Switching from Moto X Pure Edition? (Karbon backing case) - OnePlus 5 Accessories

Hello XDA users:
The Karbon back cover (not the bumper case), is a delight when using the OnePlus 5.
It reminded me of that Moto X pure feeling; maybe it's just me, but the only thing needed to get that perfect experience is to have microSD expansion.
Go Karbon for back cover. It wil not be a dissapointment.

[Q] x1 cases that fit x2?

so i was wondering if all x1 cases will fit the x2 cause i work at best buy and i want to use the platinum case we sell there its similar to the otter defender
I don't know about that case, but Incipio has a great X1 case that also fits the X2, except a cutout for a camera button that is useless on the X2.

I have an otterbox defender case for Droid X that fits my X2 like a glove; just ignore the X's camera button bump
the X and X2 are essentially the same box. the only difference between the actual cases is the camera button that is on the X and not the X2
I just realized 2 (soon to be 3) of the cases I own are X cases. You'll be fine. Amazon has X cases on the cheap so go for those rather than the slightly more expensive X2 cases.
All should fit. You will just have a hole on the side where the camera button is on the X1.

I think the dimensions of the phones are identical I have a gel case for mine that is for the X and like everyone else here it fits perfectly it just has a small area on the right side that is designed for the camera button.
Also, I used to work at Best Buy, just open one up and see if it fits....

Incipio Faxion

I just purchased the Faxion for the DNA and should be arriving late this week. Because it's newer than the dual pro or feather, I was unable to find pictures or reviews of them on a dna. Anyone have the faxion for this phone? I bought mine in black and decided on it rather than the dual pro because it's supposed to be a bit slimmer and narrower. But my wife has the dual pro for her SG3 and looks to be excellent quality so I'm hoping I like the faxion purchase I made sight unseen.
Where'd you order it from?
It's on the Incipio website but I searched on amazon and found it there as well for $28.99 + $2.97 shipping, so I ordered it from there.
Mind making a little review of the case for us? or just give us some insight about the case since you physically have it? Way better than looking at pictures.

I like the look of this case a lot. It looks like it will protect well enough for my needs while still being fairly thin.
Is there anyway the back status light is still going to be visible? That might be the deciding factor for me.

Unless you drill a hole in it, no.
But I think that literally 1 case has a hole for it, so I don't think you'll have much of a choice.

I might pick one up...my Diztronic is starting to annoy me.
Curious to see how you guys like it...not sure i would like the glossy case exterior... but we'll see.
The dual pro cases are very good, had one for my Gnexus and other older phones before.

I just received mine and I have to say it makes it look really nice, its still slim and keeps its curves while adding good protection (I got the grey/yellow one). The only complaint I have is that it is a little slick in the hand, but not too bad. I would take pictures but, I don't have my camera with me :/ would definitely recommend.
Here are pics of the Faxion case on my DNA. Overall the case fits very well. Power and volume buttons are a little hard to press, but that's really not the cases fault. I'm not to crazy about the glossy finish, it's a scratch/scuff magnet (all the pics on the Web did not show this glossy finish), I may have thought twice about buying this case and just gone with the dual pro. However, one of the main reasons I did go with the Faxion is it has a thinner profile than the dual pro, and it doesn't disappoint from that aspect. It doesn't add a lot of weight or extra to the phone, fits nicely in my size 34 jeans pocket The one thing I am completely disappointed about though is the screen protector provided by Incipio. You can see in the picture that because the screen on the DNA is curved on the edges, the protector doesn't stick all the way around for about a mm. I'll have to buy some replacements online.

Actually the dual pro is suppose to be the exact same thickness (according to the specs on incipio's website) and the buttons are a ton easier to press in my opinion.

So they are the same thickness like he said....
One piece of warning regarding this case, the microusb charging cable doesn't work because the backshell on the microusb side of the cable that plugs into the phones charging port is to thick with the HTC provided cable. I had to use my wife's cable from her Samsung SG3 that has a thinner profile backshell.
Sent from my Droid DNA
Disregard my statement above regarding the microusb cable that comes with the phone, it does work just fine with this case. I was using a cable from another device I've had in the past and that's where I was having issues.

i received my dual pro today and its great as to be expected from a 2 part case (silicon, hard plastic) all the buttons are easy to hit unlike the otterbox i have and this case feels real nice in the hands the included screen protector feels cheap but dosent take away from the quality of the screen like most free protectors do, overall i'm very satisfied this is exactly what i've wanted since i got the phone.

Bumper case anyone?

With the soft grip/nylon/leather back & strong screen this phone to me seems like an ideal canidate for a bumper case to protect the edges from getting scratched up. Anyone found/using one?
Thanks
Never had any luck with bumper cases. Always seemed to peel off when taking phone out my pocket. I just go with a full case but I always try and find one not so bulky.
Usually Verizon puts one out for their droids I think.

Moto X Pure comes with a bumper case, but I think that's because of the high likelihood of screen breakage on the phone.

Yes, I was hoping the Turbo came with one too. Haven't found one online or in a store yet.

I'm very happy with this TPU case ordered from Amazon.com. It is offered in a few colors. They are about as thin a case as I have ever used. I did have a thin hard shell case for my Moto X that I liked a bit better. But, this does the trick and improves the handling.

