Best third party Turbo Charger compatible USB Data Cables for Moto G4 Plus - Moto G4 Plus Accessories

Friends, the stock cable provided worked fine for me for 8 months and then it began twitching, I am looking for an alternative which is fully compatible with the Turbo Charger. I hope this thread will be approved. Thanks.

I would recommend you buy the Anker PowerLine Micro USB with Aramid Fiber.
This cable has charged various of my devices (all with fast/turbo charging) since almost two years. I use the Moto usb only for data transfer or when i need to use fastboot.

Turbo charging doesn't depend on your cable( unless you have a cable sitting around for decades ). Although you would not get the turbo charging notification still you can get the same milliamps. Use an app like ampere to measure that. I use personally use redmi note 4 charger cable and it also turbo charges.

Cable matters, tested many of them and not all of them can provide QC. Have positive experience with Aukey and its subbrand CRDC (even preferrable, as you will get same quality with lower price)
Use this one (really two QC3 ports, but a bit large one)

Quick charge requires a thin and a good conductive wire I hope ,I hope the official one should work just fine.

Check the capacity of the chargers.
The original M-charger has a capacity of 1,6 A at 5V. You can use any charger with at least that capacity.

Thanks. However, i also wanted to know the experience of existing users with these chargers, including power issues etc. I think I saw somewhere that the micro USB side of a quick charger melted when it was kept on in the power socket?

Get the Aukey one, it has a really really good review rate at Amazon. It also should come with a cable so you shouldn't be worried about that one.

I prefer wireless charging for my N4 and N6.
I am using cheap QI-chargers on several places. The QI-pads can be used with almost any USB charger. Of course wireless charging is slow.
I'm thinking of going with the Tronsmart WC1Q as it is cheap and has good Amazon reviews. I'm not really technical when it comes to chargers. This is the technical info: 5V/2.1A 9V/2A 12V/1.5A. Can anyone confirm if the power details of this charger will be fine with Nexus 6?

I recommend the aukey as well, I used it for my moto x 2nd gen and now my Nexus 6.
I got a Aukey one, and it's really great
In my experience and from others Anker makes good products might want to check into them. And a good charging cable is just as important.

I have an Aukey and a Tronsmart. Both work well. Strangely enough, the quality of your USB cable also appears to play a legitimate role in whether Quick Charge2.0 is consistently recognized and used. In other words, high quality charger AND high quality cable is recommended!
just want to ask if there is any correlation between using QC chargers & getting a bloated battery?

Most important is the 5V/2.1A. This is better than the original Motorola charger I have.
The other values are for Quick charging.
Also better than the original charger.
But I don't know if this Tronsmart is compatible with the quick charging mode of Motorola.

Not at all... the phone is made to be compatible with QC. You can even use the QC charger with a phone that doesn't support it, what will happen is that the charger won't activate the QC and just charge at normal speed.

As long as it is Qualcomm 2.0 Certified it is supposed to work. Motorola's "turbo charge" is just a rebranded Qualcomm 2.0 Quick Charge.
I have just tried the Aukey in your list with my N6 and it did not work as a fast charger even tough the specs of the charger says so. to get the N6 to charge at QC2 you will need a charger with 9V 2A or at least 1.6A to reach approximately 14.4 watt.
many chargers do have the said specs but they won't recognize the N6 as a fast charging phone unfortunately. meanwhile still searching

Sent from my HUAWEI NXT-L29 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I use this one and it works perfectly for me. It has an LED that changes color depending on whether it is in normal charging or fast charging mode. Unfortunately, I don't think it is on your list.
Fred
I am getting a kind of a weird experience this end. I use my Huawei quick charger of the mate 8, and it is only recognized by the Motorola Nexus 6 as a fast charger after I reboot the mobile then it starts charging at 9.15 V and 1.36 Amps. it does fast charge at this volt and amps at highs of 2240 mAps on Ampere application !!
I could not figure out another way to get the charger to recognize the Nexus 6 as a fast charging phone except by rebooting, and still working on it. in the meantime I have ordered a Choetech QC 3.0 and waiting for arrival. my question does this happen on your chargers or does it connect directly to 9V when connected to chargers like Aukey, Tronsmart, Anker etc. ??
Guys, is it normal that the phone get heated like an iron box when charging ? ( Well I noted that this happens only if my battery is below 50-60% ) Using Stock charger. Same happens (heating, but temperature is lower than before) even when I use One+ charger.

quick charge cable

Hi there. I just got lg g5 and straight away I bought 2 USB c cables so I can use my other charger at work for instance and keep original at home. I tried new cables on original charger however they are not fast charging, only charging according to info from the phone screen. Can you guys please advice what cables i have to buy to be able to fast charge with original charger? When I search on websites for USB c cables there is no description of the at capable to charge fast. I also have aukey quick charge 2.0 charger and wonder if I can use it with lg g5 to get a fast charge. Thanks in advance

Depends on region/software version too. My extra cables worked fine for fastcharge until I updated, after that only the original cable would still do it. It's been mentioned a few times already too, looks like some of the updates block 3rd party cables from being able to use fastcharge.

