! thanks for the reply.
You could also buy the Google USB-C-to-3.5mm Adapter. Got one myself which works with my U11 just fine. Odered it, as it cost 9€ including shipment - instead of 25€ for the genuine HTC adapter, when I ordered it here in Germany.

Best USB-C to Aux Adapter for Music

Hey all,
I just bought the Global Mi Mix 3 and it doesn't come with a case nor a USB-C to Aux adapter in the box like the Chinese models do. This is my first foray into USB dongles so I don't know a lot about them, does anyone have any recommendations on which ones provide the best quality sound? I did some Googling and couldn't find anything very useful, the few comparisons that were backed up with actual evidence went way over my head.
Is there any reason to buy the $25 Razer 2 adapter over the $14 Pixel 2 one, or even the $10 Apple one? A couple reviews say the Razer 2 adapter is the best but there's not much information as to why. Seems to be a trend with USB-C audio in general... is there any way to tell which adapters are compatible with the Mi Mix 3 short of buying a bunch and trying them out? I at least found out that phones other than Motorola and HTC require active adapters (ones with a chip inside that can draw power from the device), but does anyone know which brands/models are good quality?
WTF? Mine is a global Version and comes with a case with the same color of the phone (chinese always comes with a black version) and the USB-C Adapter
You could look into HIDIZS Sonata HD DAC II, (29.64 on aliexpress).
This supports PCM 192Khz 24Bit output.
The default output is trash no matter which dongle/cable you buy unless it has a dac in it.