I haven't seen anyone making just a nice simple rubber bumper yet for this phone.
If you find one, please post it!
I would really want a bumper one friend of mine has a moto x and it look really clean.
Incipio Bumper?
I emailed Incipio and asked if they had plans to make a bumper for the T2. Maybe it would help if more people emailed them and asked. Here is the email I got back.
Hello,
Thank you for the email. At this time we are not sure if we are going to release a bumper case for the Moto Droid Turbo 2. We kindly ask that you follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter for upcoming announcements and release dates.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

i ended up getting a cheapie $6 clear case to hold me over, tempted to ghetto it and cut off the back

I've tried cutting a case before and ruined it. In my case what happened was the edges where the cuts were made ended up rubbing on my hand wrong. It felt sharp. I used a good metal file to remove the sharp edges. Then it just looked like crap.

it sucks to have such an amazing phone and there be such a lack of accessories...I just want a nice metal frame case thin af...or a clear bumper only....a full case isnt needed when you have a nice custom phone you want to show off....why if moto makes a nice bumper for the mxp they dont make one for all their phones....anyone know a way we can request maybe if enough people do we can get something going
The cimo brand TPU case is the thinnest one I have found. I've ordered several to try. I can live with it.

Which back do you have on your phone?

[MotoXForce]Changing batterycover.

Im looking to replace the backcover on my ballistic nylon MXF. I regret choosing the ballistic n. version. It got this cheap feel to it, and it is NOT grippy as some reviewers state. I really miss the organic feel of the leather from Moto X 2014.
So, anyone have experience with the replacement covers found around the net?
Have looked at the ones on eBay and AliExpress, but havent found any without the cutout for the Droid logo. Are there perhaps other places to buy from? Anyone tried it or got some ideas?

I'm from México, and asked motorola about this, they told me they do not sell the covers, but they can change it for you if you take it to costumer service, and obviously they will charge you for it. I'm on the other side, I'm tired of the leather feel. Lol.

Well, yes, you are kind of correct. I was actually looking for leatherbacks, but I see now that wasnt clear from the OP. My fault!
Btw the two last links are for the Droid Turbo 2 and not suitable if you want the back clean of Droid logos.
I ordered my moto x from the carrier and the girl/rep told me it was the balistic nylon. When the phone came it was the leather model... i was about to return it but boy it feels premium.
Previous phone was a Note 3 and the difference is a loooooot.
I just orderd black leather cover from here: http://de.aliexpress.com/item/Origi...or-Moto-Motorola-Droid-Turbo/32581897134.html
Then I changed the ballistic nylon back from my basic version of Moto X Force (without logo) to leather version with DROID logo and I´am very happy! Now feeling more Premium to my Moto X 2014 or Moto X Style with leather back before. The leather ist very smooth and grippy.
Any videos how to replace back cover?

Does anywhere sell a complete leather back ie not cut our for DROID logo? Or does anyone know where to buy the droid logo?
I own an x force so isn't technically a droid but I've also not enjoyed the ballistic nylon...
Any help would be great.

I had the leather for about 6 months now and hated every time of it. Just bought a "regular" back cover, and it feels very good in the hand. It has the "Droid" branding tho... Search in Aliexpress, I've seen what you're looking for there.
The DROID-logos are included. I bought some leather variants and a softgrip cover from ALIEXPRESS. All covers came with logo. In my opinion the look with DROID logo ist much "cooler" as the global MOTO X FORCE version without any logo on the back.
do u really need a heat gun to remove the adhesive back?
Sent from my XT1580 using Tapatalk
Hair dryer ist really enough. With a little heat it is much easier.
I've put a Red nylon backcover with hair dryer.
Long, very long time to could peel off the back.
And be careful, metal is so hot !!!

Belt Clip/Case Combo

Howdy,
I've been searching but still have yet to come across a decent belt clip/case combo. The only ones I've come across are way too bulky or the phone hangs face out (Armor-X & Nagebee). The best I've had ever was by Seidio for a OnePlus 2 (https://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Kickstand-Belt-Clip-Holster-OnePlus/dp/B015EF3A34), but it doesn't look like they're going to do one of the OP5.
https://www.armor-x.com/tp-pl5-bk-a...roof-protective-case-belt-clip-carabiner.html
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073DK5BHY
Anyone come across anything that may work?
Thanks!
I have been using the seidio note 4 holster for my op3 and now my 5.
It is a little loose in it with just a bumper case but it does what it needs to do. I have several of these holsters from my GN4 days and boy have they comes in handy. I can use practically any case and it will work.

Thanks gshadow, I'll give that a try.
Just wish Seidio would come out with a case for the OP5.
Well here's an update to this.
Here's my solution for a clip combo case.
-siedio holster for note 4
-drental op5 dual layer case with kickstand
Pictures that I needed to edit ?
Now there's going to be a mad rush of people buying up all the note 4 holsters. Too bad I got them all lol joke
I sent a message to Seidio and they said they have no plans to make the dilex case for the 5/5T, which is truly unfortunate because it is several orders of magnitude above the armor-x case. They did say they would pass the request up to their dev team, though, so if you add your voice it might encourage them to produce one...
I too have been wishing for a Seidio case for my beloved OP5! :crying:
The LG G4 Platinum Series holster works great with a minimal case.
