Does the Galaxy Tab S3 support Miracast or some form of screen mirroring? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

I don't own a Tab S3 yet but I am considering buying one.
One of the required features on my list is the capability to wirelessly "mirror" or "cast" the display of my tablet onto a TV screen or projector.
Does the Tab S3 have this feature and does it work properly? (provided that the wireless network is decent)

Yes, you can cast your sceen using the Google Home app and a chromecast plugged into your TV. It works great with very little lag if any.

Thanks. I was actually looking for a solution that doesn't require an additional device. (I don't have a chromecast device and its not easy for me to get one)

Allshare Cast & Share Shot

Hi,
I just want to understand how Allshare Cast and Share Shot are used. These features are not described fully anywhere. At least, I couldn't find a good source.
My first question is about Screen Sharing with Allshare Cast:
How can I share my S3 screen to other devices ? Which devices support receiving of S3 screen from Allshare Cast ?
Can I share screen of an S3 to another S3 ?
What about Samsung D series TV ? Can we share S3 screen to D series TV ?
the other question is about Share Shot:
I can successfully share shot from one S3 to another S3. The photo taken, goes to the other S3 quickly.
However, one of my colleagues told me that the camera screen could also be shared live to the other S3. Is that possible ? How ?
Thanks.
does anyone have any knowledge about this ?
allshare cast
hi
allshare cast is for a new samsung dongle like apples airplay
its a little gadget that have hdmi out to put in tv
you pair your phone with it and then you can stream sound/pictures/video
up to 1080p
allshare shot is what i think a way of sharing photos to allshare capable devices
like phones and tablets
spillyft
yes I know that but allshare cast works on new generation Samsung TVs without a need for any dongle.
I just wonder if it would be possible to do it on older TV ?
As i know its from gen8 tv and up

I am currently waiting for my AllShare Cast Dongle (will be out end of August over here in Asia as per supplier).
You can use the AllShare Cast Dongle, as I understood, with any TV with HDMI in and it will support in addition to the usual Photo & Video sharing via e.g. your Samsung Smart TV also screen mirroring. (see also: http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/allshare-cast-wireless-streaming-dongle-samsung-galaxy-s-iii/).
Allshare works with my WDTV Live, not with Netgear Entertainer though.

I have a WiFi dongle(came free with the t.v.) and a 5 series smart tv. I am able to stream videos and pictures but not able to share my screen on tv.
Any solution ?

As far as I know this is only possible with the AllShare Cast Dongle
it's too bad that older generation TVs do not support Allshare Cast / Allshare Play.
Especially when D series is just model of 2011.
what about sharing screen between 2 S3 ?

Allshare Cast is a program that will run on the phone and push the screen of the phone to Samsung SmartTV's when it's released. The dongle is a separate piece of hardware used for non-Samsung tv's to do the same thing. Since I can't post links yet Samsung's global page shows how they both work and the Allshare Cast is listed as "Will be available soon."
anything new about this ?

[Q] Allshare cast without dongle

Hello, I have samsung i9300 s3 , n8000 note 10.1 and samsung smart tv 55es8000.In addition I don't have allshare cast dongle.
I can sync between TV and s3,note 10.1 (allshare play, it works)
But, allshare cast doesn't work. İf TV Samsung smart tv ,alshare cast dongle which costs 100 $ still necessary?
Don't read specs of your tv, but the es5700 does not support all share cast. So check your rv specs. If not supported you need the dongle.
Also maybe interesting: I read in other forum that the i9300 will only display 720p with the dongle due to ram limitation. That came directly from samsung support. Actually note2 and s3lte should be the only devices playing full hd with the dongle.
Maybe samsung already changed this behaviour via firmware... dont know

hmm.. read a bit in other forums... seems that even samsung gives different answers.
Actually it seems that all tv's don't support all net cast without dongle.
But if you tv has wifi n standart and it could be that samsung sometimes enables all share cast on your tv via update.
Haven't found anybody who get all share cast working without donge. even on samsung top models.
I guess they simply haven't activated this feature until today.
The "alowed shared devices" are those devices that alre allowed to stream videos via all share play to you tv.
The difference is that all share cast, completely clone your desktop to tv, while all net play just send the media you're watching like video, photo etc. Check your default video player while watching video. You'll habe a "share symbol" on the uper right corner.
Press it and you stream the video to your tv.
Hope samsung will activate the all share cast on tv that support wifi n

[Q] [Question] Chromecast Mirroring

Hey Guys,
Im using a tab pro 12.2 and running stock rooted deodexed, and Im wondering if I buy the chromecast dongle - will I be able to mirror my device straight to the screen (I want to mirror custom videos not through youtube etc) with mxplayer pro. My TV doesnt have any sort of wifi, but it does have a hdmi slot - hence going with chromecast.
Pixel
Yes there are ways to do this
The TV doesn't need WiFi, just your home and device (tablet, phone, PC)
I can only cast screen natively from my nexus devices or PC but there are apps that allow for this
Check the Chromecast threads for more info
Oh, and the best $35 I ever spent, over a year now and still use it daily
Ok thanks, didnt realise there was a specific chromecast forums

How is Mirroring Treated by the Newer Android versions from 5 up?

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 P5113 that originally had Android 4.1.1, which doesn't have mirroring. I also have a Tab 4 with KitKat that has mirroring and works wonderfully well on my TVs.
I rooted the Tab 2 and installed Marshmallow and I don't find a mirroring button on MM (It does have a cast button, but the cast can't connect to anything). I have downloaded Miracast display, Mirroring 360 Sender, All Screen, Samsung TV Media, AnDLNA and Allcast, and none of them have the simple mirroring that works very well on the Tab 4--ie, whatever is on the screen of the Tab 4 mirrors to the various smart TVs I have that are about 2 years old. I will add that AllCast, for example, recognizes my Viera TV but won't mirror to it. (I suppose it could play video files that would be on my TAB, but I want to see my Tab 2 screen, whatever it is with some program or ROM. Which seems to mean KitKat mirroring to me so far.)
So, my question is whether my TAB 4 type mirroring will work on MM or whether I have to revert back to KitKat or possibly Lollipop to get the mirroring.

Android One phones incompatible with Samsung smart TV ?

Hi guys, I have tested 2 phones - one HTC and another Xiaomi running Android One up-to-date OS. Both devices are not able to find Samsung Q60 Smart TV when trying to screen cast. All the devices (phones and TV) are connected to the same WiFi network and are fully updated to the latest versions of software.
The TV is working perfectly though with Huawei running with Android 10. Also the HTC and Xiaomi are able to screen cast on Sony Smart TV. So it looks like Android One is not compatible with Samsung Q60 series smart TV, is that right ? And is there anything I can do to resolve this issue, except buying another phone/TV ?
As far as I understood from forums.androidcentral.com - Samsung Smart TVs require the device to use AllShareCast, WiDi, or Miracast to do Screen Mirroring. Android One phones run "stock" Android, which I don't think supports any of those. Is there a way to modify some system settings to change the way it is screen casting??
