Right now when the phone boots up, the first screen has the b/w image that says : Samsung GT I5800. This is followed by the custom boot animation that I've set. Now how do I change this boot logo?

The boot logo is a part of the bootloader...
Dont even try changing it..You will hardbrick your phone...
But I saw this post on Samdroid forums, a how-to for creating custom bootlogos for Samsung Spica

There should be a way to do the same in Galaxy 3, right?

Looks like it should work...but who is willing to take the risk of bricking the phone??
Edit - I am not completely sure about bricking, maybe some more experienced developer can help you out..
Humpff... Kyrillos keeps attaching this "logos.png" file to all his releases. Unfortunately, they never show up. I wish someone could help me out here.

To flash a custom logo you have to include bootloader in the package. Before flashing anything CHECK THE LOGO SIZE and properties. Then you could flash the bootloader.

AFAIK this method wont work straightway on g3
The image is included in the bootloader and improper modding could lead to serious damaga(hard brick-can be saved only by warranty)
so better be satisfied with what it is and use/make a custom bootanimation instead with a custom boot sound to enjoy it more

logo.png is present in all stock roms
some roms makers remove some keep
EDIT: if someone properly mods the logo,png(size as of original/like in that tutorial) and if we use a modded bootloader then maybe we can use custom splash screens

Works only stock rom.

Boot Logo is Great But bootanimation is not changed .. i think you shoud make them two instead of one so we cam choose .....

But I 've done it .
The bootanimation is with bootlogo . Both are installed together in the zip.

I'll add the version to restore the original file soon.
I went by and converted the video animation to image files for it to work on any custom rom, and stock.

The 720p Bootlogo is in the MotoG thread by the OP.
Tested the 1080p on my OPO and the 720p version on my MOTO G (2013) and they both work fine. I'll try and upload a flashable zip later on.

I flashed the boot animation on my XT1093 running MM and the "bouncing color balls" and the "G" at the end fill the whole screen.... (Something wrong with the scale?)

I have the same issue...
Any idea how to add ok google sound with it ??
Could someone fix the problem of bootanimation? I can not find any animation that matches the bootlogo.
I use ResurrectionRemix 5.8.0 (Nougat 7.1.1) and I had no problems with Logo/bootanimation made by thewerthon, they look great!
The only thing I'd like is to get them in true black background.
I'd be awesome, since I already patched the whole interface with SwiftBlack Theme+Substratum.

Resolution: 1920x270 [will apprear as 1920x1080, 1080p]
Framerate: 60fps and 45fps
duration: ~16seconds
SPOILER
There may be some sluttering in the begining of the animation (Hardly noticeable) which im looking forward to fix in the future
This animation can be flashed in phones with 1080p resolution and above without any issues. Phones with 720p resolution will suffer zoomed in effect because of the original resolution

HOW TO INSTALL:
FLASHABLE ZIP METHORD
Download the zip into phone
Reboot to recovery
Flash the zip file
Reboot Phone
MANUAL METHORD
Download the bootanimation60fps_replace.zip file
rename bootanimation60fps_replace.zip into bootanimation.zip
copy the file to root/system/media
replace bootanimation with the new one
give the file permissions (rw-r-r-) (644)
Reboot the phone
if anything goes wrong flash thestock bootanimation.zipfile so you can get the oxygen back

The video only shows the beta version of the animation. I reanimated it after that and as far as I can tell it's hardly noticeable even in 60fps.

There are some stutters at the beginning and at the end but nothing to be worried about.
My phone is now a complete blend of pixel and oxygen!