Well I called LG in my country and after the second call and 4 days of waiting they told me that they're "not aware of any changes made to inhibit the use of 3rd party cables" ... they completely ignored the fact that users both here and on local Android/phone forums reported the same thing.
So yes, it is complete BS ... but since fastcharge is supposed to be detrimental to the life of the battery anyway I'm not too fussed about it any more. I got myself a small charging dock that's hooked up to the USB on my PC - while wayyyyyyy slower than even regular charge it at least gives me easy access to my phone, and if I leave it connected whenever I'm at home the battery doesn't discharge too much and I can live without fastcharge

I'm actually running CM13 now but it never occured to me to try it again with the other cable. Next charging cycle I'll give it another go
I'm not really sure which regions are affected ... a quick glance over the posts I made regarding this seems to have mostly europeans with the problem, but I can't say for sure.
Fast charging should not depend on cable, unless the cable is very poor quality with high series resistance.
I have 2 QC 2.0 chargers from Choetech and Tronsmart. I also have several usb c cables from Yozoon and Choetech. They all fast charges the phone just fine.
As for the usb-c cables buy only from name brands, and you need to confirm that they include the 56k resistor included for device protection.

I confirm that it's complete chaos in regards to chargers, cables and Fast Charging.
I bought a Tronsmart WC1T charger, it won't fast charge with the included cable, but it does that with a Vetter cable. A colleague has an Ankey charger and some other cable, my phone does not fastcharge with that combination, only with a different cable. These are both QC 3.0 chargers.
Supposedly, the cables should not matter, but it's not true.
Anyone purchased a 3 meter cable in the UK that will fast charge (tested with a meter 17-18 watt) an LG G5 (h850 or h830 etc), if so please let me know the manufacturer of the cable? a link would also be helpful.
It sounds insane but on some ocasions fast charge has only work for me by trying different sides of the usb head (as in flipping it over) with several different cables and phones.
Maybe its all a fairytail but it works :cyclops:
These cables (even the 3 meters one) fast charge the LG G5 H830 in stock and in recovery mode for Lineage os 14 (tested with original charger).
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B074MPN333/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought a Sony QC 3 charger and cable, didn't fast charge, it did though with my LG cable. The company sent two more cables, none of them fast charged. I then bought a 3 pack of Aukey cables (very nicely braided finish, solid connectors and 56k ohm resistor) the Sony charger, fast charges with them. And no I don't work for Aukey, just a sad man that appreciates a nice cable, lol.

Personally tested this charger does not back charge my car when off like some of the tested/ recommended car chargers have been found to do, including Belkin, tronsmart and visnic.
I bought one of these Aukey units but haven't tried with Ampere. <Tested: it delivers 2000ma from both ports to the pixel. Stock wall charger delivers 3000ma.> I've used it with the Pixel, Nexus 5X, LG G4 and Droid Maxx. All of them charge fast. Even the MAXX which isn't a Quickcharge phone charges quite quickly. It has a Fast charge port and a Quickcharge 3.0 port that is backward compatible. All these phones have roughly 3Ah batteries. The Pixel and 5X are type C. The G4 has Quickcharge 2.0 hardware but I don't know if the firmware was ever updated to accept more than Quickcharge 1.0.
https://www.amazon.com/Aukey-CC-T7-...838012&sr=8-2&keywords=aukey+quick+charge+3.0
Anyway, seems quality and beats all the typical 250ma car chargers that can't even keep up with google maps usage.
bump still working great and still on sale $5 shipped.
I wish I had any idea how to determine if a charger was "safe" without just looking at a list of approved chargers

Magnetic charger

Are there any magnetic chargers that will support dash charging? I want to keep from damaging the USB-C port for as long as possible.
There's not one available.
I have a magnetic charger and when used with the OEM charger, the cable heats up to the point of almost burning my fingers.

