I can confirm that my Note 4x is omnivision sensor. And,I'm using RR latest build. Camera works flawlessly on my phone.
Yes it does, but you may need to flash the firmware for omnivision sensor first.

I didn't flash any drivers or fixes. My previous rom is miglobe. I flashed CM14.1 firmware first than RR ROM and pico gapps.

No..wipe data and system then flash CM14.1 firmware (cm-14.1-mido-firmware-20170430),RR ROM and gapps.

If you're on MIUI, go to about phone & tap kernel version 7-8 times simultaneously. There's an option to check camera sensor then.

I bought the Redmi note 3 pro sd version on 27th june. I guess it has the new fingerprint hardware. Requesting previous developer who has built the cm radio zip to work the fingerprint on cm based Roms to create another zip for new hardwares or else it's really uneasy to use the ROM for us. Like it's easy but we really miss the fingerprint. feels like it's not there. Hope we'll get It on the new hardware soon. thanks. :fingers-crossed:

For me it's both. Only on MIUI 8, it works.
With locked or unlocked bootloader..

Fingerprint sensor works fine on official leaked MM rom but doesn't work on cm based ROM & ported MIUI 7.3.9 MM rom from special edition.
Use Official MIUI8 then.
Do you mean 6.6.23 by official ?
The point is we want to try other not miui roms too,also that leaked mm rom is full of bugs.

Nx kernel doesn't work for goodix fingerprint sensor. Make sure that you have a fpc fingerprint sensor.

I was on miui.eu 6.9.9 and the Kernel bricked my Phone again with lost imei and efs.
It dont work for me

It should work. I used on epic & global beta 6.9.9.
Anyway, flash the ROM again and restore the efs partition.

Hi. On every 7.0/7.1 ROM i have lot of problems with camera. I know the situation with source from Xiaomi but is there really no good rom where everything works fine? After trying seven roms with 7.1 i must again go back to CM 13.
What roms do you use?

Try to use Google camera. It minimise problems, but the well known ones (like flash out of sync ecc) still like in all nougat roms

I'm using Slim7 official and camera works fine 95% of the time. Flash also works most of the time and video recording is fine as well. Just use Google Camera and it'll be fine. I'm on MIUI firmware, as I haven't flashed any other firmware.
I flash nos rom , and the camera doesn't work. Other camera app doesn't work too.then I flash another rom and the camera doesn't work too.
By the way,the photoflash doesn't work too.

Maybe it is due to missing cam sensor driver. Like mine is s5k3p3_f3p3man and long time back, the driver wasn't there i mean on the stock kernel but most of custom kernel include this driver, but for now almost all ROMs has it, so I don't need to flash custom kernel.

You can try to flash miui global stable 8.1.6 in edl mode or xiaomi.eu 8.2.1 stable in twrp and then flash custom rom. I think this will solve your problem
