Honor 9 problems, microphone doesn't work properly, graphic glitches - Honor 9 Questions & Answers

My first Honor 9 has a problem with the microphone so I've changed it.
The problem persists, it also presents some graphic glitches (such as black/white lines on the screen especially while I'm using WhatsApp or telegram) and as it wouldn't be enough, the SwiftKey's gestures don't work. Many other people have experienced the same diseases and we are very disappointed.

Maybe EMUI5 compatibility issue? Because it only happens on certain apps as you said.

How about the service center?

Issue with auto punctuation in Chrome on Android

So I have this issue on three of my phones. Sometimes when I double tap the space bar to have it insert a period then a space it will instead remove the last letter of the word, insert a space then a period. Not sure what is causing it or how to fix it. Doesn't seem to be only the words I used in the video and for some reason it doesn't seem to do it every time. Only seems to happen when I am using Chrome and filling in a text box. I am using the Google Keyboard from Google Play on my Z2 and Z Ultra (not shown in the video) and the AOSP keyboard in Cyanogenmod on the OnePlus One.
You can see what I mean in the video: http://youtu.be/IFqFBZE-hsw
No one else have this issue? It's driving me nuts.

It seems like a autocorrect bug with the keyboard your using
Does it happen with other keyboards, and does it happen with a difference in auto correct or auto period with keyboards?
I haven't used another keyboard. The issue is with auto punctuation, haven't seen it do it with auto correction.

Yes i have noticed this too.
Seems to be only in Chrome (in webforms etc) and as far as I can tell only on a Oneplus One.
A very quick double tab results sooner in a delete of the last letter before the period than if you double tab slower. So it is definately looks like a bug.
Try emailing both google and sony
This could be a Framework bug on sonys half or it could be a google bug with chrome
Could be a bug on both sides to do with text handling
Just experienced this also on my LG GPAD 8.3 running CM11
Okay so it isn't just me. Three different devices people have experienced this one. Gotta be on Google's side since it is happening on the different devices.

[Q] Xiaomi Mi pad - India

Just purchased an Mi pad. Noticed that there is no forum for Mi pad on XDA!!!
Someone please suggest how to create a forum on XDA so that we can keep ourselves updated with latest tweaks and troubleshooting tips.

me too.
I encountered a problem though. When I make any video/voice call then the person on other end can't hear me.
Seems like microphone is malfunctioning. Even the camera crashes when I record any video.
How about yours ?

yeah, you're absolutely right. But the camera app crashes only if you use the front cam. The back cam works normal. you cannot stop the video...
I have a problem with charging of mipad. I plugged in charger when battery was at 6%. But despite being connected to charger, and showing charging sign, the battery continued to discharge and was at 0% . as I plugged out the charger it switched off.
The problem started now. I put it for charging and went away. But after 3hrs, the battery is not at all charged and not even switching on.
The red blinking led on top is the only reaction when I put it for charging ,otherwise nothing. It's been 4days,I looked for answers but couldn't find. Can anyone tell what's the reason.
MI PAD - Games crushing suddenly
Hi,
I recently purchased a Mi pad and its on stock MIUI 7 rom (global stable version) - recently updated.
I am facing issues with two big shot games :crying:
a) Into the dead - games crushes in the opening phase only while loading with the error message - unfortunately "Game" has stopped.
b) Unkilled - game was running fine until i reached a certain level. While loading the new level the game crushed and I again got the same error message - unfortunately Unkilled has stopped.
I tried all possible solutions available in the internet without any success.
Are any of you facing the same probs and got any solution to this irritating bug?
Will shifting to CM 11 solve these issues?
Please help. I am kind of stuck and dont know what to do....thanks !

