[F32xx][TWRP][3.1.1-0][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP recovery for XA Ultra - Sony Xperia XA Ultra ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, &

Hi all,
I'm happy to share with you my new TWRP recovery 3.1.1-0 built from sources. It works for all XA Ultra on Nougat.
As before decryption of /data doesn't work so if you want a full backup or explore files use an unencrypted data partition.
Download link:

Flash it with fastboot.

Hi, i am interested to start development for devices, i've done app development in the past but i've never dabbled in ROM and Custom Recovery development. I've been reading on how to create ROMs and Kernels from source but it seems that a device/vendor tree is required. How did you build this recovery without the device tree? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I created device and vendor trees from scratch. I used some parts of the Elephone P9000 trees and other devices with similar hardware.

Hi, there is nothing more for our devices on 3.2.3 . The only thing is that the /Cache error when wiping is fixed.

Does this twrp work on 6.0?

Is there any way to root Xperia XA ultra without volume keys?

Hi,
Great to hear that we got a fully working TWRP recovery for SM-C900F.
If I may suggest, Why don't you work on K2WL's Lineage Rom with his full permission for SM-C900F.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/c9lte/
It would be great. I successfully flashed both the files in the above link @ it works fine. But wifi, data, ril, camera, Sound doesn't work.
It would be great if you work on this. Please try.
Just need a Daily driver Rom..
What say?

K2WL has no desire to work with anyone it seems because he hasn't responded to anyone so Travis and I have been working on it ourselves and have gotten to the same state he was in a matter of days. So it will happen soon don't worry.

You need to wipe your internal memory because Samsung encrypts it with a non-standard method so we can not decrypt it in twrp.

Good evening.
First of all sorry to misuse this thread but it seems pretty dead anyway and the topic is good.
My name is arian and I am working on LineageOS 16 for the Z3 Compact. I'm trying to get it official soon, therefore we would like to also ship Z3, since I don't have this device I haven't shared builds yet and the possible device maintainer is busy right now I would love to get a quick test already.
Would anyone be able to do me a favour and test the LineageOS 16 build + the twrp from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ephedraceae/files/z3/ ?
I can't guarantee _anything_ about the stability of this build and the actual possibility of official builds. That would just be my personal target.
After all the build should work pretty good (as my z3c builds - https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/orig-development/9-lineageos-16-0-z3c-t3886777 ).
Encryption and Decryption should work as long as the data is formatted with my twrp build.
Device Specific sources can be found here: https://github.com/z3c-pie/
Happy flashing

Your work is going well on my Z3 D6603 device, and everything works, but the display size is too small, so I have to adjust it via the display settings
I hope you can continue to develop it for Z3 devices

That are great news. Many thanks for your effort. I hope your builds will be better maintained than the other Pie roms for our z3 because aside from Carbon the majority of pie roms in last months are uploaded here and than abanded.
I will install your rom and twrp today evening and report when i find any issues. Thx again for your work.
@NeoArian
Well I installed your uploaded twrp, made a wipe (system + data + Caches) to uninstall the previous rom and then install your lineage build.
At least by me the encryption doesn't work (as in the latest CR 7.0 builds).
It shows for a moment the Android men when i start the encryption process in the settings, then the screen is black and I'm back at the lineage mainscreen.
Result: No encryption.
Or did i something wrong in my procedure?
Very stable for me on D6603

You definitely have to format the data partition within my twrp, not just wipe it for working encryption.

Yes! That was the trick. Big thanks @NeoArian.
Now the encryption works.
Mayby the wipe was my think issue at the carbon builds, too. So when i test it on Carbon would that be the correct procedure?
1. Format the data in your twrp
2. Wipe system and Caches
3. Install Carbon and boot it
4. Go in your twrp and make again a data formatting
5. Boot Carbon and start the encryption process.

This is a recovery image so you can flash it regardless of what rom you are using (you can flash 32 or 64bit roms with it)
However as you are on stock rom I would recommend sticking with my official twrp recovery especially if you use encryption due to encryption bug in this recovery
I wanted to use this to Switch to a 64bit Rom Rom for the first time. I have always been afraid, because i wouldn't be able to restore my stock backup. Would this be possible With this Recovery?

If you want to restore stock flash stock firmware via fastboot and then restore your backup using the twrp which created the backup
You can probably just restore the backup using the twrp that created it without flashing stock firmware first but just in case the custom rom alters anything that isn't restored with the backup
Make sure you backup efs partition just in case of a loss of imei

Encryption doesn't work on which ROMs?
No idea, I only read the OP + Thread history. The OP says that backup with encryption does not work and the thread history has no fixed or somewhat.

P.S.: This isn't meant as a "INSTANTLY DO THAT I WANT IT!", I can try to help but I have zero experience at Android internals (and Android recoverys).
I have currently no encryption, is it save to use it for backups?

There is Android 11 ROM for Xperia Tablet Z4.
It's quite stable.
Kernel sources.
Bugs:
- The same as LOS 18.1.
How to install:
1) use TWRP 3.5.0.
2) do factory reset (wipe)
3) Flash magisk 21. It's not necessary to flash gaaps as it is inbuilt in the ROM.

Xiaomi 12X custom rom requested

Hi everyone, I've been trying to find a custom rom for Xiaomi Mi 12X, but none found so far. I tried to port Pixel Experience rom using the Xiaomi Mi 11X (alioth) device tree and changed accordingly, since the SOC and almost all specs are the same except Camera. Can anybody shed some light in how to correctly port the ROM for my devices without official device tree from LineageOS or Pixel Experience? Thank you.

Yes, especially the sound makes problems... When usung videocall, it's awfully distorted. I'm using stock for now. With Lawnchair and some modifications it's ok for now.
Do you know, why there's no thread for our phone here?
Just seen, you are forking some repositories... Have you been successful in building?

Did you flash with vendor or system only?

No, I used the same procedure as described for Alioth device, fastboot flash boot boot.img, then from recovery use adb push to update the zip ROM file.

But how did you built the rom. Did you get out a flashing zip directly? Normally, you create different partitions as fas as I know... Would you share your rom? Btw. which one did you build?

Yes, after building I got a zip and flashing it using update by adb push. I built Pixel Experience Android 11

But you used the lineage device tree. And PE is aosp not lineage. Might that be the problem? Would you try to build crdroid? Or instruct me how to setup a build environment?
No, I used the PE device tree, not Lineage. I used the build instructions provided by Pixel Experience for Alioth.

Yesterday xiaomi released kernel for 12x on GitHub. So I think now you can build pe/los without troubles

Didn't they release the kernel when the phone was released?

Did you replaced vendor libs with libs from 12x and other stuff like fstab, bins, rc files..configs? Attach logs from boot if you decide to build again. My advice is to build as eng and disable encryption, put selinux to minimal mode, nuke livedisplay, import vendor modules if you build with stock prebuilt kernel. Always look for F Linker errors in log and resolve them.
I'm waiting for AOSP rom too.
