LG G Pad X 8.0 v521 Root Issues - LG G Pad X 8.0 Questions & Answers

I have been trying to root my T-Mobile LG G Pad X 8.0 for the past few days and I keep running into the same problems.
I have unlocked the bootloader and go to flash a KDZ file through the LGUP Software to root but it always gives me an error if I'm flashing any other KDZ except for the Nougat one which installs every time. I have made sure that the bootloader is unlocked, it's on USB file transfer, changed the name of the LGUP_c file and everything. I have no idea what to do; any help would be greatly appreciated!

How to flash an LG C555 (Optimus Chat)?

Hi all,
I have an LG C555 (Optimus Chat) that I need to flash with a "stock" firmware (or any other). How can I do that? How can I get to the bootloader with this Android 2.2 phone? Where can I find firmware files for this phone?
Thank you all for your time,
Regards,
highmighty
No one knows? Bootloader for this LG-C555?
Thanks

lg
get the lg updater software and find the right firmware and you are all set
The LG Updater detects my phone properly and tells me that I'm running the latest (V10D) firmware for this phone. I'd like to reinstall this version V10D of the firmware or even a previous one but I'm unable because I can't choose ANY firmware, I can't "upgrade"
Is there a way I could "break" the internal firmware hoping that the LG Updater would then allow me to install the latest one (V10D) on it?
For your information, my LG-C555 is network unlocked & rooted and currently runs Android 2.2.
Since I need to change the internal firmware I tried Gingerbreak (1.0, 1.1 and 1.2) but none of them seems to work.
I was able of pushing gingerbreak.apk (version 0, 1 and 2) to the /data/app folder with the USB debugging mode ON and I also have inserted a formated/mounted SD card in the phone. Then I installed the .apk normally, the installation started but never ended, it stayed in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... I had to reboot for those 3 attemps
What can I do next?
Thank you for your time,

Help with att lg d631 return to stock

Hi. I'm new to the site. I've used the info from here but never had to ask for help. I have an LG D631 Vista that I rooted several months ago. I would like to uproot it so I can get the lollipop update. I've tried to uproot via online help but haven't had any luck. Now when I try to reroot it says it is rooted but on the phone itself it says its not via software but if I check via the dialer check still says rooted. With the lack of dev support for this phone I'm hoping that someone here might have a kdz file of the stock firmware I can flash back to original. I'm on D63110b. I've tried to reroot and unroot multiple times with no luck. Right now I can use the phone but I can't update nor root to get back the functionality I had. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

H830 Stuck in Firmware Update

Hey XDA, I'm having a bit of a problem. I got my G5 just recently and I wanted to go ahead and unlock the bootloader so I could install some custom ROMS (I'm not a fan of LG's ux), but I ran into a sticky situation. I was trying to flash the TOT file for rooting h830 with LGUP when I found out that it doesn't work on Nougat. I tried to cancel it but now I'm just stuck in firmware update at 0%. The code at the bottom says 633A B50. I can get into fastboot but I can't really go anywhere from there and I've gotten to stock recovery but all it does is factory reset and boot me straight back to firmware update. I downloaded the stock nougat kdz file but LGUP won't flash it; sometimes it says invalid, other times it gives me the error code 0x2000 CEFS::Initialize. This is a brand new (kind of expensive) phone and I can't send it to LG for repairs since I unlocked the bootloader and probably voided warranty so I'm really desperate for a solution. Can anyone help me out?

Was your phone on the 20a version before you tried flashing the 10d root tot file and did you actually cancel the process within LGUP while it was flashing the phone?
Another user had a similar problem but he flashed the 20a version before he accidentally flashed the 10d root tot and he fixed it by just flashing the stock 20a within LGUP.
Assuming you can still get into download mode you should be able to fix your device.
Try flashing this kdz uploaded by @autoprime
downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G5/H830/H83020a/H83020a_00_1107.kdz
If flashing is successful factory reset your phone from the stock recovery after.
Thanks, that worked but I had to do a little tinkering before it did. LGUP wouldn't flash it because it kept saying invalid and some other random reasons but I found a program called uppercut that allowed it to flash. I was able to get back to stock and then I used the dirtycow exploit to flash TWRP. All's good now on XenonHD.
so I thought I had a grasp on the unlocking rooting myself. I was getting the error in lgup where it doesn't recognize my device at all. I unlocked the oem and it did its own flash afterwards then I had to go and reset unknown sources. then I tried to do the lg up flash assuming all I needed from my 20i was the v10d arb01 may 23, I picked the upgrade and in the middle of it it failed. then it rolled back. so I tried it several more times in lgup and it failed so I tried the arb 01 march 4 with full root and it failed.
Edit: okay lI found uppercut and it reconnected me to LGUP then I used the flashable 20a file and that patched me right up. But no root, I can do a 1 click now I guess but what about a flashable twrp or can I just install it like the old cwm or x-parts? where to now? do I try the 10d one with root? I'm really tired of looking and blindly downloading tot and kdz files hoping they work? My main goal is to slap RR remix on this for anyone that would give me a hand

Are you on VZW with a valid SIM card and are you on stock, unrooted and it's not modified? If any of your answers to even one of those questions is a "no" that is why. Considering you're still on Lollipop and MM has been out for a long time, my feeling is you have a modified image of some sort. If you rooted and then just removed root without flashing back to stock, that won't do it. Once rooted, you have modified the system partition of you phone and it will no longer accept OTAs.
If you have reflashed to stock, what did you use? From what I remember, if you used an earlier KDZ image before Marshmallow, there is a particular KDZ image that was based on a pre-release version I believe and it will NOT allow OTAs to come through.
You can always flash the latest MM image via KDZ but it's like a factory reset so back up all data (photos, etc) on your internal memory before you do it.
This thread explains how to flash via KDZ if you don't know how:
