Stock ROM corrupted - where to get it? - Honor 9 Questions & Answers

Hi, a few days back I’ve got new H9 (STF–L09) with build L09C432B100. It's EU version 4/64GB.
Set it up the regular way, than check System update with the build in System updater. It shows no update available.
Thought it’s to early for a new model, so I didn't try anymore.
Yesterday after reboot I've got message ""Your device has failed verification and may not work properly".
Hit the power btn and the phone boot normaly and looks like it's working, but still the same message after each reboot.
Option from the System update - download latest avail. build - isn't working.
Any idea where to get this stock rom or how to fix it?

STF-L09 is still not in Firmware Finder. Better to take your phone to service center and take advantage of the warranty.

OK that I can manage, other than that's gonna take about 2 weeks.
Anyway, what can happen if I just wait for the first official update since the phone looks working normally?

Can you boot into eRecovery and connect to a stable wifi? If yes, you can try to re-flash your stock ROM via eRecovery. It's a full reset of your phone.

Yes, I can boot into eRecovery, phone connecting to a WiFi and trying to download, but after a few second it "failed to getting package info".
Than I have no option but boot via power button and than everything works again.
Where does it trying to get that "package info" from, phone or web ?

eRecovery will retrieve information from internet, HUAWEI server, to download ROM files.
If your wifi is working well, then the reason may be the stock ROM files are not online yet...
You have to wait at this moment or go to a service center... :crying:

Yes, that's what I thought so. I checked with two different wifi with otherwise great signal, 5GHz and 2,4 GHz, same results.
So I'll wait for first OTA update or for the ROM showing up on either FF or eRecovery.
Just hope the phone will manage it till then

Got my Honor 9 today after 3 attempts with the oneplus 5 and just gave up on it fast but not without issues or 3 devices has some problem, so far loving the 9 so sexy I too jumped straight on to firmware finder bus as mentioned no device listed yet keeps defaulting to AL-10,
Even got a pair of Huawei Bluetooth sports headphones free with it the magnetic ones worth £60 nice one honor thumbs up

Can I see the sports headphones you're talking about? I can't seem to find it. I only see the Honor Engine earphones and a bluetooth mono earphone.

Yes I looked at the pro but it was bigger than the oneplus 5 which I found to big one of the reasons I sold it along with all its issues, good riddance I say loving the honor 9[emoji3]

Its picking up every wifi except mine?

Hey guys!
I literally got my Xperia Z ultra today, and apart from the phone factory resetting until i put a sim card in it it was fine, its now up and running, Wifi working at this stage and then i try and update the apps i have pre installed and the wifi cuts out, and it wont pick up it, Itll pick up every other signal apart from mine!
Any one had this issue?

Your Wifi isn't sexy enough for the Z Ultra to notice it.
Hrm... What Z Ultra did you get? Are you running stock or one of the custom ROMS? There is/was an issue with CM builds having wonky Wifi; I don't remember if this issue existed in stock or not.

What rom version are you running? Try forgetting the network and reconnect.

Its the LTE model, I put my sim card in, and now wifi is working ? strange
Also, when I turn off the device and turn it back on it kind of hangs on a lit up blank screen before going onto xperia and then the boot animation, shouldnt it say SONY instead?

Yeah, it should say Sony. Connect it to Sony PC Companion (on your computer) and repair it from there.

If you want root, do it from 536 or whatever it is and root from there. If not it's worth going to 290.

Ah, okay. I don't know if this is correct, but last time i used PCC and updated, it said that the repair button had been activated, so i'm not sure if you have to have a FTF file (firmware) downloaded and copied to the right directory before it works, but you don't want to update quite yet, so i'm not really sure how to get that button without updating.
But just wait and don't do anything yet. I bet @Reb0rn or @hamdogg knows a lot more about PCC than i do

Is there any way to create keyboard shortcuts? Like I type in [email protected] and it would automatically change that to my email address? I can see how to add words to the dictionary, but not to make shortcuts.
How does the battery in the cam plus module work? Ive seen reports saying it doesnt work except when using the camera? Why would this be? Also tk bay said ipyou can not charge your phone with the cam plus module on? How dumb could lg be?