You can use the magnetic charger with a quick charge charger or any other charger and it will be fine.
I'm using a Samsung Fast Charger and have no issues, the device still charges full overnight and it's pretty quick, just not as quick as the OEM set up.
Ok I still have a quick charger from my Nexus 6, but don't know how it has scaled throughout the years in terms of what's considered "quick".
I used more then one year magnetic cable from Wsken on OP 5T. It has only charge, no data. And I have no issue, heating, damages. But in this case I don't have a supercharge. I have charge current about 1.3- 1.4 ampers.

If you use just the cable and not the OEM block it doesn't cause heating issues, I get heating issues if I use the OEM block with the wsken cable. It happens periodically so not sure what causes it.
If you use the Wsken mini2 +j OnePlus cable + wsken adapter dash charge will work. So will data transmission.
I'm using the PZOZ ones I got off AliExpress, link. I have them from my LG V20 days, and no issues with it - using the same cables across my mouse, portable battery, ipad, and phone.
They have an upgraded version here, but I have not needed them yet as the current ones charges my 6T as quick as it should.

well, i don't have any exact specs or accurate data, all the specs i have are as per the weblink. the new version supports up to 5A. for me, the older version which i have supports up to 2.1A i think but works well for me. no fires or any hazards so far.
I don't think there is a dash charge wireless. All wireless chargers are slow, for now..

Question Charging woes

Help,
I have tried 3 different chargers (1 generic Anker, 1 supplied with Huawei P30 pro, and one supplied with Huawei mediapad tablet. none work
Nor does plugging into USB port on PC. I have tried various different cables to no avail. All cables work to charge P30 pro from its own charger @40 watts.
All chargers and USB port will charge the P30 pro
The only way I can get any juice at all into this bugger is by charging from the P30 pro directly.
I also noticed that the security update that installed last night took forever (roughly 4 hours) during 'optimising apps' phase.
Have tried factory reset too
I think I've got a dud

It sure sounds that way.

Mine wouldn't even charge when the phone was off. it would show the battery symbol with 'lightning' but wouldnt actually charge - you could see the battery level drop in this state
Google are not being helpful about getting a replacement or even admitting there's a fault yet. I might just send it back and get a refund

I've figured out the problem. I have the P30 Pro charger and two Samsung chargers which are all USB A. None of them worked. What did work was a Huawei laptop USB C charger. It seems from reading elsewhere there's a good chance that USB A chargers won't work with the Pixel.
I thought Google hadn't included a charger with the Pixel for environmental reasons. Seems like many people will be forced to buy a new charger for their Pixel, thus defeating the point.

Blimey, that works. I'm a little annoyed I can't just plug it into my PC and slowly charge it overnight. but this saves the hassle of dealing with Googles useless support. Indeed the 'help article' I was directed to says to plug it into a PC as part of the fault finding.
Will anyone else's Pixel 6 (non pro) charge from PC USB connection??

It was probably a huge mistake for them to not include a charger with it.
yes, your charger needs to support PD 3.0 PPS charging to get the fastest charging possible on the pixels

Don't believe buddy above. This is not normal. Every phone I've ever had with usb-c works with a usb-a to usb-c cable. It charges and transfers data just fine. I also use one on my car stereo to phone for Android auto. Your phone is a dud. Get a replacement.

The guy above didn't say it wouldn't charge at all with a regular charger or wire. He said for ***fastest charging possible*** you need PD3.

There is more than one guy above. The one I am referring to is quoted above for your viewing pleasure.
Hi, just to confirm, my Pixel 6 will only charge from USB-C charger. I was hoping if someone could confirm whetehr theirs charges from a PC with USB-A to USB-C cable.
I admit it doesn't sound right that this won't work
Thanks

Mine charges without any issue at a PC with USB-A to USB-C cable from Anker.

Mine does fast charge from the laptop USB-C connector, or even directly from the laptop power brick. The laptop is an Asus rog x 13 flow. If I am not wrong, in order to fast charge, your source has to support usb pd pps.
I'm sitting at work and my P6 charges just fine with a wall wart and a USB-A to USB-C cord. Not only that, but it's an LG wall wart that I have probably had since my LG G3 days (a long, long time ago). So even old power supplies will work.
If your phone isn't charging from a computer USB port, I suspect it is because of the amount of power being supplied by the laptop over the USB port. It's not a built in limitation of the phone however.

what should I see under battery settings?
I see charging rapidly with my 30W charger. The Anker charger reads PPS but I am not entirely sure it's PD 3.
thanks!

PPS is a standard that started with pd 3.0. Your charger is the correct one for fast charging.
so do we have any charger recommendations? the 3 i tried, after processing through AMERE, they are topping out at 15w-18w...
I just posted about one I think should work in another thread, should find out soon if I was right lol
