Thanks for the great summary! Are any of these daily driver material? I've only just unlocked my bootloader and am tempted, but if we're getting the official version soon I may just hold on to stock for now.

My friend who is using my xda acc will try to build AOSP 8.0 with 7.1 sources today. bu i don't think it will work xD
Heyyo, I'm sure work will begin for Oreo but tbh I don't think major work will happen until LineageOS or another custom ROM have made implementations of it. Still, looking forward to seeing what they can pull off

Well, we don't have any stable bug free 7 itself. Thinking about 8 is little higher.

Probably when LineageOS 15 is up, the other ROMs based on LineageOS will be at 8.0
Now to the other roms, they have to update themselves to 8.0 (for example CAF or AOSP)
Anyways, don't expect this soon
Awesome news. Thanks to all developers
But...

Just because other devices run Oreo doesn't mean other devices will get it quick.
let us all appreciate all the work bruno martins (bgcmgm) has done for our device...
lineageos 14 works amazingly well and lineageos15 is in works and will be ready ......
atleast we will get updates for los14 until a usable version of los15 is released...
But how are AOSP roms doing?
Looks like mi5s and plus have got Oreo too even though their user base is smaller ...

Lineage OS 14.1 or RR 6.0?

Which one is the best? I'm actually using Lineage OS 14.1 and I'm thinking non switching to RR 6.0, it is.worth?
It depends on the reason you are looking for to switch. Do you want really want oreo features? Official lineage os is quite stable, frequently updated
Rr has few bugs, but has custom features.
Lineage OS 15.1 is official.
First build will be shipped either Monday or Tuesday.

I noticed that in Lineage 14.1, the fingerprint scanner is a lot slower than stock rom, its still working but not the same as the stock rom, is this an issue for every custom rom? Also, it doesn't say if the battery is quick charging, and theres no option if its on/off, does this happens on RR?

I reinstalled the ROM and used different GApps, this time Full instead of Stock, the camera is not the google camera but its working well
In my view
I think RR rom is the best rom for customisation at all. But I tried some Oreo rom and I found them a little bit unstable. Another thing that I hate is the presence of some bugs. I will move to Oreo only when all will run perfectly

Chances of Resurrection Remix 6.1.0 - Tenderloin?

Hi guys,
With all the great work going into the Oreo roms lately, for our Touchpad. Wondered if you guys would turn your skills towards another fine rom...
Resurrection Remix 6.1.0, which I see is out for other devices and based on Oreo build...

@liamtw22, started work on the previous Nougat version.... 5.8.5 here but due to other commitments (understandable), wasn't able to complete/finish it, and just needed to get it to boot.
With WilliamBellavanceJr compiling DU Oreo for the Touchpad, and @flintman compiling Evervolv Oreo roms for us... :good::good:
Would be brilliant to see an up to date version of RR Oreo for our Touchpads, if possible....??
Cheers, Lister