[Q] MM Tracker & MIui 8

I've used an app called 'MM Tracker' for several years on several different devices to provide positional / tracking info. It has been working successfully on my RN2 Prime up until I moved from Miui 7 to Miui 8. The app normally continues to track my position using the inbuilt GPS even when I switch the screen off but now in Miui 8 it almost immediately stops tracking when I switch the screen off. I've read elsewhere of others having problems with GPS and Miui 8 and they have resolved their problems by adding the GPS.CONF file for their region to the ETC folder but this makes no difference in this case.
Has anyone else experienced this problem ? Does anyone have any suggestions that I might try to fix this ?

I gave it a try but it didn't resolve my problems. Thanks for the suggestion
Don't forget to switch off battery optimisation

The symptoms you describe are consistent with MM Tracker being put to sleep by the battery optimiser built into the OS. If you switch off the battery optimisation in the OS settings for MM Tracker it should start working fine. This applies also for fresh installs of MM Tracker.

Lag during Google Navigation

Hello,
I'm very happy with my Mate 10 Pro, but since I've had it, I'm having a problem with using Google Navigation.
Indeed, the navigation it is not fluid and jerky.
Here is a short video to illustrate this problem :
Mate 10 Pro BLA-L29 8.0.0.127 (C432).
I've had this happen on .127 as well. I don't recall it being an issue on the factory version (.115 I think?).
I think we should report it to Huawei as a bug.
The B129 is in the process of deployment, maybe it corrects this bug?
Same here with 127
No issues with full screen app navigation, but with overlay phone just lags as ****, like phone is 10 years old..
Same here .129... Any fix?
If you have unlocked the bootloader and installed Magisk, then you can use this -

Honor Camera App killing other apps

Hey guys,
My wife has a Honor 10 (COL-L29) with EMUI 9.0 (Pie). Her phone is stock (locked bootloader) and she's having this issue (since Oreo actually). Every time she opens her Camera app to take a picture, it kills the other apps running in the background, I believe it's the EMUI RAM management that's killing those apps, but I wonder if there's a way of avoiding that or at least, improve my wife's experience with her phone.
Thanks for any help.
On EMUI8, I never experience this. but on EMUI9, the camera app kills my home launcher.

My wife has this problem since EMUI8 (although, reboot sometimes "solved the problem"). I can't believe more people isn't experiencing this... maybe there's not so many heavy users with Honor 10.
Me too , I was walking on the street, listening Spotify and when I want to take a picture of the three, the Spotify was killed cmon.
It's an issue from EMUI 9
When AI is off, everything is fine. When AI is on, sometimes the Spotify is killed after the first photo, sometimes after third.

It make sense to kill spotify because back with emui 8 i had spotify on and when someone was calling me on messenger or a regular phonecall, spotify was still playing on the background. There is no official statement and also i dont have issues like yours. Is there a possibility that you have developers option on and you have activated the "kill all background apps" thingy? Or sonehow is activated after update... Try turning it on and off if it shows off.

When somebody calls me, Android (by default, not aggressive EMUI power management) just stop the playing song, doesn't it?
Anyway, I don't see any make sense why to kill Spotify (or another 3rd application on background) during photography with AI. It looks like a bug or the phone needs more power for AI so just kills all 3rd application (but this is not a solution). So or so it is really annoying for the users.
The only workaround for me is turn off AI during photography.

Turning AI off only works (sometimes) if you take only one shot, if you get 2+ pictures, it always kill the background app. That's why I'm assuming it's related to RAM management, many have already said that the problem lays on Android (Pie) itself, but I'm experience this since Oreo.
I really wish we had an official statement about this.
It's not just the camera app. A self scan supermarket app i use also triggers it. Wish i could get rid of emui 9.
Edit: actually i wonder if it's a sound issue caused by the shutter effect? Cameringo caused the same issues but turning of the shutter sound cured it. Unfortunately doing the same in the Huawei app doesn't help so guess it still has some interaction with the system audio?
check out new update for your Honor 10.
its just 6Mb in size, but third party launcher is no longer killed while using camera.
build number 9.0.0.159 (C636E2R1P12patch02)
edit : nevermind, it is still killed. I was too quick to judge.