Got another one: Can you disable the "Beauty Mode" on the front facing camera permanently? I want the slider to always be at 0. Really, really annoying for people who have freckles or stubble.

The CamPlus Module is specifically meant to be used with the Camera App on the phone. There is a switch on the module that allows quick access to the Camera app. There's a Shutter Button, as well as button for taking videos.
You can charge the phone with the Module installed. The module has it's own battery and I've discovered that the module may charge the phone momentarily. With the Cam Plus Module installed on my G5, with a solid LTE Signal, I can get close to 15 hours of use in a day.

2. When im trying launch recovery with hardware keys it asks if its ok to wipe everything- this is the way to recovery?
3. The fingerpring sensor sometimes not responding at all even when the display turned on.

1) Nope, i'm using Chrome dev and is smooth
2) Yes, lg's stock recovery only performs the hard reset, and it's the same on the other LG devices.
3) No problem with the fingerprint scanner, maybe a faulty device? Try to unlock the screen 4-5 times with the fingerprint and check if it works correctly

If it's so rare then there is no reason to worry about, it could just be a "stability" problem of the "young" software, or it's just you that put your finger in a wrong way, maybe Try to re-add the fingerprint or to add another one and See if things are different

The problem isnt that the finger isnt recognized , its like the sensor doesnt recognize the touch

The touch? You mean that if sometimes if you put your finger in the sensor the phone doesn't viber (which means wrong fingerprint) and no led appears? Well, that is sue strange, never happened to me, but still if it's so rare probably there is no need to worry about, if the problem get worse then it could be an hardware issue

Has any experienced mediocre Wi-Fi speeds? On my AT&T G5 I'm getting 18Mbps down and 6Mbps up compared to 48Mbps down and 6Mbps up on my Nexus 6 on a speed test at home. At work I get 110 down and 80 up on my G5, my Nexus 6 will get 240 down and 105 up. It's basically half of what my Nexus 6 will get on average. Anyone know what I need to do? Some weird setting I need to change?

Bootloop after N930FXXU1BPH6 software update (August 11 build date, 1 August security patch).
Missing Blue light filter toggle icon after update.

Service Centre reflash ROM but problem is occur.
1 to 1 exchange need more than 1 week due to insufficient stock for exchange
My Note7 from Singtel has 2 stuck/dead pixels, waiting on a replacement confirmation from them. Other then that I didn't noticed anything else yet.
freeze and bootloop, frequently requiring a simulated battery pull. Starhub set, updated firmware.
Went to samsung and they reflashed my firmware, things were fine for about 6 hours before the freezing occurred again, and it got progressively worse till now my phone can't even be used.
looks more like exynos batch problem , havent heard much on the SD variant , but SG doesnt have an SD variant. was about to buy this week . seeing all the issues will wait for a while .. but sad to see many excited people pre order to get handset before others and now sitting in Service centre...

The one I'm purchasing is apparently from Singapore - reconsidering getting this one for another country :/ (Is it limited to just this country or are other International ones experiencing the same issues?)

What we have **here in the Philippines is either yellowish or purplish tint on the display. Other than that, people not securing their Notes on the VR mount and have it crash on the floor and pushing the IP68 certification then blame faulty hardware after water damage. ???

Confirm Malaysian set has freezes/reboots..firmware BPH6. There's no discernible cause..happens in various apps.
Are we likely to see the Blue Coral colour come to SG? Waiting to recontract on Singtel to the Note7 but with all these problems...

So any idea how to fix this?

My replacement note 7 has dust underneath the glass. Going to Samsung Service Center.
4G LTE signal?
Is anyone using this phone for MetroPCS? I have tried several different APN settings for an LTE signal and not capable of receiving one... Only 4G icon is displayed at all times. Is anyone having this issue in the US?

Scrolling delay?

I bought a STF-L09 a couple of days ago. I updated it to B130 straight away as there was an update available. But I have noticed I have a weird scrolling delay on my phone. I need to swipe about 5mm before the content starts moving. Everywhere, no matter how slow or fast I swipe. To taps it reacts instantly so it's not just the digitizer that lags or something. When I try other Honor 9's in stores they all scroll instantly like I expect a phone to do. Though they are all on earlier firmware (B100) and mine is on B130 so I can't tell if it's an update that has done this or not. I need to know before sending it in for service if it's some kind of weird hardware fault.
Can other please check the video I have posted about the issue and see if it's like that for you too on latest firmware? Prefarably same model and firmware.

