ICOO iCou D70G2 Softbrick -- Please Help - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I rooted my ICOO iCou D70G2 and managed to softbrick it into a loop at the Android messages. I bought another, identical tablet, and would now like to clone the new one into the old. I would very much appreciate complete, newbie level instructions on how this can be done.
Here is what I have tried so far.
I looked for a stock ROM for this device, but can't find one. The closest out there I could locate is for a D70Pro II. I don't know if it will work, and in any case, I still can't figure out how to flash the old tablet.
The old tablet does go into recovery mode using vol up and power. I tried putting the Pro II flash on the micro sd card (tried both img and zip, separate times), but the tablet isn't seeing the micro sd card in recovery mode with the update from sd card option. It shows a folder /sdcard with some seemingly empty subfolders, but even if I take out the micro sd card it shows the same set of folders and says choose a package.
I tried using the Intel USB drivers with adb, but the device isn't recognized in recovery mode by adb. Rockchip Batch Tools 1.8 also doesn't see the device, although it seems to load the ProII img file correctly.
It would be really great to get this old tablet to work. I don't have any CWM, TWRP or any other backup software on either device at this point. The new device is new from the box and not rooted.

Original Factory Image Files

Hi, I'm looking for original recovery image for folio so i can return my folio for warranty repair due to the "damaged internal storage" and SD card not detected problem. Other people have that problem but no one got a solution.
There was only one link from dexter
but it does not work for me (maybe due to sd card not correctly detected? sd card can be detected for some other mod though). Also when i open the zip file i notice the files types and location in the "folio stock image" is different from the mod that works on my folio.
Someone seems to have a Folio Original Recovery(apply via recovery).....how to do that actually?
Can it be fixed by fastboot (never done this and not sure what it is about actually) as done here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012980#12482544
http://bb2k.org/folio100wiki/index.php/FolioMod_Issues#Internal_storage_give_problems_.2F_no_enough_space_.2F_internal_storage_results_damaged
If you have sd damage or something like that it must be the mbr .At the end of lost partition method 2 , use this file mbr.mbr inside zip http://www.box.net/shared/suinl2fzqb63jkqaispj with adb
Hope this can help you but you need to install sdk and adb shell on you computer with the correct folio driver to connect your tablet in fastboot
Warning if you re not sure of what you do you should not do this but if it "bricked" it Will not be worst
if you are with Windows seven sometimes it s hard to install proper driver for folio try to use pdanet to do that if you still have waiting for device in adb shell

[Q] Installed Uruk, tried to go back to stock...Now I have BIG problems

All I wanted to do is go back to a stock rooted device with ext4 support.
I had Uruk 1.64 installed. All seemed to be working, but it was slugish on my 101 G8. So I reformated device, tried to drop in the latest AOS firmware from Archos and all I get is "Update Failed (1)". I removed the SDE, Formated Device and tried to install the firmware with the same message comming up. It automatically boots to the recovery menu now.
Is it normal to have to format the 101 with fat32 before I copy the new AOS? Whenever I "Update Firmware", it formats itself under the recovery menu then forces me to format it under Windows 7 x64 so I can copy the AOS firmware to the 101.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. (I have also removed the SD card and tried it that way as well)
Try to download the firmware again. This error is often caused by corrupted download.
Or by people that don't look for the right filename.
It really has to be "firmware_archos_android_gen8.aos" not "firmware_archos_android_gen8(1).aos" or anything else.
I already downloaded the image 3 times and renamed it proper (without the numbers)
Can't figure this one out
make sure you've downloaded firmware that matches your device, not 70b etc
I downloaded the firmware on the Archos site for "Archos 28/32/35/43/70/101 internet tablet". I have the G8 101 16gb
can you borrow an USB cable from a friend? maybe you've hit it somehow and it causes data loses. there 0.01% for it to happen. try to fit it well. out of ideas...
I will try a different computer and cable. I was able to copy files to the 101 however. I will give it a shot.
I think it has something to do with the Urukdroid installation on the MicroSD. I was not able to update the firmware; however, when I inserted the micro SD with Uruk on it, it booted back into Uruk. I have since formatted the MicroSD and now I can get nothing to work.
Tried a different computer, download and cable to no avail. Any suggestions?
Is it normal for Windows to format your 101's drive before it can mount it? It makes me do this everytime before I attempt to update the firmware.
SOLVED!!!!
Had to change the file type to "vfat" in the Format menu. I was able to then update the Firmware.

sideload/push help please

I previously had an android revolution hd rom installed, which i love... but due to some tinkering it no longer boots, it's stuck on the htc one loading screen.
However I also deleted that rom off the internal memory, which comes under the directory of "sdcard" even though the htc one doesn't have one.
This means I can't reinstall from the rom zip.
I have an updated version of android revolution, but how do i get it onto my phones internal memory?
After doing some googling , I came up with information about sideload, but because adb doesn't detect my device via clockwork mod recovery I don't think I can proceed.
Adb does however detect the device while it's on the stuck htc one loading screen. I think probably sideload isn't an option from this point?
Do i have to use adp push command?
God i wish htc one had an sd memory card, this wouldn't be a problem.
On a side note i have a device which allows me to insert a usb pen drive via the micro usb slot (which i can easily put a rom onto)
is that a viable way of performing the installation?
Really desperate for any help here, am a a loss why sideload isn't working from clockwork mod recovery.

Click to collapse
it's really easy to load the rom from the usb otg cable
your going to need the newest version of TWRP recovery if you want the new ARHD
Flash TWRP
reboot after plugging in the usb otg
from TWRP choose install
where is says Storage: Click it and choose USB OTG
hit back hit install theirs your rom Flash and enjoy.
but you'll still need to flush the cache ( From you other Post )
fastboot erase cache

How to place Custom ROM file on HTC One w/ no Operating System?!

Hi,
This is my first time rooting my HTC One (T-Mobile) and have managed to unlock my bootloader and install TWRP Recovery. Long story short, while attempting to install the latest Android Revolution HD Custom ROM, I seemed to have wiped my whole phone clean and don't even have an operating system anymore.
How can I get the Custom ROM file from my computer to my phone if I don't even have an operating system to boot into? It would be no problem if this phone had an SD card slot, but it doesn't . The only thing I can boot into now is the TWRP Recovery.
I have tried using the MOUNT option in TWRP Recovery, but to no avail. I have also tried to download HTC Sync Manager and the computer still does not recognize my HTC One. All I need is for my computer to recognize my phone and pop up in Windows Explorer so I can copy it into my phone's internal memory and use TWRP Recovery to install the ROM.
P.S. I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit.
PLEASE HELP ME! :'(
I am in the same situation, i have no operating system and can't access the internal storage.
How do I enable usb debugging?
USB OTG
Hi guys,
I just had this same problem. I formatted internal storage and had no OS at all.
I bought a USB OTG wire from Amazon. I put the ROM I wanted to install on a regular USB Drive and connected it using the USB OTG wire.
http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-...e=UTF8&qid=1398213984&sr=8-2&keywords=usb+otg
In TWRP I went to the Mount function and unchecked all boxes except USB OTG. Make sure that's checked. Then, go to install and navigate up folders to the top level folder. Scroll down and the bottom folder will be called USB OTG. Look in there for your ROM.
Install and enjoy!
Now if someone could help me figure out why ADB won't connect: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727881

SDcard detected only while connected to PC [SOLVED]

Hi i accidentaly wiped my Android OS, recovery mode isnt working neither is ADB or fastboot,
i think my only solution is to flash it with an SD card or use stock recovery files with an SDcard, but neither works because i put update.zip into the root of SD card, and it only detects it and asks to install while its connected to PC with usb, but when i press install its restarts and its black screen(probably cant see SD anymore because of lost contact with pc), i tested it multiple times and it doesent asks to install update.zip firmware when its not connected to PC and turned on normally.
any other solutions?
i also tried to make a bootable SD card with rockchip sd maker , also wont boot from it even when plugged in pc( i guess too late contact with pc)
the device is prestigio pmp5880d
ANY help is appreaciated
also the tablet has a reset pinhole which only restarts the tablet
AFAIK Android doesn't make use of bootable SD-card unless it's added to Android's fstab file what gets processed when Android boots up.
so for what is rockchip SD disk tool used for then?
and why isn't my SD recognized to install update.zip when NOT connected to PC
anything i can do about it?
are you telling me this device is unflashable?
If your time allows look inside here to get an idea of what the Android Boot Process is about:

BTW:
Never have used the Rockchip SD Firmware Tool, hence I don't know what it does. But I'm pretty sure it only is suitable to Rockchip devices.
thanks a lot for this , its an interesting read.
yes my device is indeed rockchip RK3066.
edit:
flashed the device with stock rom using fastboot on linux, it couldnt get detected on windows no matter what i did.