I experience the same behavior since day 1, also after updating to B130. I'm coming from a Nexus 5 and I love the Honor 9, but the scrolling experience was definitely better on the Nexus 5. I'd say it has nothing to do with the update nor with your device, it seems it behaves like this when scrolling.
B130 is causing different issues.
Honor needs to update the honor 9 ASAP
Thanks for confirmation now I know it's just not my phone that has some hardware fault. Yes, they need to fix this in an update. It makes the phone feel way less responsive than it really it.
It is a software issue, it used to be good when it was on b100
There isn't a way to roll back to B100, right?

Well that sucks we really need one. Otherwise hope they will pump out an update soon that corrects this. It makes the phone feel so slow.

I need to know before sending it in for service if it's some kind of weird hardware fault.
Can other please check the video I have posted about the issue and see if it's like that for you too on latest firmware? Prefarably same model and firmware.

I believe this is not a hardware problem. Because of two reasons:
1. I have the same problem with scrolling delay. Because of this I sent my Honor 9 for service. According to what they did with the phone, they calibrated the "touch function" with Huawei diagnostic tool. Still when I got it back the problem is still there.
2. Under development tools try to active "Pointer Location". Then try slowly to scroll screen. You will see the screen is registering your touch very good. Ie you will see a line before scrolling begins.
I had this problem since b130. Now I run b150. Unfortunately I don't remember if problem was there in b100.
I hope this will be fixed soon with firmware update.

Question Fingerprint problem

Regards to all. I have a problem with the fingerprint sensor, it stopped working and I don't have any settings at all. Did anyone else have this problem and is there a solution?

I have the same problem, in my case the button stops working, I have to send back the phone for service to fix of this button

I do think is a software issuse, i heard a bunch of people are having thia problem where it " suddenly" stopped working. And since the fingerpint option is missing in the settings, it's definitely sofrware isssue.
It's not software issue,fingerprint sensor is junk on this model.It's broken on mine Mi 11 Lite 5g two months after I bought it.Flashing other or older MIUI roms won't help,service is the only solution...
wait maybe the new update will solve the issue miui 12.5.6.0, should be available very soon.

Yes,they told me that they had ordered a new part and that I had to wait and after 15-20 days they said they couldn't fix it and get a new phone. I didn't want Xiaomi this time so I replaced it with a Samsung a52s which is even cheaper in my country.I'm really disappointed in Xiaomi quality control and I don’t want to pay 400 euros for a phone that incorporates second-class components.Sorry on my bad english,I hope you understand me

I really hope it's a software issue... because this morning I cleaned ui system data and loauncher data and it went back to work for some minutes, then it stopped again... I have no clue,, i'll try to downgrade my MIUI and see if i can fix the problem.. i bought this phone in another country so i have no way to take it back or change it, i have EU warranty so it should work in my country too... thank you so much ♥

Be careful with 12.5.5. Looks like that one breaks fingerprint scanner.
I'm in UK and no 12.5.5 OTA. Interesting. Waiting for Enhanced anyway

Hopefully before EOY.
Little Update: i changed 3 or 4 times MIUI version with older versions (12.5.1 EU and GLOBAL, 12.5.3 EU and GLOBAL), and fingerprint issue was not fixed, so is definitly an hardware problem and changing MIUI is just losing time. I took the phone to the customer care and they are sending it to Milan (i'm in italy) to fix it, and they told me that it will take 12-14 days.
Sorry for my bad english, I hope it can help someone!
It's weird, I don't own this brand anymore but I still visit forums related to it and it's mostly about problems My first Xiaomi phone was a Redmi note 5 pro and after that A2. They were cheap and worked well. Instead of Xiaomi correct mistakes and improve quality, they increase prices, and the "quality" of components remains the same (or worse), and the software may be better but still lags behind the competition. I don't know what else to write, I am very disappointed ...

I thought that it was an issue with Miui (again...), but sadly no ....
I think i will send it to repair center, and i will sell it for something else like A52s. No more Xiaomi
